I freaking love that he was just working a normal job as a waiter when he auditioned and got the role of Steve. Just makes him that much cooler and more likeable for some reason. Good for him!!! I hope his career just blossoms after this chapter is over for him because he’s so friendly, talented, charismatic, humble and down to earth and deserves a wonderful, long, successful career ahead of him.

It's the classic movie trope only in real life. They didn't come from rich parents, they didn't grow up spoiled they had to work hard for what they achieved.
Fun fact: in the scene Jimmy Fallon showed, the part where Eddie Munsen says “Harringtons got her” “don’tcha big boy” was improvised and not in the script and you can see it a tiny bit in Steve’s face but it made it into the Final Cut. And I love this

He’s so perfect for Steve. I actually love the fact the brothers decided to keep his character alive because it’s so different! Steve is known as the popular douche bag boyfriend but they actually change the narrative and I love that. They showed that there’s so much more to his character and it’s not just the typical “douche bag athletic popular guy” in high school who dies off after season one. I really appreciate them keeping him around because it changes the dynamic! He adds so much value to the cast! His character is needed!! When I found out Joe Keery is 30 years old, I was so shocked!! He looks so young, not like most other actors who portray teens and you can clearly tell they are the the age their character is.
Legit thought he was anywhere from 19 to 24, never imagined I'd be so shocked to find out how he actually is. He's got great genes and looks like he takes good care of himself.
I will never get tired of how big of a fanboy Jimmy is over the Stranger Things cast. It’s seriously so relatable and I never get tired of him having them on there. I sincerely hope he tries to get Joseph Quinn on there next.
steve is my favorite character in the show, was super worried about him in season 4 but thankfully the brothers are aware of how loved he is and didn't kill him
When I saw the first episode with him it was like: "A one-dimensional jerky boyfriend who will die the horrible way in the last episode of season 1 - CHECKED". And then suprise :D Great actor and well written character. In fact the whole cast is the best knitted ensemble I've seen on TV lately. No weak links.
what i love about stranger things is that none of the actors were really huge at the time, and thats what makes them so good at it because they are perfect for the roles!
@@TheReelReesePod I agree with both statements. This is huge, but I think he means that he's going to get more diverse roles to be remembered for than just one show. Not to knock the hugeness of the show, just saying he's going to need to do other things to really be BIG.
As his character grows, i find Steve more and more relatable and lovable...He's actually quite dreamy and a big softy even though he complains that he's always the baby sitter 😄 The way he helps and protects everyone and treats everyone a friend and being understanding it's just amazing!
I love, and honestly feel that it's a sign of a genuine person, when "stars" name names of people who helped them get there or do work behind the scenes. It just seems like a trait that would keep them down to earth and not get a big head.
Love the character! Duffer brothers didn't just develop Steve "The Hair" Harrington... they allowed us to watch him mature into a hero, a friend, and a heartthrob (my daughters really love him). Steve really came across in 4 short seasons as a character arc who could spinoff his own series ♥️
I literally think that's the plan. They are NEVER going to kill Steve imo. If the spinoffs are major possibilities, which it seems they are from other cast members' interviews that Netflix are interested in, Steve will definitely have a spin-off for sure.
Steve Harrington is undoubtedly one of the best characters in the series, and we cannot deny that it is thanks to Joe's charisma and talent. He has a lot ahead of him. I love him
I really like the Steve character and how Joe Keery plays him. They could've kept him as being more one-dimensional like in season 1. But in Season 2 they showed him going through some growing pains which had an deep effect on him. By Season 3 he was getting a lot more depth and he had some of the funniest lines in the show!
He gets funny lines, but let's admit the delivery, Joe Keery's performance is what makes Steve so awesome. He can just make a weird noise or face and it's the best thing in the show 😂
Tbh I don’t think this many people would be watching the show like this without him.. he is such an important character- especially with everyone’s parents always being some where. They needed a character that was the “mom” of the group.
We all love Steve, he is our boy! One of the best characters in stranger things. He is fearless and always steps up to save the day. Thanks for the entertainment Joe!
Joe Keery is simply the best. I can’t wait for more of his upcoming music and roles. He deserves to be recognized for all the things he’s good at and it makes me so happy to see how humble, down to earth, authentic, real, and genuine he is. You simply can’t not love this guy. So proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished so far, Joe!
Joe seems to really shine in this interview. He comes across as such a pleasant, easy-going, genuine guy. Steve is definitely the heart of Stranger Things. Also, his music is so good -- I love his album Twenty Twenty. Looking forward to his new album, future projects, and the next season of ST!
Finally figured out why I love Steve...past season 1, he is one of the VERY FEW male characters across any form of media who exudes zero toxic masculinity. Love him.
I just LOVE the "sound effects" that Joe does in his conversations... 💕🤣 He is a lovely and kind person, Joe (as well as Steve) deserves all the love and recognition he's been receiving. 💕🍻
Out of all the stars of Stranger Things who will go beyond the show and become big names, Joe Keery is the number one. He has everything it takes and he is a sincere and humble guy and a super talented actor.
I don‘t think anyone could have played steve better! Steve is such a complex character in his own way - at first he‘s „just“ the jerky boyfriend but as the story unfolds we see his true personality + the rocky relationship with his father. Glad the duffers kept him
Tbh he’s had one of the best character arcs throughout the series, this last season I actually found myself watching more for the side characters like Steve/Robin/Eddie than the main characters
@@mehrinkarim805 secondary characters are still integral to a story, but i get your point. I guess in this latest season they are in more main roles, but i still consider Eleven & the party as the MCs of the series as a whole
I stopped watching for characters like Eleven & the gang a long time ago. She had like three emotions. Meanwhile Will always got pushed to the side, Mike's entire personality just turned into "I'm kind of a dick", and Lucas was borderline invisible. When watching s4, after they split into 4 different arcs thus causing the episodes to be really long (hawkins, russia, Eleven rediscovering her powers, and the cali crew), i would legit just skip through every Eleven or Cali crew scene to save myself the time
Joe Keery is the Ashton Kutcher of his generation! Great actors in their breakout roles (Stranger Things & That 70's Show, aka not overly intellectual but cute, along with being a good friend), fun in interviews, and eerily similar looking, probably because they both have great hair! All comparisons aside, I can't imagine anyone other than Joe Keery playing Steve Harrington. Thank you Duffer brothers for not killing him off in season one.

Legit thought he was anywhere from 19 to 24, never imagined I'd be so shocked to find out how he actually is. He's got great genes and looks like he takes good care of himself.
White people being shocked that someone looks young at 30 is so funny. You should see Korean actors in their 30s they look younger than him lol
@@rabiaalam2996 yeah i bet!!!! thank you so much for this comment it really added alot to the conversation and i found it very meaningful :).
@@forest1144 you’re white aren’t u
I will never get tired of how big of a fanboy Jimmy is over the Stranger Things cast. It’s seriously so relatable and I never get tired of him having them on there. I sincerely hope he tries to get Joseph Quinn on there next.
Not anymore cuz of doja cat
@@alexisquinana2189 but that’s with noah schnapp?
Joseph Quinn is scheduled to be on Jimmy Fallon on 7/25 (today)!!
It’s ur lucky day!
He was on, and omg, I loved it.
Joe Keery's hair never gets old, it's a classic👌
I have to admit though it's nice to see an interview where they're not talking about it.
Joe Keery is just perfect: a great actor, he can play the guitar and sing, he's got great style and personality.
steve is my favorite character in the show, was super worried about him in season 4 but thankfully the brothers are aware of how loved he is and didn't kill him
I adore him he just seems so wholesome and genuine. Steve is without a doubt my favourite character on the show ❤️
The way he instantly makes anyone like him and he's so sweet too. The duffer Brothers did a great job!

No weak links.
i cant imagine stranger things without him, he’s the gem of the show🥺
Joe brings another meaning to “Down To Earth” because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a celebrity this genuine.
I can't imagine the show without Steve. He's one of my favorite actors in Stranger Things.
what i love about stranger things is that none of the actors were really huge at the time, and thats what makes them so good at it because they are perfect for the roles!
Joe Keery is gonna be huge, bigger then he is now at some point. Love that guy
It’s hard to get bigger than this. Stranger Things is one of the biggest shows in the entire world, and he’s the most beloved character in it.
@@TheReelReesePod IKR , He is already World famous. I hope His music gets a little more bigger .
@@TheReelReesePod I agree with both statements. This is huge, but I think he means that he's going to get more diverse roles to be remembered for than just one show. Not to knock the hugeness of the show, just saying he's going to need to do other things to really be BIG.
@@TheReelReesePod he will be cyclops in the McU
@@DJ_SaulT_Nuts Thought it was Human Torch 😵💫
I’m glad they kept him. He is the perfect mom for the show
As his character grows, i find Steve more and more relatable and lovable...He's actually quite dreamy and a big softy even though he complains that he's always the baby sitter 😄 The way he helps and protects everyone and treats everyone a friend and being understanding it's just amazing!
seeing him talking about djo makes me so happy you have no idea, as a fan of his music for so long it’s amazing.
I love, and honestly feel that it's a sign of a genuine person, when "stars" name names of people who helped them get there or do work behind the scenes. It just seems like a trait that would keep them down to earth and not get a big head.
He's so Humble and down to earth, no wonder people loved him.
And People ask why Duffers don't kill his character lmaoo
This People , This is the answer. He is their baby brother .

He’s right. He’s a huge huge part of this show!! Can’t imagine it without him.
His development wasn't that crazy imo, he is one of the few who got any treatment, all the other ones are pretty much the same
Even in S1 he was showing his humanity.
“Yeah it’s me don’t cream your pants” was top 5 funniest lines in the show
He gets funny lines, but let's admit the delivery, Joe Keery's performance is what makes Steve so awesome. He can just make a weird noise or face and it's the best thing in the show 😂
@@mallorycarpinski1160 absolutely! His delivery is top tier
You're the heart of Stranger Things Joe Keery.. He's so genuine and down to earth person. Love you Steve Harrington! ❤️

Steve has become the best character of them all, his growth and charm since first season to the last one will always amaze me
From a character who almost died in S1 to a character fans would rally for in case he dies in S4. That's our Mommy Steve. 💕
i love how he's still got the classic 70s/80s vibe going on with the suit and shirt! So awesome!
Tbh I don’t think this many people would be watching the show like this without him.. he is such an important character- especially with everyone’s parents always being some where. They needed a character that was the “mom” of the group.
And it was for the best.
Steve has become one of the best characters on the show. The bromance between Steve and Dustin is top notch.
My favorite relationship of the show. Can't wait to see more of it!!
The only Duo I care about Steve and Dustin
steve and dustin are the best characters imo. dustin has always been the heart of the group and steve has had such a good character development
Have you heard his latest single, Change?
@@glamdawling I have!! I love it - preordered the shirt too 🥰
This was cute. Joe is such a lovely person. I loved watching this.
Finally figured out why I love Steve...past season 1, he is one of the VERY FEW male characters across any form of media who exudes zero toxic masculinity.
Love him.
I really can’t get enough of Joe, what a beautiful person in and out, his authenticity is so magnetic
Love them both so much. His performance in the whole series is incredible and Jimmy Fallon is always so fun to watch :)

I don‘t think anyone could have played steve better! Steve is such a complex character in his own way - at first he‘s „just“ the jerky boyfriend but as the story unfolds we see his true personality + the rocky relationship with his father. Glad the duffers kept him
Sure, steve's parents are still unknown. Just him alone in big house.
Joe Keery is such a nice, lowkey guy. Gotta love it.
Both Joes (Keery and Quinn) really just made this season 👏🏻💙
Guys IDK if you know, but this guy is a shockingly talented musician too. His music is so freaking good
Where can we see him play. What instrument?
been loving steve & him since season 1. Love this guy and can’t wait for him to get the recognition he deserves.

Joe is so cute and I could listen to him talk for hours. Definitely have him back, Jimmy!!
The bromance of Steve and Dustin is just wonderful! My most favorite characters
Tbh he’s had one of the best character arcs throughout the series, this last season I actually found myself watching more for the side characters like Steve/Robin/Eddie than the main characters
There are no side characters, they are all integral part of ST
@@mehrinkarim805 secondary characters are still integral to a story, but i get your point. I guess in this latest season they are in more main roles, but i still consider Eleven & the party as the MCs of the series as a whole
I stopped watching for characters like Eleven & the gang a long time ago. She had like three emotions. Meanwhile Will always got pushed to the side, Mike's entire personality just turned into "I'm kind of a dick", and Lucas was borderline invisible. When watching s4, after they split into 4 different arcs thus causing the episodes to be really long (hawkins, russia, Eleven rediscovering her powers, and the cali crew), i would legit just skip through every Eleven or Cali crew scene to save myself the time
The way Jimmy respects new actors and their struggle and makes them feel at home ❣️❣️

@@VULA you comment everywhere-
@@VULA but, good art,
Joe Keery is the Ashton Kutcher of his generation!
Which character did he audition for originally?

I wouldn't compare Joe Keery with Ashton - and Kutcher is not even attractive to begin with.
