@@YeetoLavito I recently bought a 2010 Mustang GT500 and have not had any problems with it, found a low mileage one at 39k miles so maybe thats why. Usually the engine and transmission are bullet proof, its the electronics, air conditioning, etc that might give you issues down the road.

nice video, I have this same Shelby GT500 and I love it. It's everything I've ever wanted in a muscle car. haven't had any problems with it and I got it almost new about 5 months ago and the first owner took great care of it.

The funny thing that people always talk about is how the base GT has only 315 HP but if you read the test results it usually fares quite well against other cars with more HP. As long as they are AMERICAN cars is really all that matters. Support your country and quit buying foreign trash.

12.70? I ran a 12.70 in a lightly modded 2005 mustang GT at 108 mph. How did motor trend manage to eat up 10mph more with wheelspin? 11.70 seems more realistic for that trap speed.

I wish they would quit trying to drown out the sound of the S/C. Thats one of the main things that us ford guys love to hear when we get on it is the sound of that S/C screaming, knowing that we are in controll of somthing so powerful, yet so graceful at the same time.

  • @4632v

To set the record straight, for 2010 in Canada and similarly in the US, the MRSP for a 2010 Shelby, no NAV, with HID was 59K. There were FORD dealers in Toronto Ontario clearing them mid summer of 2010 for 46K, I know I bought one. To invest 5 - 10 in mods depending on the objectives to obtain a track worthy 650 RWHP beat that can stick with machines that cost 100K is a smart buy, solid axle or IRS, case closed. The 2010 Shelby is a hot looking performance bargain.

Ford sales lead in Canada for first time in 50 years.
Ford sold 27,408 vehicles in June, which was a 25-per-cent jump on sales in June, 2008, and the first year-over-year sales increase it has posted in 2009.

The last 2010 production line will end in December. Also, the Shelby Rep. said that the 2011 model will probably have the glass roof option and new colors (no Grabber Blue). He also had heard about the aluminum block, but no confirmation.

It is the other way around RWD is better than all wheel drive. As long as the wheels are not slipping the AWD will be in two wheel drive, so when the wheel do slip torque is then sent to the other wheels which is why awd systems are not used in drag racing. You usually have plenty of grip when using RWD because all the weight shifts to the back of the car which in turns adds grp.

  • @karlmalone11

that's because of bad conditions, it should do around 4.2 with better conditions. And the trap speed is 8 mph moret than the SS camaro, which is extremely significant.

  • @attananightshadow
    @attananightshadow 15 років тому

50 years ago the mustang was 5 years from production and about 3 years from initial concept...
The 2009 Model year brought out the "45th Aniversary" badging... though you're right on it being an icon... it's not close to 50 yet and the original falcon chassis it was based on isn't even 50 yet.
just pointing that out... mustang production was officially 1965 - now... that's only 44 years, 45 if you want to count the 1964.5's that were labeled as 1965's...

rumor has it that in 1967 carrol shelby himself had race car driver peter saddler drive #2 67 shelby gt-500 for a shakedown run on groom lake and used both nitrous bottles blew a head gasket off one bank of the 390ci twin 4BB.
trap speed was well over 212mph. this was in a older 1967 issue of car craft magazine.
you couldnt get a new mustang past 160.

@wilcoxStudios18 We must then assume you are comparing the 2012 boss to the 2012 or 2011 GT500 and not the 2010 GT 500 in this video, correct? The boss is unfortunately not an easy car to buy, limited production and pricing that is higher due to dealer markup. You are correct that the boss is faster around a road course and that was against the 2011 GT500 which is quicker than the 2010 GT500. You are incorrect saying the 2010 is a disappointment, it is a performance bargain with huge potential.

The 1/4 average is 12.5, the actual BHP is 430. The only thing you got correct was the 0-60 in 4.5.

@sanatatic - I've heard of it. I've had nothing but good luck with them. Even after more engine power and stress plus abuse the transmission is strong. That goes for both BMW and Porsche who use them. Almost 90% of Corvette Z06 owners and other LS motors that add power to their car use a Porsche gearbox that is flipped upside-down than a housing adapter. This is cause the stock transmission is shit weak, and the Porsche can handle LOTS of power no issue.

Don't get me wrong, love the new 5.0's but the 5.4 still has an edge and remember its set up from the factory for its blower, with better tires and few inexpensive suspension tweaks its well worth the greater potential power and prestige.
