Ive been f2p for about 6 years and ive only gotten about 16 cards to level 15 and for reference, level 15 has been out for an entire year and ive been getting to ultimate champion every season. Impossible to defend Supercell these days. You can easily get 100k gold in a week, getting enough cards to upgrade any card from lvl 13 to lvl 14 will take months even if it the card and its evo shard were on the season shop (considering you have the evo). Let's quickly do the math for a common card: You get 1k total cards from the season shop and 3 evo shard which convert to 3k cards, that's still only 4k out of the 5k cards needed for 24.5k season tokens It's less than half the value, which Supercell loves bragging about in the shop offers
@@Philyshark7 I think it depends on what arena or King level you are, but the higher it gets, the more gold chest get replaced by gold crates. For me I think at least every third chest is gold crate (not counting tower troop chests)

Tournaments were all lvl 9 so just unlocking the legendary was enough to play competetive just cuz u are a new player doesn't mean everyone else is

The devs are not the reason for the game’s death. I have made a comment on this video and a billion other videos about it, but basically a company (Tencent) bought out a chunk of Supercell, Clash Royale getting the worst, as 82% of the game was bought out. Tencent is known for monetizing games to death, and Clash Royale will eventually be killed aswell
I think a book of cards is better then a gold coin because it is easier to farm 100k gold then 5k common wild cards, 1250 rare, 200 epic, 20 legendary or 20 champions wild cards.
according to the evo shards patterns, we were about to get evo bomber and evo tesla shards. But supercell intentionally didn't put them on the shop knowing they are op (not as op when released) but still they are way better than Evo WB and evo zap shards!! another reason why i hate supercell. I haven’t seen anyone comment the way that they implemented the full evolution reward in the lucky drops. If you are lucky enough to get a full Evo in the drop, you better not get an evo you already have shards on it, because you will be getting just 3 free shards (or the number of shards you’re missing) instead of six shards you would’ve obtained from an Evo you have no shards at all. So basically by getting lucky you have the probability to get less shards, so in a way you’re discouraged to used your wild shards.

Supercell must add an OG tournament every month or second month, where there are no champions, tower troops and evos... and the cards stats must be how it was like in 2018 or around there... that would also make the tournament interesting as tge players wont remember all the stats and it would force us to connect with the games history... i mean the history of the game is all that keeps it alive...

It all comes down to the point that Supercell hasnt got the slightest idea how to monetize the game besides pay to progress. And they are not brave enough to try some things. It's really sad. I haven't seen anyone talking about the books' store rotation. They usually rotate based on the rarity but this season was the first one that skipped the legendary book. Obviously that's the only thing I needed for lvl 14 dagger duchess, and now they removed the book. Been playing for 8 years it's sad to see the game being so ass nowdays.
the books and wild cards from the season shop were one of the only ways to progress as a f2p player. without those options its basically impossible to progress, i only have my main deck maxed and its not meta so i basically cant play the game or reach ultimate champion. playing the game just feels like a chore at this point

That's a thing I realized almost immediately. Every time they add a progression buff they alway have to ration and remove progression equal to the amount added. I hate it. Like brawl stars whenever they add progression they never remove other, and sometimes just straight up gives free progression. Why can't cr do the same?

Funny how we just had a common book of cards this season. The 3 new op cards are rare, epic and legendary. The 4 other choices of books we should be getting this season allows you to upgrade one of these op cards (rare, epic, legendary or book of books). But instead, we get a magic coin. Coincidence? I think not.
I have excess common and rare book of cards because of the daily mystery chest. Epics i can level up at an ok pace. But A LOT of my legendaries are underleveled because getting them takes so damn long. I was relying on the legendary book of cards from the season shop to upgrade my legendaries one at a time but now even that plan will take a wrong turn.
As a free to play player since day one the main issue is still gold so I see this magic coin as a better option. I would rather upgrade one of my countless level 13 cards to 14 for free than getting a book I won’t use thanks to lucky drops giving me more than enough wild cards daily… EVEN FROM COMMON LUCKY DROPS you get common and rare wild cards. Also to add- the gold amount from lucky drops is abysmal at a measly 15000 gold AT MAXIMUM!
Also to add an example.. I have a rare book from 2 seasons ago along with 2000+ out of 1500 rare wild cards that I have no point using thanks to the gold economy being so low for F2P

I'm a Arena 1 (Zero trophy) player with experience level 47 and we have many people with multiple similar accounts in a clan full of zero trophy players. When new update dropped, we could see goblin tab for claiming community rewards but couldn't claim it because it didn't appear in the shop even though community rewards should be for all as well as I had claimed previous community rewards. I tried help and support 10s of times, live chat, they said they are working on but they didn't do anything until today instead of giving community rewards, the goblin tab is now disappeared. WOW SUPER(SCAM)CELL MOVE! I even mailed them and they said they are trying to fix it and said you should use help and support which I had already done still no response. I really needed those rewards and gold. Sadly now no hope left. I play this account every single day and this is basically my main account. Can't even try new stuffs and have fun in the game anymore. Then I thought maybe the rewards are for arena 11 and above but I can see all community rewards on ARENA 4 ACCOUNT. SCAMCELL strikes again. Btw I am happy to get magic coin cause I have sooo many cards to upgrade to level 14 but not gold.

Gold is only useful when youre starting out. But given just how boosted gold has been since lv15, there really isnt a need for the coin most of the time. Now its cards that are needed. Both to actually access the lv ups, and get more elite cards as well

Here's the thing. There's always gonna be someone who needs the coin and someone who doesn't. Clash Royale could solve this issue by simply adding all of the magic items into the season shop. Gives players the flexibility they've been requesting, gives you more things to spend season tokens on, and may encourage players to spend gems on the season shop. Then they could focus on monetizing the game through gems rather than miscellaneous in-app-purchases
I've been mostly maxed for a while, everything at level 14 and just grinding for elite wild cards to upgrade like 1 card a season. I'm sitting at 4.5 mil gold all the time because there's nothing to spend it on. And now, thanks supercell, I'm just going to be able to get something that lets me save my gold for...what? No clue!

Never felt the shortage of gold ever since the chess collab where the gave 7.5 M gold or smthn like that, the current goblin event gives 200k gold, we need shards to upgrade these cards, not gold
It's now kinda easy to get gold so the value of a gold coin has decreased but they sell it the same price as a book of card which hasn't lost any value. The book of cards was the last item that allowed us to upgrade a card of our choice as they removed wild cards from the shop some time ago. We now are back to the time where upgrading cards were luck-based
For those who are looking to quit this game and play some new game I suggest Marvel snap. I quit when level 15 came after playing from day 1 launch and started playing Snap. I can say that I can compete here f2p or just season pass and whales can buy their skin variants. And they do keep meta fresh with balance updates.
Gold is extremely short for returning players. Nice that they are giving us a chance to upgrade. I'm probably about 2 million gold short of maxing out my cards as a returning player
I believe their data shows the book has the highest sell rate in the season shop. So they understand it has higher value to players, I wont be surprise if next season the money shop will have tons of book offers with "x20" value.

for a normal person( not fully max but somewhat maxed) you get 100k gold and 100k gold gives you 5k ewc and the common or rare book would also give you 5k ewc and even epic book ( i have common and rare maxed) so it doesn't even matter to me

I feel so confused how much clash wants to cut rewards. I remember first seeing the gold pass changing in the update for losers and thinking this is the worst they'd do and believed it was just cause of "inflation" as they claimed...
Biggest thing Clash could do, but don't, is allow you to refund upgrades. Unlevel a card to get a refund of the wilds spent to level it. Obviously they would never do this at an equal rate, so only getting back something like 50% of the resources spent would still be nice.
Playing since 2016 and 1 time my main account got stole by hacker, I haven't got any book of cards from lucky drop, now they are removing it, I think it's time to leave clash royal for good...

Supercell must add an OG tournament every month or second month, where there are no champions, tower troops and evos... and the cards stats must be how it was like in 2018 or around there... that would also make the tournament interesting as tge players wont remember all the stats and it would force us to connect with the games history... i mean the history of the game is all that keeps it alive...

It all comes down to the point that Supercell hasnt got the slightest idea how to monetize the game besides pay to progress. And they are not brave enough to try some things. It's really sad.
You know what: I am willing to pay 10€ every month (maybe even more) if they guarantee that I am neither overleveled nor underleveled in every single game with all cards and Evos available for both players.

I haven't seen anyone talking about the books' store rotation. They usually rotate based on the rarity but this season was the first one that skipped the legendary book. Obviously that's the only thing I needed for lvl 14 dagger duchess, and now they removed the book. Been playing for 8 years it's sad to see the game being so ass nowdays.
Removing the book of books from battle pass made me stop buying it. Announcing level 15 made me quit for good.
the books and wild cards from the season shop were one of the only ways to progress as a f2p player. without those options its basically impossible to progress, i only have my main deck maxed and its not meta so i basically cant play the game or reach ultimate champion. playing the game just feels like a chore at this point

That's a thing I realized almost immediately. Every time they add a progression buff they alway have to ration and remove progression equal to the amount added. I hate it. Like brawl stars whenever they add progression they never remove other, and sometimes just straight up gives free progression. Why can't cr do the same?
Best case scenario is if they added the magic coin alongside the book in case some people want both or wanna pick one over the other

Funny how we just had a common book of cards this season. The 3 new op cards are rare, epic and legendary. The 4 other choices of books we should be getting this season allows you to upgrade one of these op cards (rare, epic, legendary or book of books). But instead, we get a magic coin. Coincidence? I think not.

I have excess common and rare book of cards because of the daily mystery chest. Epics i can level up at an ok pace. But A LOT of my legendaries are underleveled because getting them takes so damn long. I was relying on the legendary book of cards from the season shop to upgrade my legendaries one at a time but now even that plan will take a wrong turn.
As a free to play player since day one the main issue is still gold so I see this magic coin as a better option. I would rather upgrade one of my countless level 13 cards to 14 for free than getting a book I won’t use thanks to lucky drops giving me more than enough wild cards daily… EVEN FROM COMMON LUCKY DROPS you get common and rare wild cards.

the gold amount from lucky drops is abysmal at a measly 15000 gold AT MAXIMUM!

4 month cycle 3 time a year
1st month - legendary book
2nd month - epic book
3rd month - common book
4th month - magic coin
It should be a weekly cycle.

I'm a Arena 1 (Zero trophy) player with experience level 47 and we have many people with multiple similar accounts in a clan full of zero trophy players. When new update dropped, we could see goblin tab for claiming community rewards but couldn't claim it because it didn't appear in the shop even though community rewards should be for all as well as I had claimed previous community rewards. I tried help and support 10s of times, live chat, they said they are working on but they didn't do anything until today instead of giving community rewards, the goblin tab is now disappeared. WOW SUPER(SCAM)CELL MOVE! I even mailed them and they said they are trying to fix it and said you should use help and support which I had already done still no response. I really needed those rewards and gold. Sadly now no hope left. I play this account every single day and this is basically my main account. Can't even try new stuffs and have fun in the game anymore. Then I thought maybe the rewards are for arena 11 and above but I can see all community rewards on ARENA 4 ACCOUNT. SCAMCELL strikes again. Btw I am happy to get magic coin cause I have sooo many cards to upgrade to level 14 but not gold.

Gold is only useful when youre starting out. But given just how boosted gold has been since lv15, there really isnt a need for the coin most of the time. Now its cards that are needed. Both to actually access the lv ups, and get more elite cards as well

Here's the thing. There's always gonna be someone who needs the coin and someone who doesn't. Clash Royale could solve this issue by simply adding all of the magic items into the season shop. Gives players the flexibility they've been requesting, gives you more things to spend season tokens on, and may encourage players to spend gems on the season shop. Then they could focus on monetizing the game through gems rather than miscellaneous in-app-purchases
I've been mostly maxed for a while, everything at level 14 and just grinding for elite wild cards to upgrade like 1 card a season. I'm sitting at 4.5 mil gold all the time because there's nothing to spend it on. And now, thanks supercell, I'm just going to be able to get something that lets me save my gold for...what? No clue!
They most likely didn't remove it, but rather added the Magic Coin to rotation with the books

Never felt the shortage of gold ever since the chess collab where the gave 7.5 M gold or smthn like that, the current goblin event gives 200k gold, we need shards to upgrade these cards, not gold
It's now kinda easy to get gold so the value of a gold coin has decreased but they sell it the same price as a book of card which hasn't lost any value. The book of cards was the last item that allowed us to upgrade a card of our choice as they removed wild cards from the shop some time ago. We now are back to the time where upgrading cards were luck-based
The next step is to replace wild cards from lucky drops by a random card
For those who are looking to quit this game and play some new game I suggest Marvel snap. I quit when level 15 came after playing from day 1 launch and started playing Snap. I can say that I can compete here f2p or just season pass and whales can buy their skin variants. And they do keep meta fresh with balance updates.

I've been at 5m gold for like a year. The books always gave me 5000 elite wildcards to get my cards closer to level 15. This coin is useless
I believe their data shows the book has the highest sell rate in the season shop. So they understand it has higher value to players, I wont be surprise if next season the money shop will have tons of book offers with "x20" value.

for a normal person( not fully max but somewhat maxed) you get 100k gold and 100k gold gives you 5k ewc and the common or rare book would also give you 5k ewc and even epic book ( i have common and rare maxed) so it doesn't even matter to me

this is crazy and doesnt make sense...if its too much value then make it more expensive...you want to add the coin ok do it but dont remove the last good thing in the season shop for it...just put both in the shop make it more expensive but every player can then choose what he needs...some are probably picking the book ...a few players maybe need the coin...but there are literally no jokers in game anymore...the path of legends has sooo few and the season shops joker were removed...book now as well... season shop was the last thing keeping me playing for progress now i dont even know why i should play...just to get 3 evo shards while 2 new evo cards get added

Biggest thing Clash could do, but don't, is allow you to refund upgrades. Unlevel a card to get a refund of the wilds spent to level it. Obviously they would never do this at an equal rate, so only getting back something like 50% of the resources spent would still be nice.
Can we all just agree that it doesn't matter that they changed the book to a coin, because no f2p player will get a card to lvl15 anyway.

Glad I switched to COC this past month, bc this game is over. Tencent does not hear a single word of what the CR community is saying. Tencent has ruined so many games since they just buy them out, then monetize them till death (literally). Clash Royale is going through this fate, and there is nothing you can do about it
