I still watch House Party 1,2,3, and Class Act.. I still bump Rolling With Kid N Play, Last Night, Fun House, Kid vs. Play, I love Kid N Play, and how they brought so much to the Hip Hop world from music, movies, cartoons, and comics! Legendary.
He didn't tell the story of how he was the first one on Fox mocking Kaepernick and black people when Kaep first called for police to stop murdering black people. Kid is a sellout!
Yo! Kid is so underappreciated. Back in the day when i was a teenager- before hip-hop really blew up but was gaining steam(late 80s), Kid-n-Play were undeniably critical for their sound, dancing, style. And It's so nice to hear him drop knowledge, and talk about so many topics and his own history.

Maaaan, this dude has such a great story. Kid is a legend. He's super-humble & probably would never describe HIMSELF as such, but my God! Phenomenal interview, as per usual, Talib. 💯
Im a full time wedding photographer and during the dancing photos at a wedding, 2 young kids did the Kid N Play dance to absolute perfection. It is, imo, the holy grail of dance photos. They knew the movies, the dance and the music. It was awesome.
Talib's deep love for HipHop, MCs, history, the culture, music, and film come through so clear and strong in these fantastic and important interviews. Fantastic job by Kweli, Jasmin, and the crew, in picking guests and the interviews themselves. Respect and Love. Thank you all... this one is yet another outstanding look into much beloved music and more. Dope.
Kid is a character and I never heard Talib Kweli & Jasmin Leigh laugh so hard. House Party is a classic movie and I enjoyed the first three installments of it. This was a great interview with very interesting stories.
Unfortunately brothers like Kid n Play, Chubb Rock, Kwame and acts with more wholesome images got pushed aside by the industry in place of the gun toting, drug pushing, psychopaths aka “real nigga” image The negative effects of the industry shift in hip hop are still lingering today Salute to Legends like Biz Markie, Heavy D, The Fat Boys and this Brother who unapologetically made rap music the entire family can enjoy! Thank You!!!
Absolutely right...those images and stereotypes helped to set up black Americans reputations. For too many years, people have only seen that side of us because they never actually deal with any blacks in real life. The worst part is a lot of us have bought into that portrayal of negativity and emulated it.
Not just lingering! The state of the black community today is a direct result of that shift amongst other things as well but none more damaging than that shift coz we did that to ourselves
As long as I'm around, imma keep that good ol Hip-Hop alive. Always spinning the old skool rap & soul music. I still listen to the street stuff, but at 41, I've definitely shifted to seeking out the new conscious rappers
These two brothers (both Kid and Play), they're irreplaceable in both the pantheon and history of Hip Hop. They provided us with a classic Black comedy that made quite a few faces forever recognizable, they were a force for Hip Hop dancing, they had a swag before America was using the word like we do today and they knew what fun was about. They struck a balance in culture and I would even say created a space. The funniest thing is, word on the streets was Play was a pretty tough guy, but he didn't leave that as his legacy, which is admirable. They chose to be entertainers and were great at it. I'm glad to see Kid still has his spirit after a not so smooth life. Still funny I'm betting he can still dance and he is still here. Thanks for celebrating him while he's here or as Drink Champs says "giving them their flowers", but individually. 👑👑✊🏿
Man, love this interview!!! The gifts that these brothers and sisters have given to the world!!! Shout out to Kid, Play, and everyone mentioned connected to them!!!
Kid need to write a book about his life from growing up, his parents, the life changing moments, and growing up in the hip hop mecca. Great interview on The People's Party
This was one of the best interviews I ever watched.I was able to connect with everything Kid was talking about growing up as kid in that era in new york.Shout out to Talib-Kweli asking the right questions and sparking good conversation.Salute to both of you brothers.
I wore my hightop boxfade with pure pride until I had heard EVERY SINGLE Kid N Play joke and wisecrack ever said. I laid it to rest in 1993 when EVERYBODY was telling me that I was running late. Kid us older but he hasn't aged. I have. Love you Kidd.👍🏽
When I first looked at the time stamp of 2hrs I thought I will pencil this in for another day, but damn that was so good I just kept on watching till the end. Best thing I have seen in a long time and took me back to the day of being a massive Kid n Play fan and watching the movies over and over.
Man ... I didn't think I was going to watch this whole episode in one setting. I hope y'all have Kid back. I could listen to you all chop it up for 2 more hours!
I saw the snippet of Kid talking about the early days... I literally just watched this entire interview it’s now 7:47 am You’re amazing been a fan since forever! All love ❤️
One of my dreams is to successfully do the Kid N' Play dance at a house party. I will learn it in its entirety one day. Legendary!!! Love Kid N' Play!!!
I enjoyed this interview. It was nice to get to know a little more about Kid. He’s funny and has a pleasant personality. I grew up in the era of House Party and the memories are nostalgic.
Unlike a lot of rap artist (current and past), Kid is a real person who clearly feels free to be himself. He feels no need to put on a tough guy role or manufacture coolness. He feels no need to pretend as if everything about him is flawless and he is secure- very refreshing! I wish this level of realness on a lot of others who are clearly insecure, displays false security, but claims to be real. Kid, thanks for your contributions to the culture. Keep on being real, relaxed, and humble. Your level of realness is what cool is.
Great interview. When he started talking about Chuck D, I hollered 😂. I am a fan of that era of rap, all the groups of that time. Then he mentioned Flava and that piano, I smiled because I knew that Flava plays numerous instruments. This interview provided me with a much needed smile. Kid N Play are the best❤
What a phenomenal conversation!! Kid is a real OG, great to see him Killin it in life. And can we please bottle Jasmines laugh and sell it!!? She's hilarious, Kweli like usual journalistic efficiency is fantastic!!
YO thank you for this episode Talib Kid N Play's impact on Hip Hop is severely understated. Queens represent, this was one of the funniest episodes of People's Party I ever seen and this is a great Show. Continue to pay homage to our legends bruh ✌🏾
I adore KID, he always had a happy awesome vibe. You wanted to be his friend. Even the music Roll with kid and play THAT SONG is so full of fun and great memories. This man is a legend. ❤🙏🏽 love you Kid God bless you
This interview was so supermega and awesomeness dope as great shows! Kid is a classic funny, real comedy actor, dancer, and hip hop culture. I love this one to the brother. Man

RESPECT DUE, 24/7. Respect and One Love. (Peace Out)
This is such an insightful interview. I was born in 1994, so I unfortunately didn’t get to experience Kid ‘N’ Play in it’s magical era, so it was refreshing to learn more about him and how everything unfolded. I also really appreciated Kid’s vulnerability! 🦋✨
Good to hear Pete Rock mentioned for The Next Question. He also produced Bills At The Door on Face The Nation. Large Pro remixed Slippin off the same album. Plus, they had joints with The Beatnuts on the House Party 3 soundtrack. Kid N Play showed mad love to a bunch of Queens’ dopest producers. 💯
One of the best interviews I’ve ever seen Peace and much respect ✊🏿 to you and Kid I grew up on groups like Kid and Play they’re so influential and underrated
Very nice interview, more like a conversation amongst friends. Salute the legend Kid.... Thanks for all the childhood memories. And being the only rap my mother would let me buy......

Man ... I didn't think I was going to watch this whole episode in one setting. I hope y'all have Kid back. I could listen to you all chop it up for 2 more hours!

Spent months trying to perfect the dance moves
Lot of close calls
Jumping over my own leg 😂
Love this interview, Kid & Play are Hiphop royalty in my eyes.
A true pioneer and innovator in the game. Love and respect to Kid and Play
Haven’t laughed this hard in a long time. Thank you!
Right!. Original yellow boy got me 🤣
I was always a huge fan of Kid N Play! They bought the fun to Hip-Hop!
I saw the snippet of Kid talking about the early days... I literally just watched this entire interview it’s now 7:47 am
You’re amazing been a fan since forever! All love ❤️
One of my dreams is to successfully do the Kid N' Play dance at a house party. I will learn it in its entirety one day. Legendary!!! Love Kid N' Play!!!
I have always appreciated Kid's honesty and straightforward news. 💞💞💞💞
I enjoyed this interview. It was nice to get to know a little more about Kid. He’s funny and has a pleasant personality. I grew up in the era of House Party and the memories are nostalgic.
I was just thinking how it’s weird that such a good person can come from his crappy grandparents lol 😆
Kid & Play all day...... thanks for the memories Kid
I love me some Kidd and Play! Literally have known him since I was 6 years old watching house party in 1991. He’s family at this point lol
I really want to meet Kid , his energy is so amazing
“Ain’t gone hurt nobody” 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I miss this time era and part of HIP HOP .. I met Kid at a supermarket and he was so cool .. KID AND PLAY FOREVER
YO thank you for this episode Talib Kid N Play's impact on Hip Hop is severely understated. Queens represent, this was one of the funniest episodes of People's Party I ever seen and this is a great Show. Continue to pay homage to our legends bruh ✌🏾

Gosh I loved this he is nice…brought me back to the good old days!!!! That are still i me and us older folks😍💯
This is such an insightful interview. I was born in 1994, so I unfortunately didn’t get to experience Kid ‘N’ Play in it’s magical era, so it was refreshing to learn more about him and how everything unfolded. I also really appreciated Kid’s vulnerability! 🦋✨
Yo, Kids sound effect when Flavor Flav was playing the piano had me on the floor crying laughing 😆😂😂
Some great stories here once again, surprise surprise another awesome interview. "If you're really hip hop, you never stop doing it." Amen to that.
House Party 1 is one of my favorite movies EVER!
I had a summer job at Miles College when Play was teaching or working there. My eyes got huge when I met him. I was about 13.
Respect to Chill. His role in 10 Things I Hate About You doesn't get brought up enough. He was hilarious in that movie.
What a great interview! Learned so much from this AND the Play episode.
Great interview! Glad to hear from another legend and hear legendary stories!
His Chuck D impression is hilarious 😄
"You didn't play, you just got played out". Legendary rap battle kill
Wow, thanks for this amazing interview!

It definitely holds up.. my cousin and I were doing Kid and Play’s dance on a party boat, in Jamaica (ironically). Good times.
