Your vehicle may be equipped with an All-Wheel Drive Lock switch, located on the center console. Push the lower part of the switch to toggle between AUTO and LOCK modes. The AWD LOCK light will illuminate when in LOCK mode. For normal driving your vehicle should be in AUTO operating mode. Use the LOCK mode for driving on rough roads. The LOCK mode will change to AUTO mode automatically when the vehicle is driven at a high speed. If in LOCK mode and you wish to change back to AUTO, push the switch again and note that the AWD LOCK light is OFF. You can also cancel the LOCK mode by turning the ignition OFF.
You can operate the All-Wheel Drive Lock switch while driving straight. Do not however, attempt to adjust the All-Wheel Drive Lock switch when making turns, backing up, or when front wheels are spinning. If the AWD LOCK switch is operated while the vehicle is accelerating, decelerating or making a turn, or when the ignition is turned OFF, you may feel a jolt. This does not indicate a malfunction.
This is the All-Wheel Drive Warning light. If the AWD System malfunctions, the warning light will either blink or remain ON after you turn the ignition ON. Refer to your Owner's Manual or a Nissan dealer as soon as possible for assistance in this situation. If the warning light blinks rapidly, do not continue to drive as it may damage the power train. Also, never drive on dry, hard surface roads in the LOCK mode, as this could overload the power train, or cause a serious malfunction.
Please see your Owner's Manual for important safety information, system limitations and additional operating information.
