Such a gentle considerate and empathic bird person. Your companions are clearly content and dote on you. Better and probably tastier food for your birds than I have in my larder (only last week I discovered the awesomeness of quinoa mixed with porridge).
I have been a wildlife enthusiast since age 6 when Life On Earth appeared on the BBC. A multi instrumentalist since age 13. A short term budgie owner at that time. Little to no contact with parrots ever since. Began researching them a few months ago on UA-cam and have been constantly surprised by these little souls. I have a small collection of vid clips showing birds clearly getting into music...and some even attempting to play music. I've seen a cockatiel play the drum. A budgie trigger virtual keys on a touchscreen. A Cockatoo play a small toy piano with the beak. The well known sulphur Crested cockatoo stamping feet in time blew my mind. Joseph the cockatoo (cockatoo luck) going into blissful rapture listening to some skilled finger picked acoustic guitar work. That particular vid got me really interested in bird's empathy for music. And a pet that I could play music to...or just sit and listen to The Beatles lol. That would be really something :)
Music healing for parrots? I'm only half joking. I don't think there are any public aviaries or bird rescue centres near where I live in Cambridge UK. Now that I've seen some of how wonderful these creatures are I very much look forward to some one on one contact.

I really recommend putting some rope perches or just perches in general near the food and water dishes so the don't get sore feet from the small rim of the dish. It also makes it easier for them to access and grip. Anyway great video I found it very informative and interesting seeing all your birds!!
Victoria is enjoying her day outside. Her tissue samples came back from her surgery last week. We are almost certain she is going to have to be spayed to save her life. I will make an update video on the status of her health in a couple of days.

Thank you for sharing this! I have two conures, a rescued Nanday conure and a Sun conure. Thinking of getting a Caique. I don't find my two birds to be much work right now. My nanday Gizmo came as what I would consider a rescue, she had been kept in a small cage for 12 years, hardly ever let out and a 100% seed diet. I was told she was a biter and an all day screamer. I worked with her the same way I would work with a wild horse, slowly spending undemanding time to build trust, then we moved on to R+ training. She has come a long way in her diet, still bites sometimes but hardly like she used to, and never screams at all. Of course I let them out 4 - 6 hours a day and I play with them. It took a long time to find the tricks that would work with her to get her to eat healthier food. Again thanks for sharing!

Victoria had another good day today. Her doctor wants to give her 2 wks to relax and gain weight. Then she will be going back to the vet for another x-ray and blood work. We will then decide on surgery. I love my sweet girl. Thank you for asking. ❤️🐦
Yosi Osiris It's a small chance at this point. Her body could reabsorb the shell. We will not know for sure until we x-ray her again in 2 weeks. Unfortunately the tissue samples we took over uterus did not come back good. At this point it looks like her uterus needs to be removed to save her life. Surgery is the last thing I ever wanted to do and I hope we can avoid it but it does not look like we can at this point. I am going to be by her side and help her get through this really tough time in her life. I love her so much! It's killing me knowing what she has ahead of her but she also has a bright future if we can just get past this mountain.

Me about the huge flight cages Shakie and Calsie has. What is the bar spacing? Can 2 sun conures or 2 BH Caiques work together in these large cages? When you adopt a bird, do they give you a cage for the parrot too?
What happened to your hand. I noticed the scratches and bandaid when your hand was in the fridge.
Do you have a link to the wreath in Maui's cage?
Consider doing a video on what to do in the even of an emergency like fire. How do you quickly evacuate? I heard you should have a pillow car under each cage. Also a video on nail grooming.

Bilquis Wadoodi The flight cages are not large enough for 2 birds any bigger than a lovebird or parakeet. I will have to measure the dimensions for you in the morning.
I am a hairstylist and burnt my arm twice with a hot iron because my client was talking on her cell phone:)
It's important to have a carrier ready for each bird at all times in case of an emergency.
Great idea on doing a video on how to teach your parrot to allow you to file their nails. Once I get Victoria well I will start filming new videos.

Your cage set ups are impressive. I love all the perches & toys. Not trying to over step & ofcourse depends on the birds but I'd be careful using wraps bc I've had a friends bird chew it up & got impacted in his crop & had to go to the vet for surgery & scary. Sorry not trying to scare you & definitely depends on the bird but if they chew it up I wouldn't use it. I put it on some of their jungle gyms they play on only when people are watching to make sure they don't get hurt. But non of my birds have arthritis so I don't have to worry as much. My friend has one with problems & does the same thing & uses horse wraps but her bird doesn't pick at them at all so it's safe. Not trying to be mean just to he aware. :-) love your stuff & set ups!

Parrot Playhouse do you personally buy products from dr foster and smith? How is the shipping. Your right having a bird can get pricey! I'm still finding stores and deals to buy things for my bird. So far I found zupreem bird food on amazon at a lesser price. In San Diego I visited our feather friends but toys over there can get pricey.
My birdy also has arthritis so thanks for the extra advice

Aaron & Kim Jones I work full-time to support my birds. I have committed my life to my birds. I don't go on vacations, don't go out with friends maybe but maybe twice a year. Hardly have time to see my family and they live 15 minutes away. Parrots as you know are a lifetime responsibility. I became depressed having no more space, time and money to rescue more.
