      I was laughing for about 3 min to this 😂 never noticed it. It is like an absorber stuck on both his ears. Wouldn't say his mixes sound too sharp though :D

      Apparently quite a few = more than 100. Good thing they don't take up space in the studio and disk space is pretty inexpensive these days.

    Yes, if I would like to add hair, sustain , volume, body, and a little color.. how might I get my beard to look as good as your mix is sounding, Andrew!?
    Ha... Great tune by the artist (those guitarists and their dialed in sound).. you can definitely hear the larger impact with subtle changes... That's what I see that's so valuable in these videos - giving the gift to the up and coming mixing engineer the confidence in seeing how subtle changes amounts to everything! Good job Scheps and company!

    That stereo fuzz delay thing in the beginning is absolutely amazing. What the hell is that?!

    • @ultimadum7785
      @ultimadum7785 3 роки тому +4

      It sounds like the guitar player is using delay, a uni-vibe and a fuzz pedal all together.

    • @robnagelhoutmusic
      @robnagelhoutmusic 3 роки тому +6

      @@ultimadum7785 I actually tracked this tune and that's spot on. We recorded that part DI through a lunchbox Neve 511 pre and squashed the hell out of it with an 1176 compressor. I don't recall what brand the fuzz pedal was, it was just an unmarked black box that made crazy fuzz sounds haha but yeah the way that Dunlop uni-vibe undulated really vibed out that part, especially as it hangs through the verse.

    • @benhenze
      @benhenze 3 роки тому +1

      @@robnagelhoutmusic Rob! So cool you tracked this! I'm curious about the guitar on the section at 1:46. That fuzz is amazing.. do you know what it was or what style of fuzz it is? I play bass primarily, I saw that you play too on your channel. Thinking that fuzz could be amazing on bass or on stereo guitars like what's on this track.

    • @robnagelhoutmusic
      @robnagelhoutmusic 3 роки тому +2

      @@benhenze Hey Ben, thanks so much! Appreciate the follow. That tone is actually just blasting through our guitar player's Bogen J330 Projector amp and into a 4x10 cab. It may have a boost pedal, but otherwise it's just straight in. That thing got some crazy tones! The fuzz that I was using on bass at the time of this record was a Zvex Mastotron (idk if I used it on this song, but any fuzz parts that I did on the album was that). I definitely recommend it for bass and guitar fuzz if you're looking for something.

      Depends on your speakers. Mid ranged priced HiFi its ok good studio monitors ADAMS then yes I agree with you phone headphones then the finished track is better on Marshalls (pair of cabs (stereo) with pairs of G12T-75s and V30s) through QSC RMX power amps the sound on the video is a million times better. Its impossible to mixdown for all listeners/speakers, production is a middle ground and someone looses out. Modern mixing is 60% headphones and 40% others but a full flac mix will do HiFi just fine if you have a decent system. I find HoFO boring for anything half heavy and like my Marshalls/Celestions topped off with G12H-100 for higher end and Celestions B10s for Bass
