The best Chess tutorials on youtube. So often GM's (or lesser) are flaunting their skill, albeit unintentionally, and the viewer comes away with just a bunch of stuff in his head that rarely translates to better play. Like watching a pitcher throw 100 mph. It's fun but nothing else. The videos of Nakamura teaching beginners is REAL teaching from someone who genuinely loves the game, understands it at the highest level, and wants to see others succeed. All that comes together for a great learning experience here. Props to him.
Dude this is like... how i exactly felt when learning stuff when being even more beginner than the beginner im now lol, Hikaru so respectful and enjoys so much teaching, like smiles a lot when Daniel discovers the right move so enlightened. What a great video!

You are defiantly my favourite Chess UA-cam teacher! You explains things in a way that makes it super easy to understand but yet doesn't try and rush things so you can get his next point in. You will go over the same point 2 or 3 times if he needs to. Watching your videos, I've learnt it's better to be really good in a few areas of the game then try and learn everything in one go and just get confused. Big fan Hikaru. Keep it up :)
I don’t know who was more nervous. Just being able to get instructions from a GM, would be for me, nerve wrecking. I will have to go over this video over and over. Thanks for doing this Mr Hikaru GM.
Can’t say I’ve heard of Daniel before but this video is great. I am Daniel (in terms of chess ability) so I learn so much more from this than trying to watch Hikaru play at a million miles an hour (as fascinating as it is to watch someone who has mastered something).
Because out of the participants revealed so far, he's got the 2nd highest rating at ~1100 for rapid. (Ludwig has a bit more, ~1150.) And he's obviously pretty smart and attentive. I think whoever practices most out of him and Ludwig will be the big favorite. That being said though, people are a lot closer in rating than they were in Pogchamps 1. Critikal (~1000) might win, XQC (~1000) might win, Rainn might win (don't know his rating, but probably in the 1000-1200 range if he hasn't been playing much chess since his simul with Carlsen a few years back), even one of the beginners could win if they put in a ton of practice. Pokimane is doing really well so far, she has a long way left if she wants to catch up to the top players though. Also, I have a hunch Michelle Khare might take her training really seriously and make a "challenge accepted" episode out of the experience, which would be exciting to see.
