    3D Gaussian Splatting
    github.com/gra...
In 2019, we captured detailed data of a model from BMA Models in London, illuminating them with our bespoke 156x LED rig. This was achieved using specialized techniques and IR's earlier 48x Ximea camera setup.
With the advancements offered by 3DGS by the team at Inria, we're now venturing into unprecedented detail - capturing even the most intricate hair strands of individuals under varied lighting conditions. This opens up a possible new horizon for CG artists, offering them a novel reference and visualization tool when creating digital doubles. We're still in the early stages of being able to scale up this process to meet production requirements.
Additionally, we're currently in discussions with Inria regarding potential commercial licensing opportunities.
    These are "baked" illumination patterns.

You can find more information on our website www.ir-ltd.net. We capture lots of synchronized images and we then align them in 3d space then process them with a technique called 3D gaussian splatting that can be viewed in real-time. Our next test will be video capture. You can also find more on our twitter page @ 8infinite8 we have older full-body video capture examples there as well.

Thanks Salim. Kind of. They are more like based on points as ellipsoids that can contain additional information like opacity, colour values and spherical harmonics. They are not perfect in every situation but pretty good at distance.
