We are here in the Black Hills forest as I type this. What a stunning view in all directions. We have sold everything to pay off van and cargo trailer. We are living our dream. Beautiful video!
As much as I've enjoyed your videos Brian, it has taken me some time to really appreciate how well you do the music which is part of what you offer. You have a real talent here. I can imagine a series of videos following segments of your journey. Of course, I do that by watching a series of videos, but I can imagine them being spliced together for a large documentary. You do very fine work.
That is amazing news Brian... if you're not pulling our collective leg... Like others I'm awaiting news about your upcoming Florida trip and what it might say about future prospects for you. I wish you well however this journey unfolds for you.
Wow, what beautiful country! Loved the drone footage, the cooking near the end of video, the thunderstorm, all the trees...very relaxing. Especially when you realize how close to the distractions and noises of Sturgis. Glad you were able to get away and find a quiet, relaxing campsite.
I would love to give this video two big thumbs up if I could!! Beautiful. Simply beautiful. Great drone footage with great soundtrack to go along with it. Keep living the dream!
Awesome place Brian ! I went around the Black Hillks back in May.....had a blast. Thanks for sharing. Shared this on Google. Thumbs up. .... .... ENJOY....THE SIMPLE LIFE
Just going thru some videos Brian and I have to say, this is by far one of your best. You see here also how many people gave you compliments on your drone footage. The drone footage as well as the time lapse scenes, are very important, not just to me. I already have a new Ph. 3 Advanced, like yours I noticed, from one of your videos, but I haven't yet tried to do a time lapse, but both of those will be a big part of every video that I do when I get on the road in my van when I get one,. hopefully soon. They just add so much to van life videos, and I can hardly wait to get started in living in a van and enjoying seeing the country again. Hope you're doing very well. Much peace to you. ✌
That is a beautiful camping spot. We like to get away from the crowds too for peace and quiet. Having the drone show the area is a big plus to finding the cool spots!!
What an awesome spot! You been finding some real jems lately and the drone footage is the cherry on top:) Once you're out of the black hills the bikes should thin out more, busy area this time of year.
Another Great Video. Your Drone shots are amazing. I love the idea of exploring the area with the Drone. I've visited the Black Hills area before but never camped. Now I feel like I have.
I am back watching videos Brian and I was there last year during that week and I remember you could hardly find a parking spot at Rushmore, the entire parking garage was filled with motorcycles. I gotta pay more attention to your videos to see if I see my car in them. LOL! Enjoying your videos.
Double rainbow, beautiful spot you found, so thankful you take me along on your journey! Also love to watch you cooking as it always looks good! Be safe and God bless you greatly!
Wow. This isn't the same channel I new a while ago. Much improved. Nice. Your camera work and editing skills have really improved. I love the cut edits, time lapse, and drone footage. More practice with camera control on the drone but it's always nice to see mother nature from her belly button. I also like that you add your diet to the videos. Scrumptious food. Not pizza and beer. You could probably do a cookbook. Glad to see you collaborating and showing up on Enigmatic and other channels. Congrats on living the van dream.
Lol. Ya man its kinda nuts around Sturgis time out there. Can really take away from the natural experience if your not diligent in finding the away nook and crannies. Looks like you found a nice one though. If your out there most any other time then around Sturgis its Fantastic. Lots of natural wonder and the normal population of the area is low so very secluded opportunities abound especially as you head into Wyoming. I'm sure as you did today youll still be able to find some natural seclusion youll just have to beat the bushes a bit more then you would if the rally wasn't going on. Theres a pretty cool little free or used to be free camp area called sand creek access area off of I 90 on the South Dakota Wyoming boarder if your heading that way I think its where highway 129 intersects with the interstate.
You found a peaceful camp spot 4 sure...I'm also one for staying clear of tourist area just to many people...you like Bart the dog I see... you should get a dog there good company about his size and not any bigger.
Great video Bryan, your videos are a great combination of scenery, information, and I love the meal segments. All very helpful for me just getting on the road. What was the last ingredient you put on the meal? Something with lime/garlic, a hot sauce maybe?
Thanks! One more quick question. I see on your recent van tour you mention your am/fm stereo that has an sd card slot. What brand/model? I'm looking for an alternative to paying for satellite radio...my van has a plain jane am/fm radio only, no cd, aux, etc. Thanks again! Leigh
Great video. We were in Nemo the past two years with our ATVs. I had to laugh about the upper road looking rough. If you got a dirt bike or a small ATV you could really venture out.
Mr. Thomas We have been in the Black Hills three times. The last two years we brought all of our ATVs up there to go on the trails. This past year we paid to ride the permitted trails. If I was living like this guy I would have some sort of ready off road transportation to go see a lot of land in one day. That area is amazing and friendly to those who want to have an adventure. It ranges from easy to rough. We were on trails that we had a wheel once and a while on the edge of or hanging off a cliff. That wasn't rough. We even met people driving pickups and SUVs on some of the trails that I would not bring my vehicle. It was a blast. With young ones with we were always mindful of the cats though.
It would be nice if all forest roads were drivable. Many of them succumb to ATV and offroaders who make deep tracks and erosion inevitable. No offense to offroad fun. It's just that small RVs and vans...and fire trucks, can't travel them.
+FindingHome I didn't see too much of that happening because the forest service was careful to prevent it from eroding by spreading gravel in the problem areas. So RVs, firetrucks and full size off road vehicles and cars don't cause deep ruts. I will have to look into that. I have driven around my clay soil yard now for eight years with ATVs and have not noticed any ruts from their use. I have five ATVs and use them all. As soon as a pickup, truck or tractor drives over it I have an instant rut.
Going back and looking through your always awesome videos. This is the city I've been in this past month. Nemo is gorgeous. Next stop, Detroit. Then Toronto! If only I could find a way to quickly trade my Altima in for a van, I'd be set! I actually found this, but haven't heard from the owner yet. It looks pretty fantastic! rapidcity.craigslist.org/cto/6079427401.html
There are reports of an emerging small black bear presence in the Northern Black Hills: southdakotahunting.com/article/black-bears-returning-to-the-black-hills Mountain lion populations had increased (www.newspressnow.com/news/local_news/study-mountain-lions-making-comeback/article_b72cd3d9-edcd-50ea-b343-db8faebb6150.html) until the state instituted a controversial mountain lion hunting season in the Black Hills in 2005.
AVM I too love the lifestyle and have been at it for quite some time. I see a promotional vibe in your videos...that is how you encourage others to seek the same path you have chosen. I also see how you prefer not to be around crowds. Don't you think these two mindsets as conflicting? I know I prefer to go to places where others are not and sure as heck don't want others out here with me. If I happen to meet someone who has found there way on their own, great, but bringing a bunch of newbies into these places kind of defeats the solitude so sought after. Just because one can make videos doesn't mean one should IMHO. Be safe.....
What a beautiful country we have.
the ariel footage with he peaceful music...ahhhh
Black Hills are beautiful! My sister has lived in Rapid for over 21yrs. and we never get tired of going to visit her. Great video.
We live,in a beautiful world. Thanks for sharing.
Great video, Brian. Excellent music choice, very Brian Emo. That pic of Washington's head on Rushmore was very unusual and great! Good job.
We are here in the Black Hills forest as I type this. What a stunning view in all directions. We have sold everything to pay off van and cargo trailer. We are living our dream. Beautiful video!

Terrific vid. Your drone gave an awesome different perspective of the area above and beyond your camp site. Just beautiful.

Wow, what beautiful country! Loved the drone footage, the cooking near the end of video, the thunderstorm, all the trees...very relaxing. Especially when you realize how close to the distractions and noises of Sturgis. Glad you were able to get away and find a quiet, relaxing campsite.

Another Great Video. Your Drone shots are amazing. I love the idea of exploring the area with the Drone.
I've visited the Black Hills area before but never camped. Now I feel like I have.
Those storms up there will shred a tent.
I bet you're glad you have a roof over your head and not on a bike, August is bad time to be any where near s.dakota. cool drone shots.😀 👍👍✌

beautiful :)
Mt. Rush More is a lot smaller than I expected.
How about cookbook for traveling guys??? Seriously! I would buy it.
Brian, have you seen the tents that connect to your van? That would greatly expand your living area temporarily.
Great video Bryan, your videos are a great combination of scenery, information, and I love the meal segments. All very helpful for me just getting on the road. What was the last ingredient you put on the meal? Something with lime/garlic, a hot sauce maybe?
Thanks. Thats Cholula Hot Sauce I added... :)

Hi what kind of Camera and Drone do you use ? Great Video !
Beautiful photography of a gorgeous place. Do they have any bears or cougars left back there or have they been all killed off?
There are reports of an emerging small black bear presence in the Northern Black Hills: southdakotahunting.com/article/black-bears-returning-to-the-black-hills Mountain lion populations had increased (www.newspressnow.com/news/local_news/study-mountain-lions-making-comeback/article_b72cd3d9-edcd-50ea-b343-db8faebb6150.html) until the state instituted a controversial mountain lion hunting season in the Black Hills in 2005.
Nice secluded spot Brian.Love the drone footage/music!! What are your travel plans for the fall?

You might just be trying to read to much into these videos. I'm just sharing my experience on the road man. Peace :)
Did u make a video about your drone?
You could use your drone to help you find spots 🌞
I was thinking the same thing, can check out to see what the road looks like. :)
Tina
+tinabeane that's what I would use a drone for 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
wookie
Yeah. But it's easier just to drive up the only road possible and see what's around the corner.
I see you now have an EZ Up shelter. Do the side doors interfere with it? Also, where do you store it when not in use?
Thats not my EZ-Up, it belongs to my friend. Seems like they are more trouble than they are worth.
When playing music do you have to pay royalty for using the music??
+Karl Miller I use royalty free music 😄👍✌
You can't tell us the price WHY?????????? Who paid for your stay is none of our business and has NO bearing on the price to stay at the site.
