Too shame Akihabara is no longer very much an electric town -- You need to go onto backstreets or under train tracks to find full bridge rectifiers.
Akihabara also has weird vending machines... but they're pretty hard to find.
As of April 2017, there was a shop that, no joke, had a window display of full-bridge rectifiers.

This brought back a lot of memories. I spent several months there and got to see a lot of the country. So clean and so safe, very nice people. Very crowded though. Riding a bus was like sardines standing up in the can. Literally in contact with 6 other people. But no concerns about pick pockets, thieves or even just creepy people. All major cities had an underground, much like another city underground with street and shops. Sort of like a huge shopping mall of sorts. All foot traffic other than some authorities and emergency equipment that had essentially specialized golf carts.
I was in many of the places he went to and it's just an amazing country. Kyoto is somewhat unique in that it was deliberately spared during WW2. Many ancient buildings and temples, winding little streets little shops and businesses everywhere, Just an awesome place and it's just an incredible place to visit.
12:56 "That's my hat in the tree! You see it?!? Thank you Obama!" LMAO
Great vlog man!
Another viewer from the 0.1% passing by. I'm glad that you had a good time!
Few decades ago Akibahara had more "electroboom" type of electrical appliances but nowadays its shifted towards anime/manga.
What a bunch of jerks, who wouldn’t want to advertise Electroboom and his safety tips?
Noooooooooo!!!!! You have to go a bit north in Akihabara - then you can find ENTIRE STORES dedicated to electronics like voltage-regulated power supplies and HAM radio sets and all manner of things. I am sad you were not able to find it.
The thank you Obama for the hat in the tree killed me, also the Owen Wilson wows were funny too
Nice little trip :D Incidentally I ended up visiting the same three locations like one month later, and the Hakone area was the best thing we've done to ourselves :)
Could we maybe get a video on different world voltage standards/plugs and their advantages/disadvantages?
South Africa pro tip: Bring everything.
In Japan I bought a narrow little three-way adapter that would allow me to plug in my three-prong cords and just let the ground prong hang out in the wind. It was either that or cut off the ground prong.
