Clive, amazing rendition full of so many nuances which elevate this instrumental to a whole new level - I thank you….. and the many hours that lie ahead trying to copy them!😳
I have watched many, many versions of this song to learn how to play it. And I can, but it would be crude of me to say what I would give to be able to play it like this! Fabulous job!
Superb playing Clive, simply beautiful and the sound from your new Ralph Bown is sublime. It's maybe the best acoustic guitar that I've ever heard. It definitely has the wow factor.
Hi Clive,I saw you play at Apenemia last week. I live in house Kastelos ou of my window I can see Saktouria on the other side of the valley. Great to have you here in the area.. Thank you,its been an inspiration to see and hear you play. Hans Mensink
This is just great playing. . He really brings out the wit and feeling and blues and intelligence of this piece, which is one of absolute favorite things for guitar. Beautiful. Otherwise, I've lived in Illinois my whole life and I've only seen a few hills.
Well done Clive! I must say, it's the best rendition of this wonderful song I've heard yet (no offense to Chet, Pat, TE or others). There's a delicate touch to your playing that really compliments this song. And, the Bown sounds absolutely outstanding. Had a chance to play one of Martin Simpson's Bown guitars and was very impressed. Again, exceptional playing. I sense Chet is smiling.
Probably only to my mind, you and Tommy Emmanuel are striving to play the best variation of Mountains Of Illinois. Any version with a spot of Blues in it wins :) Lovely to hear this old classic evolve.
there are few things i find so captivating that they really motivate me to shut my mind up and pay strong attention. I had multiple moments of intense emotional release whilst listening to this rendition. I think my favorite current version of this to date though I may have to go back and listen to all the recordings by tommy and co again now. Thanks for your dedication to your craft and for the continued source of inspiration.
beautiful song, beautifully played. how many years at an hour per day's practice? i'll let you know. one step at time. I wish i'd kept playing when i was much younger, but I'm not giving up. It's the journey as much as the destination.

What a relaxing piece and natural echo of the room.. icons behind indicate some church 🙂?
Your accentuation is phenomenal, I find your interpretation of that piece even better than Tommy's. Respect and Love!
I lived in Illinois 50 years and the highest mountain I saw was a garbage dump ;)
Great playing as always. Is that a new Bown I see?
Inspiring mountains, hey?
The guitar sounds terrible, good job Clive is such an amazing expressive player, that the end result is incredible 🙂
Wow, literally better than tommy!
Just superb Clive! Thanks for that.
Fantastic 🤗
