@@ugna2773 that’s a broad question, “really good condition”, but to me the biggest concern is how much rust is present on the truck. I know that GM had a problem with the painting process in the 73 to I think 75 which caused them to rust unbelievably fast. If I did not have my 78 that I bought new I would probably look for at least a 77 up. Price is always relevant but I would not sell my truck with the original 454 for less than 40k.
When I was a kid my older brothers first truck was a ‘77 3/4 ton Sierra long box 2 wheel drive with a 454, 4 speed, 4 barrel Holley, big west coaster mirrors and bias ply tires. We had a lot of fun in that truck and seeing your collection sure brings it back.
I don't know about anyone else, but after reading the title, I thought for sure they were ACTUALLY going to talk about the trucks and not talk about the trucks buy history, but talk about the trucks themselves, all the options over the years, looks inside, under the hood and walk around. Talk about the differences over the years etc... not what I was expecting or hoping for. Nice trucks though. Would have been nice to see in them and under the hood IMO
My square body is a 1975 C65 Chevy I put together from a grain truck I have owned for years. Great shape with 65000 miles and no rust. It has a 366 with a 5 speed and 2 speed rear end.
Those are some beautiful square bodies you have there. My very first vehicle was an 80 Chevy half-ton with the Silverado package. That was many moons ago. My current truck is a 68 GMC C20.
Awesome video. I just bought my first squarebody. It's a 1985 longbed k10. I'm happy to see there are people that love these truck as much if bit more than me. 😂
My first brand new vehicle was a 1978 BIG10 SWB 454 bright blue metallic that I special ordered and took over five months to get it. I still have it with 82k miles. It’s very similar to the blue 1977 you have.
My step dad bought a 77 Bonanza 3quarter ton long bed maroon 4x4 in 78, 10k miles at the time like new, years later traded it in for brand new 82 or 83 Subaru Brat! I hated when he traded that truck in, your dad would have loved that Chevy Bonanza! Both of those vehicles in great shape would be collectibles!
Nice collection! I bought my first square body yesterday. I have a old 67 C10 and a 08 4wd but had never owned a Square body before. It's the truck of my childhood. My dad had one and I drove one when I was an electrician for a service truck. Love'em.
I have a 1978 C20 with a built 2006 350 crate motor, I’m the second owner, it’s licensed in AZ but it resides in CA. It will not pass smog here so it needs a new home. Interested? It’s in pretty damn good shape. It’s a beast!
I just bought a 1975 K20 with 130,000 miles. Bought new in 75 and paid off in 78. All original 47-year-old title. I'm the second owner. I bought it to replace a 1980 I had to sell when my kids were little.
This is what my heaven would look like. Beautiful collection. I have a couple, but mine are rusty crusty, high mileage turds compared to these. Thanks for sharing them with us.
I see most of your K trucks have the older style luggier tires, what brand are they and where do you find them, they look great for an original stock look
Your truck collection is awesome! I love the tire and wheel combo on the 4x4s. I have a 91 v3500 4x4 454 4L80! (Pictured to the left) Scored it off of a fire department. Sold the utility body and put a very clean dually bed on it. Rest of the truck is in great shape too.
1:46 “North Dakotas a good state for very little rust” As a Resident I’m not so sure on that haha. Most old vehicles here are more rust than not haha. Lots of salt and wet roads in winter. Trucks tend to be Decent if they are only driven in the summer
My first vehicle was a 1984 chevrolet square. Since then I have had 4 in total #2 and 3 were to make #3 a running driving truck, and we had to move so it got sold. #4 is my current, I traded a 1990 BMW735i for it and the truck wasn't running. Had it running later that night and it's a 1976 C25 GMC rwd it's insanely clean but at some point someone put doors from a suburban onto it.
I try to think every time I view something on here , I like to think it's a learning curve . Which this was . The oldest truck I have is a 94 GMC . I drive 96 Tahoe daily . Starting my collection going back to 1973 GMC trucks ... I like trucks to be all original, or close to it . Not tampered with , with aftermarket crap on it ...
I need to do a new video on all the trucks. He has a lot more now and a lot of them have been sold or traded. Maybe we will do that on a warm day here soon!
I have an old all original 1980 gmc 4x4 half ton and was wondering where to purchase a set of stock appering steel wheels that i can use the original caps on but in a 16 or 17 with a little dish it appears that one or more of your trucks have what i am looking for
Where do you get those wheels and hub caps, I want some for my one owner 02 Silverado, I bought it new and still have it, it doesn’t have a ding on it with zero rust here in Arizona, all ways kept it in garage!
Jimmy, I searched long and hard for the wheels. And about a year ago I got lucky and was able to buy about 25 full sets of hubcaps from a family whose father owned a dealership into the early 80’s
The only 0ne . That i maybe interested in izz the green & white 0ne with the 400 in itt. 4 myself if he izz ever okay with trying 2 sell 0ne in the near future.. i think it fits 2 me perfectly
Just purchased a clapped out 76 with full time 4x4 for $300 my dad has a nice 79 big10 still in it's original paint and unmolested that my grandpas best friend purchased new.
Those 80 and pre 4spd. C30 are much more common than ones with th400. I personally would think a "holy grail" would be a 1987 tbi model. Also 3 hours from Indy to South Bend? I guess if you are driving in reverse
How can I get in touch with your dad? I'm in Indy and I'm looking for a 77-79 K20. Wondering if he had any lines on one that he's not interested in. Thanks! Tom
Just watched the video. My Father bought a 77 C20 Cheyenne 454. Bought from the original owner 6 months from new in 1977. The original owner wanted a C30. I have the truck now and will not give it up sell or trade it. Still runs like a Champ. I even drive it for my occasional road trips which may in total mileage be 4000 miles. I have the original 16.5 inch wheel set. I like the wheel sets on your trucks. Still running the hubcaps. Where can I get a set? Love the video with the good history included. Real trucks. Mines has paid for itself 20 x's over. The trucks now are more like over sized grocery carts. But anyway let me know please.... about the wheels please. Thanks
i have a 75 c10 that i guessed converted to a k10 cause its converted to a 4x4 with a 350 but bored to a 383 dual straight pipes out each behind the cab got 35 inch mud tires all the way around w a kc roll bar on top going into the 8ft bed
I have a for real question. I'm in the market for a new brushed aluminum bezel for my 83 K20 Silverado edition truck. Its a 6.2 diesel and with the rectangular wiper control hole. Why is it i can't seem to find a new bezel or a brushed glue on face plate with the glow plug dummy light hole cut into it? There's no way chevy took a dremmel and cut all those holes by hand or did they? I can't even find a photo of the back of one of these bezels to compare to a non diesel bezel to know if i can cut my own hole or not. Plus that rectangular hole just about touches the large round holes. That will be pretty tricky to pull off.

What do you think a fair price to pay for a 1980 k10 shortbox in really good condition.
So his first truck was an 87? I know a guy selling a 1987 3/4 ton Chevy with a the step side bed.
@@ugna2773 that’s a broad question, “really good condition”, but to me the biggest concern is how much rust is present on the truck. Tell your dad I have a 1978 Chevy Cheyenne tell him he also can’t have it
Impressive Square bodies are the best-looking trucks to ever roam this Earth

I agree. Don’t care about the backstory. Motors, transmission auto/manual, transfer cases (NP203 or NP205) stuff like that.
Square body 4life.!!!
My square body is a 1975 C65 Chevy I put together from a grain truck I have owned for years. Great shape with 65000 miles and no rust. It has a 366 with a 5 speed and 2 speed rear end.
Your dad definitely needs his own channel for his trucks they are some nice rare beast
That 1 ton is suweeeeet!
Those are some beautiful square bodies you have there. My very first vehicle was an 80 Chevy half-ton with the Silverado package. That was many moons ago. My current truck is a 68 GMC C20.

Where did you get the wheels ?
They look stock but wider.
I have a 75 K5 that needs them

I search long and hard for them. They are a 16.5 x 9.75. Your best bet would be to get a new set from Wheel Vintiques.

Rob, I do not. I sold it late last year. It was for sale again about 2 months ago and sold within a week. Not sure where it went
The blue and white 79, where did those wheels come from? i love them.
