A little maintenance goes a long way Jim. I remember doing a lot of repairs on the old Everests that you and Ken had. Glad to see you are back in the area. Take care and maybe we will get to see you this winter up at the old stomping grounds.
Always a good idea to do the maintenance. For the screen that you replaced on the side panel, I would fill the torn screen with black silicone to close the rips and I use the repaired one when I know I'll be going into the bush and possibly rip again. I keep the good one for when I go on trails...
Good stuff, it would be helpful if you showed the steps on how you remove the exhaust and the panels on the sled. Just not a lot of detail in that would be helpful, that’s why people watch these videos.
I need to replace my 550 fan with the skandik 900 ace wide track or the 600 EFI. I have not used either model . Favouring the 900. Do you get much ice build up in side the tunnel? Will it start at minus 35 c ? Do I need a generator to run a oil pan block heater in it?
I have no complaints whatsoever about the 900 WT, before I bought a new machine I asked a number of what I call hardcore trappers what was the best out there right now and I tried out a few machines before I settled on the Skandic. Have had no troubles whatsoever starting in cold weather without a block heater. No problems with ice buildup either. Pricey to buy up front but way cheaper to run you can use regular gas and no 2 stroke oil needed. I personally found the SWT to hard to handle for my age, that is why I settled on the WT also took the 900 for the extra power.
the kit was $85.99 but I also changed the transmission oil which was 2 containers at 31.99 each plus tax. Oil change kit comes complete with oil and filter.
Brp trained tech here. Love watching these kinds of vids. A long T30 gets that oil filter cap off way easier. And adjust that belt!!!

Good idea, sometimes I am off in the rhubarb and should do that.
Good stuff Jim.
Just need some cold weather now to get stuff frozen.
I learned lots from your video, thank you.
Welcome back Mr. Gibbs

@@gibbsadventures12 thanks Jim
Are you concerned at all about not being able to start your skandic with a pull cord if the battery dies?
In three seasons of travel, starting in all conditions have never had a problem.
I lost the book that tells me how much torque I put on the bolt underneath engine, anyone that knows tell me how much lbs to set the torque wrench...
How much is an oil change roughly for you sled I have the 2017 WT 900 ace ?

The sound of the videos is not good
