Do you have to repin the ground or just cut and solder to the brown connector? Does it still have to go into the connector? Thank you

Using a soldering gun and solder. You can just twist the wires onto the OEM ground but it a little ghetto and I wouldn't suggest it. However you definitely can go the ghetto route if you dont have a soldering gun and it should be fine.
