In all fairness the worst part of the lipstick thing is that it's not even funny or science... You can make a great joke with "lasers" (you know Austin Powers) and then ElectroBoom plugs an electric outlet, sparks fly, all styropyro's láser turn on, and then a bunch of background references to the other science channels... Or more references... Idk, but fucking melting lipsticks man...

When i first saw rewind i thought they’d have legitimate science you tubers like yourself and mehdi, and was just appalled that they replaced such a large part of youtube with non-scientific garbage that they think you guys all create.

Sourav Goswami that channel used to be so good with all those science and engineering projects but it just steadily declined to stupid shit aimed at 10 year olds for them to do in the household kitchen... it’s a shame, the UA-cam science and education community used to be so good until mainstream UA-cam became 10 year olds galore and the most subscribed “science” channels are just these random idiots filling bathtubs with slime and melting lipstick instead of doing actual science and experiments with purpose. Pisses me off.

I thought I had watched all of the hate videos for rewind 2018 and I missed this one! And ElectroBOOM is one of my favorite UA-camrs!
Watching Rewind 2018 is like listening to a pop song. I feel my IQ dropping by the second of being exposed to it.
Even electrical engineer reacted to the UA-cam rewind 2018
Will Smith is not a UA-camr in a major way so it made no sense.
I am on UA-cam way too much and I did not know any of these people.
It felt like a corporate AD made by someone who never uses UA-cam at all.
It was cringy as hell and goes to show how UA-cam is continuing to distance itself from the creators in favor of "family friendly" meaning "advertiser friendly" bullshit that caters to a small fraction of what viewers actually watch and want to see.
They've gone corporate on us all :(
Well, even if you're on UA-cam 24/7 you might not know some of those people since you're not the audience they target. They won't be recommended to you. UA-cam just looked at who has high subscriber number, who is perfectly politically correct and who do the kids like.
I have recognised mkbhd (everyone should know him), Safiya Nygaard (hate her), and Simone Giertz (and Malware Unicorn right behind her)

For the last few years their business model has moved away from amateur content creators and have been pushing it as another platform for large media outlets to post their content. For late night shows who have new content 5 days a week this is the only place that makes sense. UA-cam likes this because it draws traffic and is advertiser friendly. Ads make money, UA-cam wants to monetize. Doesn't matter how many subscribers someone has or how good their content is; if you don't bring in ad revenue for UA-cam, you are worthless to them.
