    I completely agree. I got so tired of living hand to mouth. Rent and bills took all of my money, if I was lucky I'd have $300 at the end of the month. Converted my compact sedan into a camper with all the luxuries of an RV. And I'm so happy that I did because I was laid off 2 months ago. I was able to go on vacation for the first time in years!

      @@shambrinalove2186 Exactly! I'm also living in a hyundai! I shower in the guy and put a shower in my car for emergencies. But my quality of life has increased so much living in my car. I don't volunteer that I live in my car, but I don't lie about it once I get to know people. Luckily I haven't had anyone judge me fore it, they're more so worried about saftey. But some of them say they would do it too if they were single and didn't have any kids.

    Starting slowly, maybe on the weekends, to get a feel for what you need, and if it's the right thing for you. Give yourself time to find safe parking, and outfitting your car with the proper window shades and personal belongings. Visit your local gyms and check out their prices for showers and exercise. Watch videos on YT for some tips and tricks. Talk to other vehicle dwellers to find out information on places to park in the areas you want to be. There are maps and recommendations online for campgrounds and free parking spaces. Good luck.

    I'm living in the hood for $1535 a month on a renewed lease. I've realized my mistake but it's giving me 12 months to plan my car living lifestyle out. I told my mom and was immediately told I'd get attacked, robbed, and shot. To pay that $1535 each month to myself is worth it, in my opinion.

      @SummerShandy 2 місяці тому

      Did you respond to your mom and let her know that you're also at risk of being attacked, robbed, and/or shot while living in the hood? I guess mom doesn't realize that living in your vehicle could be about the same if that's what her concern is.

    • @yellowbird5411
      @yellowbird5411 16 днів тому

      @@SummerShandy Living in a car, you can park in much better neighborhoods where crime is very low. Living in a house doesn't keep us from being victims of crime.

    • @SummerShandy
      @SummerShandy 14 днів тому

      @@yellowbird5411 that's a good point about parking in better neighborhoods. And I agree that living in a house doesn't keep people from being victims of crime. That statement speaks to the point that I was trying to make....it doesn't matter where she lives, she can still be a victim of crime. Yet her mom was making it like having a roof over her head in the hood was safer than living in her vehicle ANY place. It's like the argument people make that online dating is so dangerous because you don't know who those people are and they could be telling you anything. But we've seen TONS of cases of people having met someone in person, at church, through friends, while at the grocery story, etc, and it turned out to be a dangerous situation because who they showed them wasn't who they really were. So no situation is any safer than the other. Anything could happen in a house or while living in one's vehicle. And anything could happen with a person you met online or in person. Life happens.

      I gotta be really honest One of the reasons I left the country twenty years ago was because I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make it
      Having a stress disorder and not being able to drive
      I lived in california.
      So when I just graduated, I went oversee to teach
      I had all these student loans
      It worked out because i'm a self supported christian missionary.
      Where I live, the government doesn't spend like they do.
      In america.
      If I had to judge, it seems like there's no accountability on the federal or local level. Local levels when it comes to spending.
      The truth is we could have ended homelessness forty years ago
      It's really sad because america was once a great nation
      It influenced three of the countries i've lived in.
      Somewhere along We just stop doing the right thing for the people.
      It's not to say there aren't good people in america there are
      Our government needs an overhaul
      It needs to be run by people who want to see americans not live in poverty
      This goes beyond the american dream if a society can't help its people function.There is a problem
      For years, I kept why we couldn't have good public transportation,
      Contrary to popular belief, not everybody can drive.
      Not everyone can afford to have a car
      You shouldn't be paying fifty dollars round trip for an Uber.
      I'm just saying something's wrong
      People blamed on capitalism, but this is not the issue
      Japan, korea, and taiwan, they all function on capitalism
      They have pretty good economies. Generally speaking, the amount of homelessness is quite low
      And what is this thing with working 3 jobs?I couldn't believe it when I moved back here.
      Eagles to say i'm going back to where I was before.
      It didn't take me eighteen months to find a job there.
      You know i've been praying for america the last twenty years, but since I came back here, i've been praying even more.
      You know it's funny so I can continue to pay my student loans.

      Cars need to be set up for your comfort and convenience. If you were cold it was because you didn't have the proper sleeping bag or comforters to keep you warm. You were uncomfortable because however you were sleeping was not adequate. People who take to living in their cars usually take the passenger seat out and make a bed from front to back on a platform of some kind. There is a lot to living in a car for long periods, because cars weren't designed for sleeping. At least unless your seat folds all the way back. I had a mustang whose back seats folded flat. Wonderful car for camping. Never used it for that, but those are some of the features you might look for.

      @@DriftinN2FreedomI wouldn't call that freedom. It's more like cognitive dissonance... I assume you would rather have a place of your own but your financial situation prevents you from doing that. So to cope and save money you've decided to live in your car, not ideal, but doable. To rationalize and justify your situation you make a video ( to help earn extra money) trying to normalize living in your car. This isnt normal.. it's a decision made due to lack of financial freedom which necessitates being in survival mode which is highly stressful. If you were a nomadic gypsy living in a caravan.. I would believe you b/c it's their way of life. However, you're an American down on your luck, trying make ends meet. I'm not convinced your free. Good luck.

      @DriftinN2Freedom it just pure greed. The housing goes up apt. go up, storages go up. It's all by design to keep people feeling hopeless. Just think everything that GOD gave us for free man has found a way to charge us. GOD gave us fruit and vegetables, meats, fish, the earth, water, and air. They have polluted it all and then want to charge us for it. The thing about it is all of that greed, but they can't take any of it with them. A lot of these people claim to be Christians. How can you get joy watching your own brothers and sisters suffering? The bible says GOD is love. And love is supposed to be a fruit of the Holy Spirit. And people want to say that we all are serving the same GOD. That just can not be true.

Get yourself solar panel, and strap it on top of the car or van and your all set!!! Yes here in canada, we have to pay 16$ plus tax for a stupid burger with fries at A&W!!! Its nuts!!!!! Almost 40$ for 2 caca burger!!!! Its not even gourmet burgers!!!!! Here in canada its alot more expensive then USA, so people stay in USA cuz here in canada i mean CHINAda, its imposible to live here all is tooo expensive!!! Its nuts nuts nuts!!! I lost weight cuz i cant eat all the time ..., i have to fast from time to time to make sure i can have my food lasting a week at least.... my family and friends thinks we are crazy living in a van but we are happy cuuz we have less bills so less stress, and Jesus is helping us out all the time!!! Guess who has took us to restaurent?!? 2 HOMELESS PEOPLE!!!! they paid a huge full rack of ribs and fries, 30$ a plate, and they insited to pay!!!! Wow!!!! It sure isn’t…I refuse to have to go back to paying high rent and having to work two jobs…for years I did that and no matter how much I worked it was never enough 😣 solar power is the way to go..Geez $40 for a burger 🍔 that’s insane…Have you been able to find jobs? It will all work out just continue to have faith 😇 God bless you too
