Food processor works wonders on shredding the fels naphtha. Then throw in the powder and mix it up. Makes a batch in under 5 minutes

    Liquid version please :)
Always been told by my mum for years, never use powder as it can clog up your machine, use gels or liquids
So would love to see the liquid making

you could break the soap into a few chunks and throw it into the blender if you didn't want to grate it. I'd like the liquid version too please

"How to make laundry detergent" First take some laundry soap and... do nothing, it's already been made.

Some people prefer to make their own stuff. You know what is inside, plus its a hell of a lot cheaper. Less than $2 for 1 batch of soap lasts us about 1 month doing 4-7 loads of laundry a week. How much do you spend at the store for Tide or another store brand?

$5 for 96 load or $6 or 120 loads ... Or $1.5 - $1.70 a month... Dollar stores are wonderful things, no time, no mess, less cost.

This is far from being equivalent to a name brand commercial product. It’s for penny pinching chemophobes with lots and lots of time on their hands. It deposits so much soap scum that it ends up not being used for long. It’s based on lots of internet hype and wishful thinking by clueless housewives engaged in a worthless endeavor....technology from the 1600’s lives on!

    Huge waste of time.
Just toss the whole bar in. And some of each powder. Fish out the bar before rinsing. Done.
It’s not a detergent because the only surfactant is bar soap. It’s just bar soap and water softeners.

Putting your fingers in the washing soda is not really a good idea as it's extremely corrosive!

Not really. Washing soda, sodium carbonate, is only an irritant. Maybe you think of sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) which can be used to unclog drains. That stuff puts holes in your clothes, reacts with the fat in your skin and makes soap out of it. Real nasty.
