- I'm getting closer to finishing my Gilded Age bodice! This week, I will be adding embellishments to the collar, making the faux-lacing detail on the back, adding buttons and buttonholes, and starting on the back drape pieces.

Your videos are all Dora and Lion videos. It’s just the way it is. Anytime they grace us with their precious time.
There is a lots of ruffles, draping, ribbons etc on this dress so although you have a deadline I have enjoyed the extended videos watching you create this absolute confection piece by piece from a drawing! Wonderful!
Lion is cracking me right up with his "helping" so adorable
This is flat out amazing with all the draping, trims, & types of ruffles. Not to forget the sheer number of buttons! You are a crazy good seamstress!
Thank you!
Dora and Lion are looking good. And if you ask them they will tell you that everything is about them!
The gown is looking so lovely! Seeing the picture come alive is so much fun!
So much embellishments!
Dora begs to differ, this is indeed her video.
the more i see of this dress, the more i'm loving it!
also, looks like the furbabies wanted to help...or wanted pets and treats....maybe all of the above?
Typical pets, you sit on the floor for ONE SECOND and suddenly it's Attention Time 😂
So. Many. Buttons. I admire your patience. Can't wait to see the whole thing finished!
My cat looked at the screen when Dora meowed. So funny when you are trying to show the trim and there is a wagging tail. LOL. Outfit is amazing, amazed at your attention to detail.
I love it when Dora and Lion come to visit!!
This is just *chef's kiss* following along the making of this ensemble!
The dress is looking so good! And yes it's always Dora and Lions cuddle time💜 they are so cute🥰
You did sooooooooooo much!! You have so much patience with these projects, it's amazing. It is coming out so beautifully and I am sure you will finish it in time. Congrats on being in 'Ragtime', it's such a good play. Good luck with rehearsals.
Very, very interesting, especially watching you figure out the drape of the overskirt. You're an inspiration, and I can't wait to see you in that gorgeous dress!
I’m absolutely floored by this gown. I cannot decide my favorite part! Those ruffles and pleats at the bottom are just gorgeous, but the pleats and lace at your wrists, with all the layers- and the lacing detail at the back! Boom! I’m only halfway through this video and I just had to post! Going back, and may add to this! Wow and a half!
Those pleated cuffs are just everything! This is a beautiful confection that is delightful.
Watching videos can be so frustrating when you’re watching someone work out how to do something and you can see how to do it! When you were pinching out the fabric in the middle on the back drape I was pretty sure that was the way to go. Then I was internally screaming as you said, “I think it’s a right angle” and I was thinking, “noooo, it’s just the way the artist has drawn it, it’s not going to work!”. 🤣 I’m so glad you got there in the end and it looks fantastic!
I always used hook and eye tape rather than sewing them by hand. Unless there's only one or two to do.
Love the fur babies ‘helping’
You look gorgeous in green. Your gown is exquisite!!!!
Rebecca...Don’t you know by now it is ALWAYS about the Cat!?! 🤣🤣🤣 At least she’s not a long hair. I had a long hair for almost 17 years, miss that sweet boy, & he always considered my Yarn Basket as his Toy Box. Just the reality of living w/these graceful, yet also maddening at times, animals. 😊
Seriously, I love it when we get to see both of your gorgeous Fur Family. They’re both so adorable & gorgeous.
Speaking of gorgeous....This Dress is turning out just beyond gorgeous!! I love the look the ribbon look lacing gives to the back. Can’t put my finger on it, but it just makes my heart happy somehow. I can’t wait to see the entire finished product. I do love this Era, as they went so over the top w/the ruffles & the trim &....I just love it!! Good Luck w/the next parts & can’t wait to see the continuing progress of this Beauty. 😊
CANT WAIT FOR THE FINAL REVEILLE. ITS GOING TO LOOK GORGEOUS
The ruffle pleats that you have on your sleeve you should put that on top of the collar for a little 3d effect
Perfect idea
This dress is more is more and with everything going on down at the bottom which in my opinion is fantastic but the top needs more to balance it out.
Let's start a chant of more is more collar needs more..
Yep, as soon as I realised you were on the floor you were fair game for pat demands :D. Lovely to watch you sew and this is looking wonderful. All the best for your schedule, fingers crossed!
The back of that overskirt in the image reminds me of back in the 90's when we'd put our hair in a loose ponytail, make a gap in the middle above the elastic and flip the pony tail back through it. It created this kind of twist on either side of the ponytail before the elastic.
Haha! You're totally right.
The Victorian taste for More is More. That gown is lovely.
You really outdid yourself. Lots of work done. I agree with you, that the buttons on the lower front of the dress could have been just fine being decorative. But, they look great. Hopefully you'll be done on your next video.
This is a wild journey. Thanks for taking us along. Anxiously awaiting the finish.
I love your work ethic. I find you really inspiring!
first off, this dress is looking to pretty!! I can't wait to see how it looks when it's done :)
second, watching this series is making me want to make my own elaborately decorated bustle dress...says a person who does not own a corset and has done lots of sewing but nothing historical. Wish me luck!
You can do it!! Just make sure you do your Research down to the tiniest detail, get your Ducks in a row & then go for it!! I had help when I made my Arwen, what’s known as, Red Dress from The Lord of the Rings : The Return of the King, as I’m Legally Blind. I did do all of the Embroidery on the Trim, but I had limited sewing experience at the time & the Convention was coming up fast too, so I needed help & at one point it was me, my Mom, my Dad & a Cousin all working on it. 😊
That’s okay though, as we all need help at some point, right? As Rebecca said at the beginning of this Series, do your Research!! I had one of those expanding File Folders & you should see it. I had just about every picture of that thing or Liv Tyler wearing it I could find. I also checked out all of the LOTR Costume Sites I could find, printed off anything about that Dress & put it in the File. That thing was invaluable when it came time to make the thing.
I’m longing to make myself a Tudor Gown one of these days, but I also need to make myself a Corset or Stays. Then it’s a matter of finding the Fabrics. I’m leaning towards Burgundy for a colour for the Overdress & maybe something a wee bit brighter w/a Lace Overlay for the parts of the Kirtle that’ll show, but I’m just still in the thinking/dreaming phase. There’s also another couple of Arwen’s Dresses I’d love to do too, so we’ll see.
Good Luck w/your Dress when you do get around to making it!!!
Speechless…just speechless…😵💫
Gorgeous 💗 dress! Then...visitors lol so sweet
I love seeing this come together. I am so inspired by you!
I love watching your process
I thought it should just be one ribbon on th collar, but, it looks okay. Hope you finish it today!
You are so talented.
Totally in awe of your skills!
Wow! It's gorgeous, and I want to try it on. LOL!
xoxo's Sandie
Wow! It’s so beautiful! “ More is more” as far as trimming goes!!!
This is turning out sooooooo pretty!!!!
So gorgeous!
Your nails are so pretty 😍
it looks amazing!
I am really sure it is their video! #dora #lion
Definitely Dora's video :)
What do you mean the video is not about Lion and Dora! Love seeing them. How is Lion's leg, I hope it is getting better.
I don't know how you have the patience for all those pleats and trim, you are a marvel and an inspiration to us all. Best wishes xxx
Thank you! Lion is still on the mend. He's slowly using his leg more and more.
I think you’re clearly wrong; it is Dora and Lion’s (?) video, lol. The sewing content perfectly augments the star performances of the Rulers of the House!
Dora asked me to pass on the message that everything is hers. The dress. The floor. The video. You!
Next week!!!!???? Have a heart!!
The fashion plate looks like two rectangles in a half knot. 😳
🇨🇦😃 beautiful!
HI Dora!! ❤️❤️
"Really Dora, this isn't about you." "This is not your video."
Well, actually... 😻🐶
It’s always time for Dora and Lion, especially when you’re on the floor
Do you clip your curves? I think the weird collar issue can be solved by clipping curves if you haven't and then pressing over a tailor's ham before finishing the seam to encourage it to lie with your body. I think the puckering is caused by the tension of the seam allowance as it goes over curved planes.
Yep, I always clip my curves.
Yummy!
Gorgeous! Love the details. What size are your bows. Keep safe and well. ❤️Lynne
Thanks! I go more into the bows in detail in a slightly later video.
@@LadyRebeccaFashions I look forward to your bow details. I find it so hard to scale bows and ruffles etc. ❤️Lynne
Lion and Dora said all videos are ours
So cool! What foot did you use at 9 minutes? It looked Ike it stayed in lace based on the trim?
That's just my regular foot! I think Brother calls it the J foot?
I'm loving, loving, loving all the rufflely, pleaty, fringey deliciousness.
How is Lion doing after the surgery? I never found out!
He's doing better, but he still has to be reminded to walk on four legs most of the time.
@@LadyRebeccaFashions that's wonderful to hear!
I thought sitting on the floor was universal for “pet lovins”
Dora and Lion think it is their video and they have to entertain their fans
