Not forced, but a calculated decision by all companies that decided to invest and work with China. I am sure there were tons of others says no thanks to this deal.
The IP transfer is a win win arrangements for the company and Chinese partners. By shifting the supply chain to China, the company can reduce the cost.

China already reached its ceiling in terms of siginificant economical growth. We are on the brink of two technological shifts that are going to drastically reduce carbon emissions: Fusion power to replace coal fired electrical generation. The IP transfer is a win win arrangements for the company and Chinese partners. By shifting the supply chain to China, the company can reduce the cost.

But American voters in general are too dense to understand it's not about trade imbalance. If trade imbalance was a serious issue on our economy, we would have done something in the past 20 years. @Sumio Ostuka You are right Trump prefers that U.S. Companies build their items in the USA he has said that 100 times. That is not why he is angry with China. It is NOT just Trump who is angry with China it is the entire world. Trump is just the most vocal.
The entire world is frustrated with China over the intellectual theft, forced tech transfers, corporate spying, currency manipulation, government sponsorship of their key industries to under cut foreign competition etc.
The WTO should remove China and if they don't then the USA should leave the WTO. China is violating everything they agreed to when they joined the WTO

Amerika is on the decline, the future belongs to Asia, in particular to China, china has invested in huge research and development projects, it is educating people and workers for free, whereas the young people in the US have to pay for there education dearly to keep the elite small. There is no vocational training system to update the skills of the exiting workforce, thats the reason for having the problems in the rust belt because people have not been taken on a higher skill level to cope with new challenges. China seems to do a lot of things right, whereas is USA is ruled by the money of the cooperations only!
How does criticizing the government work out for those in China? Or for minorities- especially the Muslim minority? Oh, that's right....your ability to move freely and be an active member of society is taken away for criticizing, or a minority, or being related to a dissident or other "undesirable" group. Or are you in favor of the re-education camps and mass surveillance and control systems?? Sounds like the US industrialists daydream- calling in militias and pinkertons on the labor movement and not having to even act like the publics reaction is important, because if the public doesn't toe the company line theyre screwed.

If not working on equal rights for people across these two countries, how can American working class compete with the enslaved labor who are made to work 96 hours a week in China? Before this problem is solved, increasing tariff is the only solution. Tariff can only be lifted after democracy and rule of law is established there.
