I really, really appreciate how, for once, one of these self-defense videos acknowledged the fact that you don't KNOW you're in a dangerous situation until after at least a few seconds. People don't walk around as if their about to be mugged every minute, and if they did, you'd think they were a psycho. This is the first time I've seen someone acknowledge that you have to figure out if you're about to be in a fight BEFORE you can take action.

there's taser batons you can buy that are basically this same concept. I had one that could deliver near to a million milliamps or whatever the unit of energy is, could bash people with those jagged patterns on the end, and it had a strobe/super bright flashlight on it for blinding people. Only thing is it's not handheld so I would only carry it during fall/winter where I could put it in my jacket

The flashlight item can even be mounted on the under barrel of the gun and provide the blind debuff as well as the intimidation debuff paired by just having the gun. On top of that, in the event you have to use the gun you gain an increased accuracy stat in dark alleys as well as at LEAST a bleed debuff if not an outright KO

To be fair, some good flashlights are powerful enough to blind you in daylight at a pretty decent range (for reference, I use the Armytek Wizard C2, range of 100m, can do strobe, which is powerful enough to blind me at 7ish meters)

I worked security for 13 years. All kinds. A slim, strong torch with minor modifications was literally the best tool i have on the job. I can use it to blind, control, communicate, and if shit hits the fan, blunt force multiplier

You knows what’s better than a flashlight….a flashlight on your gun not only does it blind them just he say’s especially if you get a nice one that’s super bright and also has the strobe effect some have lasers as well but you get all those advantages to see what they’re doing while they can’t see shit and if they just do happen to have a gun or weapon they’re planning on attacking you with you already have some hot lead at your disposal obviously this only works if your on your own property or a cop you can’t just point guns at everyone that’s a brandishing a weapon charge but it’s the best if your able to if not it’s always nice to have a big heavy metal super bright flashlight in one hand and some mace/pepper spray in the other

I have been using it for years as a bouncer at a bar. If they can't see, they usually calm down, because if they don't... They ain't dodging anything they can't see. I use the strobe effect because it dilates and contracts your pupils and it gives enough time to act accordingly while they try to regain sight again.
This. I walk around with my Armytek C2 Wizard Pro headlight always preset on the maximum power setting and strobe light. Luckily in my country you don't get to carry guns as easily as in the US so the blinding strat it's always effective

💯💯💯This is absolutely true. I worked as a bouncer for over ten years and LOVED that thing. The club environment is perfect for it, as the bright light will easily blind them. Get a real tactical light, not just one you get from Walmart. You can also hit someone with the front end. People laugh when I mention flash lights for self defense until I shine it in their eyes.

I had a guy banging on my door one night, so I got my light and went around the back. I confronted him and he wanted to fight, I gave him a 3000 lumen blast and he actually fell of my front steps. I knew he couldn’t see anything and I asked him if he still wanted to go. I also said the cops were coming and told him to leave. He took off pretty fast. I never leave the house at night without a light.

I live in Germany and am not allowed to own or carry weapons here. My Klarus XT21X Pro 4400 lumens is the best option for self-defense. One button maximum brightness with strobes! What can I say it works! Especially ideal for women in the evening. No one gets seriously hurt and it's good to run away!

I carry a small tactical flashlight and pepper gel within easy reach when I jog. The flashlight blinds instantly while I can spray the pepper gel which blinds for a prolonged period to allow for counter or escape opportunities.

@@KARATEbyJesse Where I live, we have no streetlights. When it gets dark around here, it's as dark as dark can be. Add on top of that, we have Black bear, Bobcats, and other assorted critters....it's always good to see what you're dealing with.
Flashlights, Knives, etc. are TOOLS and are to be used as such. It's very disconcerting to take the dog out at 0600/6am or 18:00/6pm and step into almost complete darkness. Between our Dog and Cats, we wake up between 0500 and 0530 every morning, whether we want to or not.
if possible, move to another place and live. less stress, less worry equal happier and healthier 😉

My old neighbour was a sergeant in the SAS and he told me the best self defense weapon for your bedroom is a big old flashlight with a bright beam for blinding and a hefty weight for you know what. This is completely accurate.

@@rot7296 well, they need to prove that the killing was absolutely unnecessary. If you’re at home and the intruder breaks in and you drop him, you can still get by. But if its out in public and the guy you have in the process of attacking you has no visible weapon on them, you can still get by if you can prove that the battery would’ve dealt massive bodily harm to you or your family members; but blinding them would be the better option.
