If you could have a category for each discipline and then have a top 5 apps constantly updated that would be awesome. The art ones are pretty easy to find and work out which are best... But the 3d stuff like AI prompt animation are a bit niché and harder to find.

Agree entirely. Narrative AI filmmaking will be held back until it can replicate the subtlest of facial expressions… plus kissing… can’t tell a good romance story without a believable kiss :-)
Yeah, I agree. The video motion capture (or text prompt to 3D animation) tools can definitely do small motons. But guess for promotional material everyone leans into showing dancing as it looks more showy than someone having a cup of tea, walking, driving or realistically being idle.

Yeah.. it's kind of inevitable at this point. But Stable Diffusion should be useable for free via something like ComfyUI and run it locally. I think Goenhance has a free offer at the moment as they're new on the scene. Plus Decohere does let you do 'some' things for free.
ah.. I guess they reached high enough demand. It's good (and easy) but if you really wanted to you could create your own elaborate workflow using ComfyUI and Animatediff to achieve the same result and run it for free locally on a 'good enough' machine.

Hey. I'm well. 🙂. Whilst you can't do video generations with MidJourney (**yet). You can take an initial image from MidJourney and have it turned into video using something like RunwayML Gen 2, Pika, Animatediff or StableVideo (via various platforms). Plus Sora when it comes out.

I was hoping a way to make a series of consistent photos to make a frame it will be better than 4 seconds from runwayml and it has problems with motion most of the time. Now I need a favor from you . could you please make a tutorial about the best way to make kids short stories in Studio Ghibli-style like this peaceful and calming movie The Wind Rises 2013 thank you.

Potentially mixing some basic filming of actors, with any backdrops 'crudely' added via After Effects or 3D app. Then use a tool like DomoAI (or new offering from GoEnhance AI) to apply the anime style look.
