Also the cobalt is honestly super reliable, more or so the LNF motor. If kept Stock, that thing will run for a long long time with minor maintenance. I had a FBO and 25psi tune on mine and my motor blew after 2 years but I beat on the thing every single stop light and ran it extremely hard being a immature 21 year old years ago
The screen that came with a very limited number of LNFs is the Reconfigurable Performance Display (RPD) and its very unique because it shows only the gauge readings in real time at a smooth frame rate due to the onboard NEC custom chip running a proprietary system designed by Continental. It's unlike most digital gauges you see on modern cars these days that have a slow choppy response readings and are very limited to customizations. It's sad the RPD concept was short lived and was never put into future generation cars.
I'm a fellow Cobalt owner as well, although mines isnt a SS like yours. Yours is just missing one more mod that will make it look complete, 20% tint all around and 70% on the entire windshield! That will get rid of the fishbowl look nicely.
Sick paint job bruh! This CSS looks and sounds great. I do love that freakin' Typhoon intake and how mine snorts back between shifts. I have the classic look Nueb victory red. I'm enjoying your hood and latches look too. Keep up with that beautiful vehicle and enjoy it! Cheers!
Thank you so much man I really appreciate it! More vids coming soon on it got a lot of work to do! Also I love victory red! It looks so good, I originally was going to paint mine red/dark grey and then last second decided to do the blue!
Thanks for fresh look and love for one of my all time favorite cars I ever owned. I still have my 2010 SS that just turned 40k miles this summer. No mods at all except the dealer installed Stage 2 turbo upgrade done at the time of delivery. Absolutely no reliability issues except the sunroof doesn't open any more. At this point I wonder if I should keep babying it anticipating it might actually appreciate in value over time or drive it. It's seen rain maybe 10 times in the last 10 years and is near perfect condition. I truly welcome thoughts on this matter.
That is so awesome man, incredible to see a SS with that low of miles and in that good of condition! I don’t really have reliability issues with mine at all either I just put that one part in the vid as a joke because my friends all drive Hondas and say their cars are more reliable than mine 😂 I’ve owned mine for 4 years now and I’ve driven ALOT of cars and I still have to say the Cobalt SS is still my top car, it’s just a gem for its time!
I wish I had an LNF...my lsj blew last year and the to get an entire new one put in would be like 5-6k. I could buy a whole new car for that lol. I had just gotten new pizza prisma seats, zzp longtube w/2.5 out, 2.8 pulls and cooling upgrades, new sparco wheels w/firehawk tire, new radio w/fosgate 12powered sub. I would have turboed by now and would be pushing 350hp for my target power.
I got the regular 4 door and i give credit that its good for its year but with new cars and so many options now i just cant wait to get something else. Those seats are so nice. Thats about it for the interior. I hate everything else about it, including the steering wheel!!! Its very average haha. I'm not hating. The SS is a lot better, one thing I would want to change is the front grill. And I was looking at aftermarket headlights as well and went the restoration route cause theres no good ones out there.
I miss my baby. I got a 07 supercharged in victory red then sprayed it Toyota #40 white red and black interior with with flat black dragg 69 wheels with just about all exterior engine bolt ons
I’ve owned every car with a LNF motor in it besides a Fisker Karma but idc about that half electric car. My Cobalt SS turbo was by far more fun to drive than my solstice Gxp or hhr ss. By far my favorite 4 banger motor. I’ve owned a brand new 2021 Scat pack manual and I still liked the cobalt ss more lol
That’s funny you say that because I owned a 5.0 mustang and I like the cobalt a hell of a lot more than the mustang haha, just something different about cobalts
Absolutely beautiful car. I’ve been wanting one for the past year now, and I currently have 2 that I’d seriously consider buying, although I’m wondering if I should sell my mk6 vw GTI for one of these
Bro do it! These cars are awesome, there’s just something about them that makes them so unique and fun to drive, I have a 5.0 mustang and I prefer driving my cobalt over it any day haha
@@automotivebois it’s extremely tempting. It’s just my gti has been super reliable to me, and it’s a great car. One part of me wishes the gti would break so I had an excuse to get one😂😂
I am confused why you stated this car was unreliable. These cars are amazing... AS LONG THEY ARE TAKEN CARE OF, they are EXTREMELY reliable. My 2006 LSJ Supercharged Cobalt has been one hell of a car. However, I have taken care of it with regular std maintenance.
Haha yea they honestly are super reliable, I just put that part in as a joke because all of my friends drive Hondas and say their cars are more reliable then mine haha, mines only had problems because when I bought the motor that’s in my car the car it came from was sitting for 2 years, supposedly sitting is worse for it than beating on it I found haha, but I still beat the piss out of that car and it’s only given me really 2 real problems 1 being the turbo going out but that’s because of it sitting for so long, the rest are just replace little things here and there, love these cars
I've always wanted to find a manual 2.2l cobalt and put the ZZP Turbo kit or supercharger kit on it. They can be very reliable if you have a 2008+, The older cobalts had some timing chain issues.
That was the original plan for this car actually! When it had the 2.2 in it I actually bought the Zzp ko4 full turbo kit for it, but then the 2010 LNF came up on marketplace that was rusted out that was a insanely good deal, so I bought that and swapped everything from that into my car! And just this last weekend I actually swapped out the k04 and put a z57 turbo on it 👀
@@automotivebois yeah sounds a lil sketchy never thought about buying a car off there it was marketplace for me 😂. But good stuff they are getting a lot more rare and you’re color is pretty unique

Lol, Mine has been a complete POS. Not reliable at all, but has been fun to work on.
It depends on who had it before you too. I bought a real shitbox lol.@@automotivebois

Wow I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in this color besides in Need for Speed lol. Also that hood is cool as hell.
Thanks man I appreciate it a lot! Color is ford grabber blue!
the inside the interior tuner is something I wish my solstice had
Maybe you could wire one up in it? Do you think that would work? It’s such a nice feature to have!

Brembos were only on the turbo cobalts from 08-2010. Not supercharged. Love the car! Would love to see more
Okay thanks for the information!! Just big turbod it so will most likely have a video on that soon 👍🏽
Should I buy a manual cobalt as a first?
Yes bro! Very good first car, not only are they pretty quick but they’re also very reliable! And mods are relatively cheap for them too!
If you have questions or need help looking for one/question on what to look for message me on insta! “Braiden_Benjamin”
Love this Balt man, I got some new videos coming also, just finished getting mine re-tuned. Keep it up....
