Fun fact- the IT guy is the star of the excellent Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, another quality comedy show I recommend. Also spotted him in Norwich a couple of times.
@@Whytesnake77 Seen more people reference it (including several of the Screen Junkies folks) which pleases me. Remember when I first saw it and laughing my head off.
One of my favourite episodes. Especially the computer guy-scene and the whole motivational scene. The guys "enthusiastic stare" into the camera at 14:52 kills me every time! Hilarious show!
Literally, working in an office I've had these motivational talks, you'd have thought they died out in the 80s 90s and 00s but they still going strong. My colleague and I constantly bring up this scene of laughing and dancing. so cringe but so funny.
I was a junior administrative assistant in the 00s and we had the motivational speakers too, I thought that they had died out back then also! 😁 Gutted for you, just look out of the window and watch the birds and squirrels like I used to. 🐦🐿😂❤
You've got to watch "Ricky Gervais outtakes and corpsing compilation" when you finish the office. It has a scene from this episode in it and it's hilarious. It's actually funnier than the show, in my opinion.
What we are seeing is people trying to appear busy and productive when they serve no actual useful purpose. This explains why those two hired David as a motivational speaker. They had to hire someone but they have no idea what they are doing.
I love your videos, Josh. The cringe is so bad in The Office I think i've only watched them all once. Even your abridged versions of the show are toe-curling, but your cut down version of the training/speaker part I couldn't get through and had to skip to the end. I recall watching it first time round, it's comic genius but I couldn't, and still can't, sit through it again. Keep up the great work.
I think the closest thing to non-comedy he's done is 'Inside No. 9' which he started last Saturday. Oh, and he's done quite a few films that aren't comedy.
I remember watching the 1st Series in summer 2001 and thinking Brent was just a rip off of Alan Partridge. It was around this point in series 2 I started to warm to it.
I don't find The Office funny. Maybe some scant 'huhs' of laughter. I always watch it, sometimes blank, sometimes grimacing. I see it as more of a commentary on the effects of public exposure than a comedy. It is genius in terms of social commentary, but in terms of comedy I find it barren.
Can't believe it's over 20 years since the Office was first broadcast in 2001 on bbc2.
Yeah, I was doing my GCSEs when this aired, crazy how time flies.
I can remember the trailers for it and recognising Ricky Gervais from the 11 O' Clock Show.
@@safeashouses211 Same I thought he was really crude. I also remember his chatahow on c4 in 2000.
It's crazy. I was 20 back then and remember the eps being shown on TV every weekend.
That was a great prediction when you said “the cringe might be too much…”
Lol 😂 so true
Fun fact- the IT guy is the star of the excellent Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, another quality comedy show I recommend. Also spotted him in Norwich a couple of times.
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is a hidden gem! Also featuring people from IT Crowd.
@@Whytesnake77 Seen more people reference it (including several of the Screen Junkies folks) which pleases me. Remember when I first saw it and laughing my head off.
Spooky. Just about to say that I saw him in Norwich a few years back. 😅
@@Garbage_Pail_Kid We do seem to attract a few of the comedy folk (Adam Buxton is a regular too!)
It's the same character he played in Bruiser (where Mitchell and Webb started out).
You dying with cringe made me laugh hard!
My mate used to leave the room cos he coudnt handle the cringe, so well done 😃
Just yesterday I watched all your Office reactions in a row and now this comes out! Was waiting for it! #uttersatisfaction 😄
‘Gone off Dawn now have you’ - the most cutting come back, cold as ice - just drops it
You must watch Garth Marenghi's Darkplace now you've seen the talent of Matthew Hollness(IT guy), if you haven't already.
This is the greatest sit com ever made
14:18 oh god I feel like I'm watching the bloopers reel of any show featuring Ricky xD
The Christmas Special is one of the greatest pieces of TV in history. Looking forward to you watching it!
Once you've finished The Office you need to watch the outtakes man, they're hilarious
One of my favourite episodes. Especially the computer guy-scene and the whole motivational scene. The guys "enthusiastic stare" into the camera at 14:52 kills me every time! Hilarious show!
That second when the cleaning lady shows up and interrupts says all you need top know about the comedic genius of this show
Josh - "I don't know if I'm ready for this" 😂

Definitely have a look at Garth Marenghis Darkplace!
Ahh what a treat to see this pop up on my recommended list 😀👏
Better than the American version by a country mile.

Agreed. The outages where he keeps changing the line about the Bishop 🤣🤣
+1 from me - all then outtakes from Ricky’s programs are class! Also, Max and Paddy and Phoenix Nights.
Bashing the bishop!!

As always great post brother 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
I can't wait for your reaction to the Christmas specials it's the perfect ending to a brilliant series.
One word Josh. Qualityyyyyyy! 😂
"Body fascism!" 😂❤😂
When this series ended, Gervais did David Brent on the Road" him trying to get onshowbiz, blowing all his money on a scrappy tour!!!😂😂😂😂
The motivational speaker Tony Robbins could have been.
I just saw Gog from Peep Show in the front row of the lecture.
I hope he asked Brent to go and get him a kebab
Which one do you prefer Josh? USA or British version?
The whole second series is soo toe curling.
14:46 You physically cringing made me laugh!
Brent is captain cringe..he should have a cape..😂🇬🇧👍
This episode is the front next ever!!!! David Brent just wants Approval so desperately you're embarrassed for him!!!
@josh you may not of noticed but Gog from Peep Show was sitting in the front row whilst Brent is doing is motivational speech.
It's been a while since I checked in on your channel. Congratulations on the 100k subscribers. You've earnt it, great channel.
Thanks for posting dude 👍😁🇬🇧…will we ever see Tay again on a reaction? 🤞🏻👍👍😃
I spotted the gog meister from Peep Show!
It's genius.
I love it but several of my office worker colleagues just can't watch it.
That's when you know it's real.
Ummm I don't know if up is down or down is up now. What am I doing for New Years Eve?
Okay, just read the big message that says it was recorded on New Years Eve..
Im just getting into yoga
New Years Eve?......It's April #
This was put on patreon on new years, it says in big writing in the corner
Once you've finished the series and the specials, check out the bloopers! God knows how they can get through a take with Ricky.
The UK Office is a masterpiece in originality. The US Office is a watered down comedy. Americans do not have long attention spans.
Yo.... Perfect timing 👍
Check out 'Life's Too Short' Josh!!! Seriously funny comedy by Ricky and Stephen!
A lot funnier than the American Version. Ricky Gervais should never have allowed the office to be remade in America.
This was pure pain/cringe.
What we are seeing is people trying to appear busy and productive when they serve no actual useful purpose. This explains why those two hired David as a motivational speaker. They had to hire someone but they have no idea what they are doing.
U should try watching, Dads army, Allo' Allo' and It Ain't Half Hot mum
Getting a cringe reaction is one of the greatest compliments you can get as a comedy writer.
I will never understand people who can't handle cringe comedy. Nothing makes me laugh harder.
Very funny, but so hard to watch for many of us
The guy in audience with beard who looks at camera… where’s he from? I recognize him from somewhere

The IT guy is surely what Dwight was based on in the US office.
The cringe is definitely too much sometimes!
Beg to differ.
A good new year???
Never seen you suffer from the cringe so much Josh 🤣
Such an iconic episode
👌🏼
Didn’t you upload this reaction recently?
Did you just reupload this? Watch the Gervais Corpsing vid.
And watch It's Always Sunny
David Brent at his cringiest!!!😄😄😄
😂😂❤
The cringe in this episode physically hurt 😂
The king of cringe, I occasionally have to skip scenes when I'm rewatching 😂
Would you consider doing anything non comedy? Something like doctor who or pesky blinders?
Damn those pesky blinders!
I think the closest thing to non-comedy he's done is 'Inside No. 9' which he started last Saturday.
Oh, and he's done quite a few films that aren't comedy.
toe-curling
😂
Uploaded 22 hours ago and taking about Nee Years celebrations???
