I’ve just ordered one after my 10 year old Ebac gave up the ghost. This is smaller than the Ebac, but I’m hoping it can handle condensation in the upstairs area of my 3 bedroomed home. I’m going to have a bedroom ceiling repaired and re-plastered which was caused by a leak from a broken roof tile. I’ll be putting the Meaco in there to help the plaster dry.

Some are saying that depending on your region a Dehumidifier is better and more energy efficient then running an A/C. Since hot air holds more water then cold air does. Also a lot of A/C units once they get ice cold they just make you feel colder then you want, unless you get one with a temperature control.

I have Meaco fans which I use in the summer and absolutely love so I have had good experiences with Meaco goods. Would this dehumidifier be enough for a small two bedroom flat?
It depends on the size and floor plan, but should work well.
Can't see these available on Amazon in the USA, hope they have a dealer somewhere in America.

Hi Dave. I bought one of these about 2 months ago. It seems to work well but my only concern is that the "dehumidification light" (No.21 in the manual) is never on, even though the manual seems to imply this should be on during normal mode. It is the same as in your video between 1.35 and 2.06 - only the furthest right light is always on, but never the dehumidification light (the one to the left of it). Do you think this is an issue?

If you don’t want to move it around you would probably need two. Depends on the layout of your home.
WAVE Ventilation also makes one for your entire house, keeping mold, dampness and Radon limited for the lowest point in your house.

Yes it does, but ventilation also remove your heat from your house. Might be good in the summer, but for the rest of the year you would like to keep your heat inside. With a dehumidifier you will reduce the moisture, and keep the heat.

just something to mention... i notice in the comments you say not to have this on when sleeping in the same room, but in the product video for this dehumidifier at the meaco website, in the video they have the dehumidifier running next to a sleeping babies cot!

Hi, The main condensation I have is overnight when sleeping, in the morning the windows are fully condensed. How do I irradiate this if you are not supposed to leave it on when sleeping?. Cheers
Only way is with ventilation or a drip dehumidifier.

@@geekanoids you say ventilation but if damp weather outside surely by opening windows slightly by ventilating you would be letting damp air into home from outside and therefore increasing vapour in air inside.?

I’ve just purchased the Meaco ABC for the bedroom. Two questions if you don’t mind: can you just switch it on overnight instead of 24 hours? Also what are the two fan speeds for?

You would need a separate timer to do this. The fans speeds increase the reduction in moisture. You mentioned bedroom use, it is dangerous to sleep in the same room as a dehumidifier, it can dehydrate you and have serious health effects. Please seek some advice about this before use.

))))) for sure if you use on the continuous working mod, but I actually bought this dehumidifier, and can say that if you choose desired humidity it will turn on and off automatically.

Good review but.... no mention of that high pitch noise that's cutting through my head. Too bad I didn't believe other reviewers and thought they got a faulty unit.
And that's the main reason it's going back. And the noise measures 56-57db from 2m away. Yes, it is going back.

Dont buy Meaco.Bought abc 10l and it developed a fault after only a year.Not reliable.Poor customer service from Meaco too.AVOID !!!!
