    lol that's what she said, ya I have though about getting one of these, who uses the radio any way ? I just don't want a 3 foot dumb antenna

      They are pretty good, it's mostly for looks lol, it dose pretty well when I'm out and about but gets static when I'm around tall trees and alot of houses.

    If your car's antenna mast does not make it go up or down. Would you recommend replacing the traditional antenna mast and then installing the aftermarket stubby antenna? or can I just install the aftermarket antenna even though my current antenna doesn't go up and down?

    • @michaelmartinez4515
      @michaelmartinez4515  8 років тому

      this antenna is just a stubby one in place of my old long one, it never went up or down.

    Have you figured out a way to get a better reception with the radio, I have on a Dodge Ram and the reception dropped dramatically.

      Justin Forrester yes sir, absolutely, they sell a little device called a signal booster, what it dose is connect to 12v then connects to your antenna and it will basically amplify the signal, I've not had many static problems only when traveling out of town. thanks for watching!

      Does this connect to the back of your head unit on the stereo or is it something that goes on the antenna?

    • @michaelmartinez4515
      @michaelmartinez4515  7 років тому

      Justin Forrester it all depends on the kit you purchase, some have a totally new cable to connect to the back of the head unit and some kits you connect your antenna cable into it and the other end into your radio, let me see if i can find you a kit.

      Justin Forrester here you go sir, this one is under 15$ and fast free shipping, Look at this on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/331612371926 check it out, this should suit your trucks stereo very well.

      I was somewhat wondering if wrapping the threaded part of the base with a metal tape or some sort or then reinstalling the antenna might help.

    If it is rubber how about instead of painting it you just restore it....

    how is the radio reception with the stubby antenna?

    • @michaelmartinez4515
      @michaelmartinez4515  9 років тому

      I would say it works 80% of the time, the original is by far the strongest but this one dose well on its own.

      A coat hanger has better performance. There is no advantage other than looks.

    How about just go with a stock antenna. It ruins the car. I won’t say what my car is but it’s annoying seeing people putting these types of antennas on their cars, they don’t, like aftermarket wheels, match the flow of the car.

    • @michaelmartinez4515
      @michaelmartinez4515  6 років тому +3

      Jason Princer Sorry to hear that. In my opinion long antennas look long and dorkey, and i think the stubby gives my suv a great look. Thanks for watching!
