This is a Hi-Point 9mm. Very cheap handgun that we nickel plated and then fine-select gold plated.

I just want to chrome and nickle plate my hand guns what is the best kit for that? I dont want to spend thousands and I dont mind brushing or using the pen. Basically meaning i rather not get the one with the tanks that fully submerge objects. Also say for like a glock slide, is there a solution to remove the black coating? What would happen if i used the gold and nickle on top of the black coating? If i have a gun tjats already chrome do i need to put nickle down before gold like you guys recommended in. It is hard to get an exact answer because there is a lot of different factors that go into plating an item like how much surface area being plated, how thick the gold need to be deposited, if polishing needs to be done, etc... We do take gold plating orders but a quote will need to be sent in from our website.

However shiny you polish your metal your gold in the end when plated on the metal will end up however shiny the polished metal was. If the metal is dull when you plate, the gold will be dull when plated on the metal. If the metal is shiny when plated, the gold will be shiny when plated.

This is a very helpful video. What would the proper process be to pen-plate an etched iron meteorite which is already prong-set into a silver ring? I have a customer with such a ring that I made, but the plating I did turned out more brownish than we hoped. And after attempted touch ups, it's terrible. Do I need to copper plate the meteorite first or something? I've seen other gold plated meteorites online but nothing about that process specifically. Please and thank you!

How do I remove the paint from the slide to do you sand it off
There are many ways you can remove the coatings from gun parts. There is lots of information about it if you do a google search. We prefer to use Sand Blasting, as it removes all types of coatings.
Get some BLUE WONDER BLUE REMOVER, that should do the trick
