- When you take a long-running franchise like Saints Row that's as beloved and popular as it is and you decide to reboot it, you have to know you're taking a big risk. Volition's open world series has built up a huge fanbase over the years with its many instalments, but with its next game, it's taking on the herculean task of wiping the slate clean to welcome in more newcomers while also delivering the sort of fun that series fans will be very familiar with.
Obviously, that means it's making a great deal of changes over all of its predecessors, and here, as we approach Saints Row's launch, we're going to talk about a few of those changes. - Ігри
The only issue I have is that the other story characters just don’t seem that interesting

Ok buddy saints row 1-4 characters were never interesting especially Johnny gat they should've killed him in saints row 3 but sadly zinyak took him or whatever and he's alive sadly the only character that's probably worth my time is Kinzie because she ain't don't nothing crazy besides hacking into shit
I agree, playing alongside a gang of woke misfits with a chip on their shoulder seems forced. Especially with that Urkel tag along..

I know the feeling one video is completely different to the other with minor to a lot of changes.
Every time I see gameplay the background and street’s always look so empty. I hope this isn’t the case in actual gameplay

Looks like a very flat land with little built up cities. No doubt this will be added later in a DLC
I would've liked this sooo much better if they continued the story with the original saints anyways and these new saints were new members they met along the way from Stilwater to SteelPort to Seoul to where this game is set

The gangs are not new. New names and paint jobs maybe, but Los Panteros is literally EXACTLY THE SAME as The Btotherhood, Martial is no different from STAG, the DJ gang whatever they're called are a slightly altered version of the hacker nerd gang in SR3. The only new 'unique' gang is the group of wannabe Mad Max larpers in the desert.
Their not even gangs, the actual gangs from sr1&2 would laugh and shoot them before driving off

Exactly.. zombies are everywhere..I'm all set with the game ..wasn't feeling the characters and their back stories... This is a game for the New age modern people of the world the ones who want to see pronouns and don't want offensive language in a game don't want punching down.. sadly It looks like GTA is going the same route as this game..and this game will sell because it's no more real hardcore gamers in the world I say that because you can tell from companies models changing everything is to appease the casual player..the guy who's going to pick this up cuz his friends got it buy 40,50,60 $100 worth of whatever they gone sell in the store and hardly touch..then the next one comes out and they'll only get that again because his friends have it

Having seen the (albeit curated) gameplay, customizatiom and accessibility/diffuculty options, I am cautiously optimistic.

same info weve seen tons of breakdowns, short videos on and everything else in trying to build up some hype. at this point its landing squarely in 6-8 territory. Im excited but this aint gonna set gaming world on fire.

*i mean you're 6 installments deep with these franchise characters and even with all the craziness of SR3, 4 and GOH, you still managed to bring back Gat, Pierce and Kinzie to AOM with their memories atleast SOMEWHAT intact....so i believe atleast ONE old Saint will be incorporated into this new installment IN SOME WAY. Personally, id love to see Shaundi back in a major compacity.....her seeing the new Saints and kind of taking a liking to them....or mentioning something about AOM and having a crush on Gat and not knowing why lol.....it would be cool to see and satisfy the long time fans enough to accept this new cast of weirdos.....im sure the developers understand this.*

Saints row 2 balanced wacky and grounded perfectly, 3 went off the rails. Besides the overly PC nature of the new one, gameplay wise it looks more like a return to form of the original two
Yeah, the gameplay looks fun, of course the story is going to be garbage.

I’m so hyped about this game. The previous installments were such bangers in their own way and now I’m looking forward to a more grounded, gta-like experience in saints row. More police chases and heists and less throwing people across the city, killing aliens, and dressing like a psycho. Not that there was anything wrong with that😂

Wish Volition took the original crew back into the old west since they mentioned about time travel in SR4. Now that would've been AWESOME.

Gat overwritten that with Gat out of Hell and changing the timeline. We are either in a original timeline or Agent of Mayhems. Either way Volition felt like they f*cked up somewhere between 3,4,GoH, and AoM so they wanted to wipe the slate clean which was the right choice imo

Great story, good gameplay with a decent amount of player freedom.
Although over the top it was grounded. SR3 took one element and completely doubled down on it. And kinda of ruined the franchise IMO.
Saints row 2 wasn't a perfect game it's lack luster and none of the characters are interesting saints row 3 is better and has characters that's look like interesting

Hands down it had the best story and characters, and surprisingly decent dialog.
It looked like crap tho. And was clunky.
SR3 had some sharp writing, and was smart and funny in places. I’ll give it that.
Better graphics, and a nice cartoonish art style.
However, I thought the games tone went too far, too silly and bombastic and actually the gameplay really suffered with missions that were overly scripted - so not much freedom.
Sr2 was really a gta clone tho lets be real here, 3 was what made it unique, sr was just another generic gangster game like gta sa, death jam or fukn....50 cent the game.
3 &4 are more successful both in sales and ratings. Saying it was the downfall of the company is just a lie. The main reason they stopped was well....it was over. Followed the story from 1 to goh, goh was the finale. Those games didn't fail, quite the opposite. there was just nowhere left to go. It was the end. That's why this is a reboot

Is it 60fps or 25fps on next gen hardware?? Devs very very quiet on this and ignoring me on Twitter. Why have we seen zero next gen gameplay this close to launch?
Fps doesn't mean anything and games on next gen look the same on last gen what's the difference the only game that looks completely different is Fortnite

I actually love the reason it came to be a reboot. Instead of keeping things simple in 4 to make sure they can easily drag the series out they do something at the end of 4 so crazy that they pretty much made it impossible to simply just continue. But it WAS cool and so over the top. It's like they burnt it all to the ground to start over.

Initially I said I didn't care how it looked as long as the gameplay was good. However, I'm taking a step back to indecisive as I'm not a huge fan of the woke look and talk in the game. Further, REALLY not a fan of how the devs attacked the fans upon the reveal of the new direction of the reboot. So IF I actually decide to get this game, it'll be very far down the road when it's in the bargain bin. Bad attitude to have? Yeah, probably. Do I care? No, I really don't.

They could have paid tribute to Past Saints characters with posters of Johnny -
(SR1), Pierce/Shaundi/Carlos - (SR2), and Angel/Kinzie/Mayor - (SR3) placed through
the city/countryside.

This is really just SR3 with a bit of 2 in it. Which makes sense cause SR3 was the best reviewed game.

I'm fairly certain they are hiding Johnny Gat somewhere in this game. He's too popular to not at least have an easter egg about him if not a surprise appearance. It's just not Saints Row without Johnny, and I'm betting Volition knows that.
