Hi Amy! I love the afghan! The vase with paint on does look cool with the gold coming through! What a fun video! I’m looking forward to Thursdays video! 🌟💓🤗
I would try CitrusStrip to take off the paint. I have stripped several Haeger Mother and Child statues with CitrusStrip. One was painted white and after stripping it’s a beautiful matte navy blue. You can always buy gold paint and repaint or any other color if the stripping does not work. Of course I find it fun to bring back the item to its original color. I have stripped furniture too.
If you want to get the paint off of that vase, use a metal bristle car tire cleaning brush ( about the size of a large toothbrush), it will get into the nooks & crannies if you want to uncover the original weeping gold✨
First, that pottery sculpture is fabulous. I wouldn’t let that one go. And on the vase, I believe the weeping gold would be a fired on glaze and if you soak the vase in warm water and use a soft brush you should be able to get all the white paint off. It’s sellable either way but I’d try to get the paint if it was mine.
Hi, Laura! It is such a cool piece. I keep a lot of art, but I need to sell some so I can keep some. Lol Good to know on the weeping gold. It’s nice to know that I have that option. 🤗
Hi! I love a good debate and believe you are correct, that the white can be removed. I think it would sell either way but, would sell for more in its original condition.
Hi, Amy. No the vase is definitely not ruined. I remember similar pieces from the 60's,with gold applied in a spatter pattern. Idk if you should clean it anymore, it looks good.
Thanks, Liz! You're right! I remember the splatter too! I did just a smidge more cleaning, to show some gold on the handle and on the base. I'm happy with the way it looks. 😊
You are awesome Amy! I just love your videos, they make me happy. Good on Irf finding what he loves. Having a day out with people you love and finding things they love is the best! I'm with your Mum on the furniture hardware! Beautiful. The crochet/ knitted throw is very well done. Mustard isn't my colour but I very much appreciate all the work gone into the design. You found some cool things. I dig the white and gold vase/pitcher piece. You'll finish it very nicely Amy, you have a good eye!
I think you are awesome too, Karen! 🤗 I always look forward to your comments! 💕 I loved editing this video because of my mom and all her observations and expressions! That hardware scene and where she said “you look at ‘pot-ree,’ I look at jewelry” was the best!! I don’t have mustard in my living room, but I’m so attracted to it, I feel like I need to make a space with gray, cream and mustard! I rubbed off some more of the white on that vase. I really think it looks cool! “Distressed.” 🤗💕
Did you go in the late morning or early afternoon!? It was crazy packed!! I was so glad to be leaving when we did. I’m just getting into jewelry! I love the cheap costume stuff too! 🤗
Ok the afghan is to die for and would look fabulous with the even out gold tone vase. I would enjoy both of them for some fall living room decor. How Fun!
Thanks, Renee! I love that afghan too and am trying to figure out where I need to incorporate some mustard into a room! 😊 You’re right, it would go nice with the distressed vase! 🤔 No! I can’t keep both! Lol
Guess I'll save judgement on the vase about the gold, til I see it up close. It was fun to hear myself making comments around the flea market. Pottery/jewelry.
@@atlantadeb7139 I once did a bathroom around some cobalt blue glasses, it turned out great! =) I'm happy that you think the stuff I find is "cool" =) 💕
I truly enjoyed the Video!!! What a Fun day to head out to a flea market!! Especially with the people you love!! Gorgeous afghan !! I cannot believe she sold it for $5.00!!! That is unbelievable!! Your Vase is Beautiful with the Gold shining through!! A little more rubbing is all I would be doing to that piece!! Have a Happy Wednesday!! Say Hi to Irf for me!!! 🥰
Best day! ❤️🤗 I know! That afghan was an insane deal! So unique and beautiful! 💕 The vase is going to make someone so happy! I did take a bit more of the white off and I really dig it! Thank you! I hope you’re having a great week too! XO Irf says “hellur” back!! 🤗
I agree. The white/gold vase is lovely. it doesn't go with my decor or i might grab it. I love the lines. I am closer to our flea market now but they are doing some serious rebuild of the highways surrounding the fairgrounds, so I have got the feeling that the market is not very well attended anymore by buyers and sellers alike.
I love the lines of that vase too! Oh?! You'll have to let me know if you get over to to it, how it is and if the prices are "flea market prices." I was surprised how pricey things were. Although a friend of mine said that the area has gotten so built up (new construction) and affluent and that's probably what's being reflected in the items and prices.
That vase looks so cool and a bit more washing with a Q-tip a bit here or there and it's perfect👏❣ My heart always skips when I hear of a loving mother....💙What is it like? Sorry, that hit me. Thank you Amy, and much love to you and your mother. You are so special to me sweet Amy. Thank you for this video and all of your videos😘
I washed it a bit more and I like it too! 🤗 Oh, Coleen! I felt that skip in my heart when you wrote this! ❤️🩹 I can't tell you how much it means to me to spend time with my mom! We didn't always see eye-to-eye as I was growing up. (I was stubborn and a bit too independent.) Now, she is one of my most favorite people to spend time with and I soak up every minute! I am so lucky that she likes what I'm doing now as a reseller... she makes an amazing "sidekick," doesn't she!? 💕 Thanks you always for all your kind words. Much love!! ❤️
Oh, Coleen, your answer so hit me in the 'feels'. I had an unsupportive mother as well. I was blessed with a supportive maternal grandmother though who raised me throughout my teenage and after years. That was such a blessing. However, I do know that you never get over the longing for that maternal love. Sending a virtual hug as a mutual neglected child. (((HUGS))) 😥
It’s beautiful let good enough alone. Lol I’m like screaming at you thru TV as you could hear me. Lol 😂 looks like chalk paint your cleaning it distressed it. People love that I personally love anything gold but I think white would sell better and faster. If you wish to disclose then go ahead and allow your buyer to make that decision MHO as a reseller. Thanks for sharing your goodies Amy! ❤
LOL Thanks Yvette! I agree that white may sell better than gold, but I like the distressed look. I did take a bit more off in the handle and base. It looks coo! I'll have to let you know if it sells in my booth!
That's awesome! I've done it with painted glass, and glazed pottery seems safe too, but I worry about the weeping gold. I may just leave it "distressed." 😊
Love the lap blanket, that colour, right? All the old hardware reminded me of a trip to Paris where I spent an afternoon walking around the oldest arrondissement (neighbourhood) just admiring the old doors, hinges, etc. on the buildings
Oh my gosh, I collect little pill boxes & loved those miniature cloisonné boxes you showed in the little boxes. I would have had to have them! :) As far as the weeping gold white piece- I absolutely love it! I think if you can get a little bit more white off, it will be perfect! I wouldn’t worry about making it perfect because it looks great as is. I’d have grabbed it in a heartbeat, too! 😊❤
I really should have grabbed the boxes. I’ve been to China so I knew how cheap things like that are there. I was surprised to see sale comps at $40-$45. I was thinking about bundling some things and making an offer, but I was annoyed by that seller (if you couldn’t tell.) lol I worked just a little more on the vase. I really like it and its distressed look. 🤗💕
That was fun!! I love all the minis… & the vase is cool. I think its pretty with some gold showing through. I am not huge fan of weeping gold anyway 😂.
He’s very neat, Delores!! 💕 Do you know what my house would look like if I kept everything I loved!? 😆 I have to be very decisive, or we’d have a problem. 🤗
Hi Amy! Never fear, I already planned to send you a glamour shot of my rainbow ensemble soon. As for the vase. I am a purist in nature, and would research the best way to strip it entirely. To each their own, though. 😊
I really like the gold peeking through the white on the vase
I’m glad I’m not alone!! 🤗💕
Diff like the gold coming peeking out from the white on the vase … looks great !
Yes! It looks like that’s a shared opinion! 😊💕
Hi Amy! I love the afghan! The vase with paint on does look cool with the gold coming through! What a fun video! I’m looking forward to Thursdays video! 🌟💓🤗

Nice! Thanks for the tip! I don’t know if I’ll strip this one (I kinda like the distressed look), but I’m sure I’ll run into something! 🤗

I like it distressed, but I can leave instructions in it for the next. 🤗
Yes your blanket is knitted. Love it.
Thanks, Jolie! I thought so! I love it too! 🤗

I like it too! I got a bit more off, and I like the look! 😊
The blanket is knitted and just beautiful! I think the piece that was painted still is beautiful.
Thanks, Maureen, I thought so! I really love that piece! The vase has such great lines, I couldn’t go wrong! 💕
I'm glad you found some items. I went there, too. I haven't found cheap treasure for long time. I just buy cheap costume jewelry for myself.

@@YOSOBOHO I went to there earring morning. I don't like crowd and hot. Since my house is 20 minutes away, I may go there once a month.

Hi, Stephanie! I know, the afghan is special! 💕 Thank you! Lots of love back!!

So true, Beth! Any day with my Mom and Irf is a good day! Plus, we went to a church rummage sale and Tracy’s so you know the day got better! 🤗💕

It looks pretty cool "distressed." Haha! I loved that "pot-ree"/jewel-ree statement! ❤️
I say the “butt crack of Dawn” too!😂 I absolutely love the mustard and cream Afghan 😍
Haha! She said that when she came downstairs just after 5:30am… “so this is what the butt crack of dawn looks like?!” Made me laugh!! 💕
@@YOSOBOHO 😂
The shape of the Crawford vase is gorgeous. I'm still thinking of that afghan! ❤
I know, Deb! They were both great finds, but yeah, I’m a bit obsessed with the afghan! I’m seriously thinking about redecorating a room around it! 💕
@@YOSOBOHO I've redone entire rooms around a single item before. The afghan is worthy of that. I'm happy for you finding such cool things!

I'm not a fan of weeping bright so the way that vase is now is more appealing to me.
