  • The Lambrecht Chevrolet Collection of Classic and Collector Cars saved away by a dealership in Nebraska, some with as few as 1 mile on them will be auctioned September 28th 2013. This has been an urban legend for many years about the guy with the dealership who took in trades and held on to them and held onto carry over cars to never sell them. This is an amazing barn find like you have never seen. The Under The Hood Radio Show will be there for the auction as they sell all these rare barn finds to very lucky new owners. Watch for a special interview and more on Under The Hood with Auctioneer Yvette Vanderbrink who is conducting the auction. You may never see another collection of rare survivor cars in one location for auction of this size. Just a few of the rare survivor cars with very low mileage and never sold are a 1978 Corvette Pace Car, A Cameo Chevy Truck, A 64 Impala and more! Not all of the cars are low mile, some are parked outside and range from parts to very restorable. No matter how you see it this is a piece of automotive history not to be missed that may only come once in a lifetime.

    I have been there a number of times. My dad is from Pierce. I asked Mr. Lambrecht a number of times if he would sell me one of his cars. His answer NO WAY. Out on his farm he has 30 or more pickups. All were never driven. Sad to see them rust away. Glad to hear they will finally find a home.

    This is simply unbelievable ! I am more of a Ford person but appreciate to no end the magnitude of "awesomeness" of these vehicles and their condition. I would love to have the 58 Cameo,roof dent or not ! Some carb cleaning,top end pre-oiling,flush the brake lines,check the rubber and You got Yourself one pristine ride! OMG. WOW !

    Some buyers of old barn find cars like these like to buy them as-is and when they get them home they keep them the same way. Someone can always wash them once they get home but once they are washed you can't get the dirt from 40 years back on quickly. Its a collector thing.

    OH MY GOD, in 1957 I was 5 years old and my father WON a 1/4 scale 1957 corvette as a suggestion award when he worked at the GM, Hudson Ohio plant. I was told only two were ever built and were made for GM suggestion award winners. I drove this 57 corvette everyday when I was 5 years old. But my neighbor LARRY TASKER, stole the car out our garage and wrecked it

  • @UnderTheHoodShow
    @UnderTheHoodShow  11 років тому +1

    The owner of the dealership kept cars that were not sold once the new models arrived and did not allow people to buy them. That is why they are spread out over several decades. He also kept most of the trade ins as well. Over 500 cars in all.

    In answer to some questions posted.
    1. Why did these car not get stolen after all of these years? Well lets just say its all the wonderful people in the upper Midwest and a great local law enforcement team who are extremely vigilant when it comes to these cars.
    2. We are just posting videos here. We will post some pics to Under the hood show dot com under the auction page later.
    3.As for the history of the cars it is posted here on the channel and at the Under The Hood Radio Show website.

    It’s all just gonna end up in some rich schmucks collection and never to be seen or driven again

    • @jimdent351
      @jimdent351 3 роки тому +2

      It never was driven in the first place, so what's your point? These vehicles already were in some rich schmucks collection to begin with, so why is it a problem for you now? Many of these vehicles should be considered museum pieces, and they need to be preserved as such. Driving them will only increase the chance that they end up as a new electric vehicle.

    Almost all of these vehicles will have to be completely torn back down to replace all rubber seals in the engine,weatherstripping,wheel cyls,axle seals,fuel system ,paint,ect.But when you get done you will have a nice car that's for sure.Nice to see something is being done with these cars & trucks.

    All to be sold with no reserve. There are over 500 in all. About 60 are really low mile cars and those could bring a wide variety of prices but for those on low budgets there are some ones sure to go much cheaper starting at parts cars on up. If you are there and see me at the auction say hello. I'd love to meet you. These cars are great ! As an interested bidder, have these cars been drained of oil and gas before being stored in the dealership building? I think it is great the the cars are brand new, just unbelievable. I am not a mechanic, so I was wondering what it would take to get these cars in good running condition (besides the cosmetic). Anyone out there have any idea?

THERE WILL BE NO PARKING ALLOWED ON THE COUNTY ROAD THAT PASSES THE AUCTION. THE ONLY PARKING ALLOWED WILL BE IN ASSIGNED AREAS. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO BRING A CAR FOR SALE AND PARK IT ON THE ROAD AS IT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED AND WILL BE ENFORCED BY LOCAL LAW AGENCIES. SITE IS BEING SET UP NOW AND HAS SECURITY ON SITE.

    • @burnerdown2
      @burnerdown2 8 років тому +3

      +Coolgarrett02 Productions Are you saying that when they stored the vehicles they drained the oil and put conditioner IN the engine along with squirting oil down the combustion chambers to prevent them from rusting? Water and moisture is always present in engines and varies with temperature changes....if it wasnt "proprerly stored, expecially after all those years" the fuel with be sludge and the engine will be rusted...to start the motors in that condition would damage the engines....just saying that by the looks of the way the cars are stored i personally would examine every part after a sitting that long...expecially inside the engine where all the rubber seals and gaskets will be dried out and no good....It takes alot of work and prep to storeage a car, even a short length of time, i find if difficult to believe that by the looks of the way they were found, no prep for storeage was taken, soooo i would really really look that car over hard, expecially inside the motor and fuel tank, lines brakeslines and radiator, because if the rad wasnt drained it could be crap....So starting the cars and moving them without a thorough clean is only going to really damage the cars.....Its a shame they werent stored better...:(

    • @olikat8
      @olikat8 8 років тому

      +burnerdown2 No way any of those cars were stored properly. It's neat to see, but I'd never have paid near any of the prices they got on those vehicles. They were out in the back 40 selling crap with trees growing around & through them. A lot of expensive junk

  • @olikat8
    @olikat8 8 років тому +5

    I saw part of the auction, it was comical. Prices were astronomical, even on the stuff that was left out in the "Back 40." I do laugh at the repeating on the mileage on the Cameo ("1 mile"- funny no mention of the roof damage), the Impala (4 miles), the Corvette ("4 miles")... vehicles that old-plastic on the seats, never titled, stuff in the trunks, whatever- and not ever exercised aren't any good. All the fluid are gym floor varnish, seals dried out, et cetera. Maybe they made neat paperweights, but I don't think any of these cars were "We threw batteries in 'em, dumped some gas in the tank and started right up." It's cool to see this kind of stuff, but the hype was way too much

    • @shananagans5
      @shananagans5 8 років тому +1

      +olikat8 No doubt lots of issues simply from sitting but it's still very, very rare to find something like this. It's far less work than a full restoration & they are original cars. That demands a premium price. Seriously, there is only a handful of cars from the 50's, 60's & 70's that have under 100 miles on them in the world.

    • @olikat8
      @olikat8 8 років тому

      I hear you. I'll admit I'll probably never wrap my head around this side of the hobby. From my perspective (which is subjective, plenty will agree and disagree with me), these are no 'cream puffs,' and I might think seeing them would be cool, I'd never own something like this

    • @shananagans5
      @shananagans5 8 років тому +1

      olikat8 On a practical side, I agree with you. I do think it's kind of cool to see something that is "fresh" from the factory but I personally wouldn't pay a significant premium to have one. I want something I can drive & I realize how rare a car like this is & how much some people value that so I would never drive one of these.
      My grandfather bought a new Cadillac in 1959. It had an electrical problem when it had just under 2,000 miles on it. He lived several hours drive from a dealership & he ended up just parking it. I tried buying it from my grandmother in the mid 80s & she wouldn't sell it. It sat until the late 90s & was sold in an estate sale. I wasn't in a position to buy it at that time but I would prefer a car like that.
      It was every bit as nice as one of these but has no "new" car premium & there is no guilt in driving it & there always seems to be another one like my grandfathers pop up somewhere. A widow held onto something, or a wealthy person that had 9 cars seldom drove it. If I wanted a clean original, I would look for a low mileage, clean original & they are still out there. The factory fresh aspect is not something I personally want or would pay for.
