  • Alec Baldwin involuntary Manslaughter trial to begin in New Mexico.

A New Mexico judge has ruled that actor Alec Baldwin's indictment will stand in the fatal shooting of a cinematographer on the set of his film Rust. In an order on Friday, Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer turned down a motion by Baldwin’s attorneys to dismiss the indictment.
Baldwin therefore remains scheduled to go on trial in July for involuntary manslaughter. Nearly three years ago, during a rehearsal for a scene in the Western movie on a ranch outside Santa Fe, Baldwin was holding the prop gun that had been loaded with live ammunition. The Colt .45 revolver went off, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.
Baldwin, who was also a producer for the film, pleaded not guilty, and has maintained he was not responsible for Hutchins' death. Shortly after the shooting, he told ABC News he had "no idea" how a live bullet got onto the set of his film, but that he "didn't pull the trigger."
In March, a jury found the film's armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, guilty of involuntary manslaughter and negligent use of a firearm. She's now serving an 18-month prison sentence.
The New Mexico Environment Department's Occupational Health and Safety Bureau issued a citation against Rust Movie Productions and fined them for failures that led to Hutchins' "avoidable death."

Mad respect for Sgt Bill. Your continued consideration for the evidence and how to apply the law OVER personal opinion on Baldwin’s politics etc. HG was inexperienced, multiple live rounds were on set. We will see the level of AB’s influence, his actions during his trial. Jury determines the facts. Justice for Helena.

I’m glad to see that you’re back. I just don’t get the whole thing. It’s been three years and now they’re bringing charges up against Alec Baldwin. I know he’s a complete idiot, but he should’ve checked the gun before he shot the gun that’s how I feel and there was a life that was lost prayers go out to Lena Hudgens, and family.🙏❤️

He didn't even need to pull the trigger, just rest his finger on it when he moved the hammer from half cocked to fully cocked because the trigger moves a little for the trigger mecanism to lock it in the fully cocked posisjon. Jou can't rush the safety steps under the production of a film with firearms. The title of the film was Rust not Rush. Brandon Lee died because of a small budget they used Ammo from the pawnshop they had hired to film the scene under filming of The Crow. Safety is everything! Thank you for making all the content Sgt. Bill.

From my experience with Baldwin, I wouldn’t b surprised if he called the widow and said, “BTW u owe me $20 bucks”. Dude GRADE-A sociopath

Vic Morrow case …. Wasn’t the director or producers charged in the deaths on set. Would this be similar?

Just remember.....Covid rules were in effect on that set. Hannah was NOT allowed to be present and was NOT present with Baldwin made the shot.
Baldwins' father worked as both a high school coach AND A HIGH SCHOOL ARMORER....Alec was VERY WELL FAMILIAR with guns.
Me thinks he got angry at the young director and purposely pointed the gun at her; likely didn't know it was loaded with a real bullet.
Alec Baldwin was present and did the shot....he should be held accountable. Due to his "celebrity" probably won't however, and this 26 yr old armor WHO WAS NOT PRESENT will get the blame.

new Baldwin PR tactic, "Alec didn't squeeze the trigger hard. The gun has a trigger malfunction. It's not Baldwin's fault." ... Alec had been shooting blanks from the same pistol for 2 weeks. He was familiar with that weapon, he *fully cocked the weapon, and continues to grasp for "trigger" excuses
