I was in the same boat. Came back after 3 years and bought season pass to find it was heavily nerf. To make it worse everyone was rocking the duches which seemingly killed everything I had. The meta was so defensively focused with rocket cycle that it bored me.

The fact they removed the books from season shop is actually outrageous. I know there are soooo many people like myuself who benefited from it each month to get cards from lvl 13 to 14. I honestly dont understand supercells thought process between each update to make the game 10x worse 🤦🤦🤦
I think their thought process is like: 1. slow players ability to progress any faster over time 2. make every step to actual progress by spending money 3. releasing new stuff wether for the better or worse for the game, just for them to make more money to keep the game somewhat alive 4. release a new card, make it cost a lot of money and nerf it a bunch of times for the players money to not have been worth spend 5. not caring about the communty

Thank you for your video, let me give you a little testimony. I liked this game more than any other, I was never a great player but I have a world top 2400, challenges 20 wins, GC… All that just to say that I was a guy who sanded the game for hours and loved it. Level 15 was very difficult to endure but it was still possible for me to max 2-3 decks, however, when you are limited like this you can only decide to take "safe" choices that pass all metas (hog 2.6, earthquake pig, minor poison and 1 or 2 other archetypes maximum). Level 15 initially gave me less fun playing because I always liked to diversify my decks. The straw that literally prevented me from continuing to play was the release of the Duchess Tower, already since I didn't have the gunner, I found myself having unusable max decks and the Duchess offers far too much 'benefits. I'm honestly sad, really, to see what has become of the game I loved so much. As I write this comment I remember everything, about me being this motherfucker in middle and high school because I was the best in my school, the vocals on Discord, the competitions to win 20 euros which I used to buy kebabs (100% real), the CW organized the old fashioned way between the esports teams... Thanks for everything Clash Royale, we'll never see each other again, you and me, Goodbye old man comrade. Take care of yourself, I love you. A french guy ❤

Brawl stars experiences the same things as cr . We have brokenly op brawlers, only available if you pay a 20$ early access. Then after the early access offer is done and the brawler releases for everyone, supercell nerfs it. Level 15 is similar to hypercharges, i wouldnt be suprised if power 12 would be released. The difference is that bs is a much more enjoyable game for casuals because you dont have to grind that much, and you can play with friends. But the competitive scene is getting worse and worse with too many broken brawlers.

CR is in a fatal feedback loop. Revenues drop so they start rippng everyone off which alienates people so revenues drop so they think they need to rip people off more... eventually you are selling people intentionally designed invincible cards for $60 they they plan to make unplayable a month later.
What's most stupid about all of this- If supercell actually did listen to the pro players, the content creators, the community in general, they would be making 5 times more money with 5 times the amount of daily players...quite literally. They have done such a bad job it's Unbelievable. From every perspective, just horrible. They have ran the game into the ground so deep it's not even fixable and they didn't even make much money despite every change they made revolving around making as much money as they can. Just a complete failure, that's the CR team.

crazy thing is how in 2017 even though leveling up cards was really hard even then, you could still do so well as F2P since even random decks could take you pretty far
@@FullAltOsurandomization guaranted you to have lot of card that you can play and upgrade. And yes you can't focus on one deck to grinding. But playing lot of deck and doing random interaction is what i like about this game. 😅 After Hero and Evo card released it's hard to get them as F2P player. No fun anymore.
A few seasons ago, they remove the wild cards in the season shop and lock them in lucky drops. Now in the July season, they decided to remove the book and replace it with a magic coin. The book was considered one of the best rewards in the season shop and they decided “fuck it” and remove it. The magic coin is really not as good as any book.
Morten, it's great that you're standing up for the cr community. Clash Royale has been one of my favourite games, filled with so many good memories. I hope Supercell understands the downfall and they start making good updates for the sake of the game.
I also have to point out the love hate relationship with the game. For example, i will take FullTilt Gaming. He is a relatively small channel that responded negatively to B-Rad. (He said that the game is actually improving from lvl 15 and the last updates (lucky drops, goblin queen) are a step to the right direction, and the community is just toxic). I think there is a distant shade of truth in his words, i think that the community became toxic, but thats exactly caused by extreme unfairness in the game. Also, all the improvements have been shaded by other issues: for lucky drops, we got the removal of wild cards in the event shop. In a few words, the game is getting stale and unfun and players are actually fed up with this. Also, FullTilt probably talked positive just for the creator code, and that angered the community even more Hope you enjoy this little essay

Abt the oj part he used to make like day1 guides for cards but thats impossible to do rn cuz whenever they release a card we all know how much every card will ne nerfed/reworked for months before they are actually balanced....
I think the main problem and its something that the players like OJ (whales) don’t seem to understand is that of course he is having fun since he is maxed out and has everything unlocked almost day 1, he can afford switching decks and try basically anything because he PAID for it. Most of the players barely have 2 maxed out decks and even then it won’t be enough because either they literally can’t afford to upgrade more stuff or that the meta is just all over the place, this isn’t shitting on OJ or anything but I wish he could address this problem wich is without a doubt the main reason non whale players are not having an enjoyable experience or straight up leaving the game. This game right now is just enjoyable if you pay your way to max your account period.
And I mainly refer to OJ because even if he jokes like “oh im just the .001% of the actual spenders in the game, my opinions are not valid” that is straight up not true, Supercell clearly knows who he is and the reach he has
Also it would be nice if they add trade tokens for champions, and EWC in season shop and sell it by different packs. For example: 5000 EWC costs 2500 tokens, 10000 EWC costs 5000 tokens, 15000 EWC costs 7500 tokens and make every pack 3 times available to buy them.
This game was a well thought competitive phone game with defined interactions that people could master to compete. It has become a money grab with all sorts of new interactions such that it's a different learning curve than it used to be. This occurs every month because of all the shenanigan interactions being introduced monthly. I have been playing since launch day in the same clan. I'm close to max but I don't care about advancing in game modes any longer. Like OJ, I just try to have fun with the cards because the meta will shift month to month as they release another overpowered evolution. Then the pros and content creators will say it's OP and needs an emergency nerf and SC will then nerf it (after they've made sufficient money on it). The whole thing will repeat itself the month after that.
I feel like it would be a good idea to add the ability of having big rewards in ingame tourneys to the creator code badge So its easy to keep track of who can do so for supercell and so creators have an easy way to bring some small ammount of hype back Also maybe add the functionality to ban cards for that tourney for the creator Its not gonna fix the game not even close but atleast they'll have a point to them again
It’s competitiveness is what drew me in as a kid, making decks with friends and being able to effectively counter cards with the same amount of elixir or less with good placement

Same, I played since day 1 and didn't take the game seriously for at least 4 years already, mainly because the balance changes barely make a dent to the meta.
been playing the game since its launch, though on multiple different accounts. started playing it as a preteen in China. i used to play CR everyday and grinded the hell out of it, but ever since champions came out, i stopped playing so frequently, and with the recent updates, ive basically stopped playing altogether say for 2v2 with friends sometimes
Supercells only game with no problems is brawl stars but that’s only because they listen to the community all they have to do to fix these problems is respond to our calls
Here are the changes which are needed. Card Mastery the level 14 one should give enough ewc to upgrade a card from lvl 14 to 15. Evo shards should not be a thing. Evos should be released to everyone as soon as they are released. And monthly balance changes.

I quit this game (completely) right after they announced how to get lv15. Even if they make 2016 card only season I wouldn't be back. Unless they make everyone's card level equal to 9/11 or whatever level and don't allowed evo cards then I'll consider get back to play a bit for the nostalgia.

I don't get why everyone keeps preaching to Supercell.....they don't run the show....they're owned by "Tencent" a chinese investment company. They tell Supercell what they do and don't do. Supercell sold their soul years ago, and their original balanced gameplay is a thing of the past....Tencent want their money
But you can get free equipment item for free after the released if you grinding the event for a month (if you F2P players like me). The downfall they can't balance the equipment really. They should focus on the ability, not the heroes stats adding (like warden eternity books which only give warden immortality area for certain time). After that, the game was very easy for th 14 because root rider. Luckily the just nerf it after 6 months 😂. For lower townhall like Th 11 or th 12, we don't have main issue.
also for level 15, all rarite costs same amount which is weird... they should differ IMO common should be cheaper... and chamption/tower troops the costliest and so on

Yeah I was a player in 2019 I loved the game at that time playing all day starting watching OJ, B-rad and you and the competitive scenens were also interesting made it so good but then starts the downfall with 15 I think so where the free to play accounts were like unplayable and me reaching the legend league was impossible with 14 cards with upsard matchups and impossible progression this game is not fun anymore 😢😢 I want the old game back

The only fun I had in months in this game was that classic decks challenge, 1 evo only, only princess tower, apart from evo wizzard and lava hound, everything felt fun and competitive. The last update, disgraceful
i think the most important thing is they should make a mode that can let a player play with all card with all evo at tournament level, as a esport game, its very stupid that if people dont paid, they cant play all cards at tournament leve, it restricted many new play to be a pro actually, also killed many potential pro player to train for a pro, not everyone willing to pay for a game, especially every new card and new evo, this make this game getting less pro player
I used to be able to compete in this game until they added level 15. I was around top 50 in my country constantly and after that it became impossible to win games purely based on level differences and people that simply spent money for the most broken combinations. It's sad to see. Ive loved Supercell games since 2012. I remember they released Hay Day, and i thought it was a pretty chill game. But Clash Of Clans was the one that really caught my attention. Ive supported and enjoyed their games ever since. Now it just feels like I lost an old friend, and they got replaced by some money hungry robot. Its so sad to see this happen, especially just how rough this last year has been for them. Even their other games are starting to get slowly lost in greed. It truly does feel like the end of an era is nearing for them. I just wish they'd at least let it die out with honor instead of bleeding all the money they can from it. It feels like a huge slap in the face as someone whos supported them since the beginning
The goblin update was sort of a good thing for F2P, and I guess Supercell realized that because they decided to drop 2 evos in the next season and every time they've done that so far only one was included in the pass (also probably not a coincidence that it's usually the less broken one between the two) It's getting harder and harder to justify playing this game. I miss what it used to be, I love the nostalgia of the 2016-2019 era. It didn't have to be this way, yet here we are. RIP this game 💀

I've been playing CR since the first day released (I was literally 9 years old) I grew up playing this game. so sad seeing the game ive been playing for more than 8 years ending like this, I still remember when i first unlocked the night witch or the broken mega knight from the challenges back then. for me, im sick of this game. I'm a F2P player with two completely maxed out lvl15 decks, 9000 trophies- 2000+ in path of legends every season. now I feel like im playing fake CR. i don't want OLD CR to back cuz its impossible, just making the game more competitive and less pay to win is completely enough for me.

I used to play the game for 3 years, FTP ofcourse. After 3 years I maxed out everything to level 13 and was pretty happy and satisfied about it. Cos ladder is now atleast fair now. But then they introduced level 14, and now I have to spent another year or so to max my king tower to atleast make it fair to play ladder. So I uninstalled and deleted my account info so I don't come back to this. Now level 15 is introduced, I'm glad I quit earlier. 💀
Please Morten, tell Supercell to remove Tower Troops, at least in ladder! And tell them also that we don't need to climb every single season useless steps to get in the path of legends :D

A few seasons ago, they remove the wild cards in the season shop and lock them in lucky drops. Now in the July season, they decided to remove the book and replace it with a magic coin. The book was considered one of the best rewards in the season shop and they decided “fuck it” and remove it. The magic coin is really not as good as any book.
I rely on the books each sEason to upgrade my cards and now they are gone

Morten, it's great that you're standing up for the cr community. Clash Royale has been one of my favourite games, filled with so many good memories. I hope Supercell understands the downfall and they start making good updates for the sake of the game.
Meanwhile, COC developers are accused of abusing copyright system on youtube. Supercell, how are you making so much bad decisions?
I also have to point out the love hate relationship with the game.
For example, i will take FullTilt Gaming. He is a relatively small channel that responded negatively to B-Rad. (He said that the game is actually improving from lvl 15 and the last updates (lucky drops, goblin queen) are a step to the right direction, and the community is just toxic). I think there is a distant shade of truth in his words, i think that the community became toxic, but thats exactly caused by extreme unfairness in the game. Also, all the improvements have been shaded by other issues: for lucky drops, we got the removal of wild cards in the event shop.
In a few words, the game is getting stale and unfun and players are actually fed up with this.
Also, FullTilt probably talked positive just for the creator code, and that angered the community even more

crazy how even nerfing all evolutions practically did nothing to their state in the game. Also I have no idea how a balancing team can release 3 cards that are so overpowered that you need to emergency nerf all 3 of them 2 times immidatelly
Abt the oj part he used to make like day1 guides for cards but thats impossible to do rn cuz whenever they release a card we all know how much every card will ne nerfed/reworked for months before they are actually balanced....

I think the main problem and its something that the players like OJ (whales) don’t seem to understand is that of course he is having fun since he is maxed out and has everything unlocked almost day 1, he can afford switching decks and try basically anything because he PAID for it.
Most of the players barely have 2 maxed out decks and even then it won’t be enough because either they literally can’t afford to upgrade more stuff or that the meta is just all over the place, this isn’t shitting on OJ or anything but I wish he could address this problem wich is without a doubt the main reason non whale players are not having an enjoyable experience or straight up leaving the game. This game right now is just enjoyable if you pay your way to max your account period.
And I mainly refer to OJ because even if he jokes like “oh im just the .001% of the actual spenders in the game, my opinions are not valid” that is straight up not true, Supercell clearly knows who he is and the reach he has
Also it would be nice if they add trade tokens for champions, and EWC in season shop and sell it by different packs. For example: 5000 EWC costs 2500 tokens, 10000 EWC costs 5000 tokens, 15000 EWC costs 7500 tokens and make every pack 3 times available to buy them.
Then this would lower their rate of making money. But this would definitely be what the players want.

This game was a well thought competitive phone game with defined interactions that people could master to compete. It has become a money grab with all sorts of new interactions such that it's a different learning curve than it used to be. This occurs every month because of all the shenanigan interactions being introduced monthly.
I have been playing since launch day in the same clan. I'm close to max but I don't care about advancing in game modes any longer. Like OJ, I just try to have fun with the cards because the meta will shift month to month as they release another overpowered evolution.
Then the pros and content creators will say it's OP and needs an emergency nerf and SC will then nerf it (after they've made sufficient money on it). The whole thing will repeat itself the month after that.
I feel like it would be a good idea to add the ability of having big rewards in ingame tourneys to the creator code badge
So its easy to keep track of who can do so for supercell and so creators have an easy way to bring some small ammount of hype back
Also maybe add the functionality to ban cards for that tourney for the creator
Its not gonna fix the game not even close but atleast they'll have a point to them again

Creators who profit from CR are also criticizing the game itself. CR has gone down so hard.
Supercell really needs to wake up, although I suspect that the issue is in TenCent, not Supercell.
I mean at this point, for pro play(maybe new ranked mode?), but add a ban system for cards or something if they are just gonna keep releasing these ridiculous cards on release.
Same, I played since day 1 and didn't take the game seriously for at least 4 years already, mainly because the balance changes barely make a dent to the meta.
Maybe add a single or maybe two evo shard in the Royal chests, we don’t even get those chests often
been playing the game since its launch, though on multiple different accounts. started playing it as a preteen in China. i used to play CR everyday and grinded the hell out of it, but ever since champions came out, i stopped playing so frequently, and with the recent updates, ive basically stopped playing altogether say for 2v2 with friends sometimes
Supercells only game with no problems is brawl stars but that’s only because they listen to the community all they have to do to fix these problems is respond to our calls
Here are the changes which are needed. Card Mastery the level 14 one should give enough ewc to upgrade a card from lvl 14 to 15. Evo shards should not be a thing. Evos should be released to everyone as soon as they are released. And monthly balance changes.

I quit this game (completely) right after they announced how to get lv15.
Even if they make 2016 card only season I wouldn't be back. Unless they make everyone's card level equal to 9/11 or whatever level and don't allowed evo cards then I'll consider get back to play a bit for the nostalgia.
The biggest problem for me is taking out the competitiveness. The game was so great because of the strategy but they’re taking that out with this bs

Im never getting out of silent temple, I try to create original decks but keep falling back to meta cards that are higher level. I just want to use fun cards without being punished for it
Seriously i am at 7209 trophies and i reached big champion but i can't go much further because everyone has two evo and i am level 14 i mean i can't unlock my potential i mean in the mega draft tournament i played against akaza which is top 1 on the world right now and i beat him definitely i am not mo light but also I am not a bot i wish i could've had maxed out cards and a chance to compete actually in cr, also love you morten you are my best UA-camr ❤
I don't get why everyone keeps preaching to Supercell.....they don't run the show....they're owned by "Tencent" a chinese investment company. They tell Supercell what they do and don't do. Supercell sold their soul years ago, and their original balanced gameplay is a thing of the past....Tencent want their money
it's not just clash royale right now, apparently clash of clans is also on some beef with the new hero equipment.

But you can get free equipment item for free after the released if you grinding the event for a month (if you F2P players like me). The downfall they can't balance the equipment really. They should focus on the ability, not the heroes stats adding (like warden eternity books which only give warden immortality area for certain time).
After that, the game was very easy for th 14 because root rider. Luckily the just nerf it after 6 months 😂. For lower townhall like Th 11 or th 12, we don't have main issue.
also for level 15, all rarite costs same amount which is weird... they should differ IMO
common should be cheaper... and chamption/tower troops the costliest and so on

I stopped playing after Dagger dutchess. Was always at a disadvantage, losing more games unless I upgrade or spend.
The only thing that keeps me playing is the ocassional 1v1 with irl friends no ladder no leagues screw that and most importantly no evos
Imagine being a company where your newer games are not working but rather than make existing one more fun and better in long run which in turn would make more money in coming years, you are just hellbent on making it un-fun all for short term gains. The case study coming out of CR in future will be so interesting for mobile gaming industry lol

Yeah I was a player in 2019 I loved the game at that time playing all day starting watching OJ, B-rad and you and the competitive scenens were also interesting made it so good but then starts the downfall with 15 I think so where the free to play accounts were like unplayable and me reaching the legend league was impossible with 14 cards with upsard matchups and impossible progression this game is not fun anymore 😢😢

The only fun I had in months in this game was that classic decks challenge, 1 evo only, only princess tower, apart from evo wizzard and lava hound, everything felt fun and competitive. The last update, disgraceful

i think the most important thing is they should make a mode that can let a player play with all card with all evo at tournament level, as a esport game, its very stupid that if people dont paid, they cant play all cards at tournament leve, it restricted many new play to be a pro actually, also killed many potential pro player to train for a pro, not everyone willing to pay for a game, especially every new card and new evo, this make this game getting less pro player

I used to be able to compete in this game until they added level 15. I was around top 50 in my country constantly and after that it became impossible to win games purely based on level differences and people that simply spent money for the most broken combinations. Truly a sad way to quit the game i loved

It's sad to see. Ive loved Supercell games since 2012. I remember they released Hay Day, and i thought it was a pretty chill game. But Clash Of Clans was the one that really caught my attention. Ive supported and enjoyed their games ever since. Now it just feels like I lost an old friend, and they got replaced by some money hungry robot. Its so sad to see this happen, especially just how rough this last year has been for them. Even their other games are starting to get slowly lost in greed. It truly does feel like the end of an era is nearing for them. I just wish they'd at least let it die out with honor instead of bleeding all the money they can from it. It feels like a huge slap in the face as someone whos supported them since the beginning

The goblin update was sort of a good thing for F2P, and I guess Supercell realized that because they decided to drop 2 evos in the next season and every time they've done that so far only one was included in the pass (also probably not a coincidence that it's usually the less broken one between the two)
It's getting harder and harder to justify playing this game. I miss what it used to be, I love the nostalgia of the 2016-2019 era. It didn't have to be this way, yet here we are. RIP this game 💀

sadly they can't really fork the attention, everyone has to transition to whatever they choose or it doesn't work finnancially, could also be more challenging/risky. They know they're gonna nerf the new busted cards anyways. I think they can take a more conservative approach but they would need to account everyone not just top people
I've been playing CR since the first day released (I was literally 9 years old) I grew up playing this game. so sad seeing the game ive been playing for more than 8 years ending like this, I still remember when i first unlocked the night witch or the broken mega knight from the challenges back then. for me, im sick of this game. I'm a F2P player with two completely maxed out lvl15 decks, 9000 trophies- 2000+ in path of legends every season. now I feel like im playing fake CR. i don't want OLD CR to back cuz its impossible, just making the game more competitive and less pay to win is completely enough for me.

I got on after months of not playing joined a random clan and played a clan war IT WAS SO UNBALANCED I had level 13 cards and going against level 15 cards with idk what those towers are WHAT
The fact is that we all, creators or not, always complain about their shit work and how they ruined the game itself, but we still end up giving them money buy buying BPs, evos, offers etc. Words will ever not be enough to make a change, people have to take actual actions and be partecipating on it as a big group, to change something. This is the only way to make them hear us out, for once
if u don't buy somone else will and he will smash you in ladder and smash all pro players in crl tournaments using broken card , they can't just not buy the cards they're broken and they have to get them to use them

I used to play the game for 3 years, FTP ofcourse. After 3 years I maxed out everything to level 13 and was pretty happy and satisfied about it. Cos ladder is now atleast fair now. But then they introduced level 14, and now I have to spent another year or so to max my king tower to atleast make it fair to play ladder. So I uninstalled and deleted my account info so I don't come back to this. Now level 15 is introduced, I'm glad I quit earlier. 💀
