I've used ios since iPhone 7. I brought pixel 8 pro. And put the iPhone down and gave the 15 pro max to the wife and haven't looked back.
Why? What are pros on the P8 Pro over the 15 PM? Just curious cause I’m considering of buying a new phone, am using a XR at the moment
Everyone likes what they like bud , I have both platforms , personally I think the pixel is good peg or two below the iPhone, the hardware on the pixel in some areas is without a doubt wanting , the finger print sensor for example, has a mind of its own and is very hit and miss , Face ID when it works on the pixel is fairly quick , but if the light is in the wrong direction , or it’s a bit dim or if you don’t position your face in exactly the right place , it also is very hit and miss .
Which is bloody annoying on what is allegedly a “ flagship phone “ .
The iPhones Face ID works 99.999999 % of the time and it will even work in pitch dark, and from my experience it will pick up your face from a wider angle.
The pixel is ok , whether you think a lot of the AI stuff is a bit gimmicky is entirely up to you.
I am a bit less impressed with it , and IOS love it or not imo does have more refinement to it.
I have the 8 pro , 14 pro max , a couple of galaxy models , one being the last of the galaxy notes before they started to get watered down , I still like the old note , but these days the big iPhone is the one I use as my daily.

Nice video! Pixel won the picture comparison for me, although for one or two pictures I preferred the iPhone. Some of the iPhone pictures look like they have some filter applied to it, giving strange colors. The Pixel 8 Pro on the other hand is a bit undersaturated in some scenarios.
I am disappointed that you discuss ProLog but not Video Boost. ProLog is a great feature that very few people will (be able to) use. Video Boost also uses a similar raw/flat profile file but here the editing is done by Google servers instead of you, saving you both time and battery. On top of that it is so easy to use! Yes, ProLog is more flexible for professionals, but these phones are not ideal for professional shooting anyway.
Also, I do not believe that ProLog will give better results than Video Boost. In both indoor and low-light situations Video Boost will work better, in ideal lighting it will be a matter of taste.

In terms of video, the iPhone still won it for me, but it's amazing how the difference between that and the Pixel is almost insignificant now

I have been using iPhones since the 2g. I got bored with the 15 line up and I pre order a P8P along with the pixel watch 2 and pixel buds pro and I love everything about my pixel I haven't gone back to iPhone at all.

There are tests out there that show that the heat management from the pixel is actually superior to the iPhone as well as the brightness holds up longer during gaming than the iPhone.
Pixel plays on lower graphics and settings and, of course, produces lower frame rates. If you were to tune these to produce 90FPS on Genshin, the iPhone would do that much better than the Pixel. It is about perspective. Genshin will get an update soon to use the A17Pro neural engine giving 33-50% better FPS using frame interpolation.
iPhone user here... tempted to buy several times the p8p but battery as I have seen on reviews kind of sucks I believe google still has some things to get right before being crowned king interested to see what the pixel 9 pro will be like

Pixel 6 definitely had reception issues. The Pixel 8 series does not have those issues.

I own a pixel 8 pro and i love it. Best phone ive ever owned but im open to admitting that there is no perfect phone. Its all up to preference. I love the Chip capability of the S23ultra and love the video quality of the iphone. That fan boy ish is just toxic and unrealistic competition.

Wifi and Cellular connections are extremely poor on pixel 8 pro. I keep losing signal all the time with pixel 8 pro.
From your review alone the Pixel 8Pro destroyed the iPhone. Picture quality want even close, I only picked 1 picture or if your line up that was from the iPhone. But the Pixel mic is lacking compared to the iPhone. Bought the Pixel 8 pro today. Thank you! Mostly based on the camera, battery life and Ai features.

I have both. I spent using Pixel 8 Pro more than iPhone 15 PM. Pixel 8 Pro has better still photo and smoother experience. Software is much better. No clear winner IMHO.
honestly the camera samples were obvious.. i loved the iphone 15 pro max's perspective, while i found pixel 8 pro's very dark and "aggressive" in multiple situations. I m thinking about buying the 15PM coming from a samsung phone. I always preferred the picture on the left side, so i think i m gonna do myself a favor!
I can understand that many will instinctively choose the first food picture of the iPhone over the Pixel. People will generally choose the more saturated picture especially if it has a yellow/warm cast. It also is more close-up than the Pixel which is preferable. I still think the Pixel did better, because it looks more natural (less color cast) and has focussed on the closest food instead of the pancake that is furthest away on the plate.
Still, if you honestly think all 🤯the iPhone samples were bettter, then yes, the easy way out would be to get the 15PM.
@@BasMeijer well I like the iPhone approach better and I m talking as a Samsung user. And also, the editing system of the iPhone is simple to use that can alter the way you have captured something. I really enjoy editing photos I have plenty of apps to do so. I like the fact that you can alter the saturation etc without the phone doing it automatically like the s23ultra's oversaturated photos

For example, do you even prefer the iPhone in the 2 shots after 7:37 (building and lake)? The iPhone tries so hard to make the sky look blue, that it gives the whole picture a blue tint. It is like there are these filters added to the picture automatically and they are difficult to remove. Editing on the iPhone is faster which I appreciate, but it is only simple because it is so restricted. You always have to use other apps to fix your pictures.

Google crushed it this year. The haptics, general photography performance, smart features and fluidity are second to none. Tue display is also phenomenal this year. If they can just get their stuff together with the chipset and battery life they'll have a true iPhone contender.
I returned my Pixel 8 Pro earlier today and am back on the iPhone 14 Pro.
In the meantime, I'll pick up the GS24 Ultra when that gets released. That was the phone I originally wanted to pick up... but wanted to explore and see what the Pixel hype was all about. I can see why it's got a good following. Keeping my eye on it.
I really liked the P8P though but will wait for the P10Pro to sort out a couple of things that weren't working for me, mainly modem issues and a need for more power. It's almost there for me and seeing how Tensor's been evolving, I think it'll hit what I'm looking for by T5.
The only downfall of the iphone is losing screen space, a giant cut out on a 1300 phone? They need to use the hole punch like android phones.

Yes, there are a load of apps that do this, so it is not like the S23U or the iPhone cannot do this, so I always see these as flexing, not being totally useful.
@@andyH_England It's the Google pixel app that's what lets me do it where I get my pictures from it's been on my phone before they start doing it as soon as they start doing it my phone was able to do it because I got the pixel Google app on the S10 plus Galaxy

Around 9:55 iPhone looks horrible compared vs the pixel. It gave you a blueish glow.
Pixel 8 Pro was better across the board in all cameras - even in video, in my opinion.
However, I bought 3 different Pixel 8's between Black Friday and Christmas and had issues with all 3 so they had to be returned.
So, i'm back on iPhone 15 Pro and we'll see how the Galaxy S24 looks.

I wouldnt say pixel 8 pro is the best representation of android, s23/24ultra is a better representation due to android's customizability.
I would still call the pixel, android's variant of the iphone because of the stock android + tensor chip (os + chip + model is all based on the same brand), as well as having the cleanest UI with no bloatware (apple has minimal compared to other androids)
