I have only ever bought two Tx16S radios. Both came with bad 4 in 1 modules. The first I got a warranty replacement. The second I installed a new 4 in 1 module myself. So far both are fine. I will post if they fail.
My radiomaster 4 in 1 failed to. I only used it for 2 hours flying my Tinyhawk, when it unbinded itself. Then I started getting the emergency mode. Radio only works if the 4 in 1 is disconnected. I have a MK II radio. Waiting for warranty part to come. Any suggestions getting the connector off, without breaking it. 😳
I received two TX16S-Max radios with bad 4 in 1 module in them. As of yesterday’s video, I have a third in the TX16S-SE to replace because it didn’t flash the Dragon Link WIFI module well. I already replaced its module one time because the SE comes with a CC2500 based multiprotocol module instead of the 4 in 1 that the others have. I upgraded the SE to become a regular TX16S. If you are talking about the connector on the 4 in 1, I do remember it was glued down very well. I don’t remember what I used to loosen that bond. Most likely isopropyl alcohol is all I have around here. But in my mind, I do remember there being a connection on it that was really well fixed in place. Sorry I can’t remember more. Send me a pic or video and I may be more able to help.
So you had 3 bad modulars. Hope the replacements are from a different factory. In your video u broke the connector on the antenna wire and had to order new antenna. Just wondering how u got the other 2 off successfully. My radiomaster mkII doesn't do much without the 4 in 1. Lol
@@glenn8891 Yes, the first two TX16S radios I got had bad 4 in 1 modules in both of them from the start. I replaced a third in the TX16S-SE to bring it up to par with a regular TX16S. Now that module in the SE had problems last week flashing my Dragon Link product. I ordered a replacement to test from Buddy RC for $58. When it comes, I will install and test to see if that makes the SE radio flash as well as my MAX radio does. This could also be a part of the reason for that Radio not working well with Dragon Link. We will see. I went back and watched my video again so I would remember things. I did break off the end of the antenna wire while trying to get that adhesive off the module. I never found out what adhesive it was or an easier way to remove it. Lucky for me, I am replacing a module in the SE that I have already replaced one time so it only has hot glue on it now. Plus I ordered two antennas so if I break another, I have one on hand. Both my radios have that adhesive removed now so I am good in the future. I am so sorry I cannot tell you what it was or how to get it off. As you can see, I broke stuff and had to do further repairs. I should have messaged Radiomaster and asked them what the adhesive was and how to remove it. But I didn’t. One came loose without breaking anything and the other didn’t. I think the 4 in 1 module is manufactured by another company and Radiomaster just buys them for their radios. I bought my two from two different vendors but I expect they came from the same multi-protocol manufacture.
@@nighthawkvs wonder how long I have to wait for warranty part. James said a few days and I would hear something. 2 weeks now and he disappeared. Lol When I bought radio didn't think would get a lemon. All I heard was great stuff about Radiomaster T16S. Didn't realize you have to diagnose and repair it yourself, when u get parts. I am use to dealing with Costco return policy. 👍
@@glenn8891 I have not had any warranty experience with Radiomaster at all. I have preformed all my own repairs. I would not buy a TX16S until the Max came out because of cable problems and generally poor quality. It had some metal parts and seemed to be a little better built. This whole hobby it plagued by self-repair and frequently figuring out stuff yourself. ☹ Better that the early days when a bag of parts arrived with zero instructions. I only paid $99 for my TX16S-SE. I just got it as a buddy box/backup radio. I paid like $750 for the Futaba years ago but it lasted like a tank. Works as well as the day it was unboxed and has very few scratches. I can’t afford the Futaba for the things I fly now, so I am stuck with the TX16S-Max (Mod 2 now) as my best choice.
Hey man, i had to replace my internal module 2 times already. Have you ever got any problem again?
