Yes Ted, I’m fairly certain you would have the bigger battery. I know I’ve heard expedition owners say up here in the North that their snowmobile starts at much colder temps than the 900 aces. Excellent!
Hey Chuck, noticed you connected the ground first. Always connect the power first, much safer if you accidentally touch ground, no problems because there is no ground( battery not connected). Then connect the ground, to complete the circuit. Just a helpful hint from an old boy.
Thanks for the video. I have the same machine and will be doing the swap this weekend. Any idea of the screw length needed if I want to use the old bracket?
I have driven machines that are much more tippy. It’s something I don’t even notice to be honest. Mine is the 24” track though so I’m sure that makes a bit of a difference for sure. The expedition is less tippy but has the a-arms exposed. I wouldn’t let the stability be a huge factor in determining your purchase
@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors Are you aware of the ski stance extending device and if so do you know how good they are. Claim to widen ski stance by 4 inches.
Robert Simard yes I’ve heard mixed reviews...some say it makes a difference while others say they hardly noticed any difference at all. Of course the 12” ski skins are a must as they make an incredible difference in keeping the ski ‘afloat’ thereby keeping the rest of the machine stable
Surprised they never mentioned that when you bought the machine I’m pretty sure the 30 ah is a gel battery too not acid. Royal distributing had some too that were called earth-x , supposed to be real good and I think they were lithium.
I don't know nothin bout snow machines but I can tell you all bout upgrades for your surfbroads....dont need a snow machine here in California just surf broads
Mine is a 2016 WT and let me tell you nothing just slides out and not sure there is room in there. Turns out to be as usual a bugger of a job with multiple tabs to defeat and figure out. on these overcomplicated and fussy machines. Taking the big battery back..
Not really. I just went with it as it’s was readily available. Couldn’t hurt and if it gets me out of a jam at some point then it’ll be well worth it 👍
Just started watching your videos and I like them a lot. Thanks for posting.
Again, you’re most welcome. I hope you enjoy the content overall. 👍
Nice upgrade to the snowmobile
Thanks. I’m anxious to put it to the test👍
Can't go wrong with more cca's...not in Canada!!
Nice machine..likely be my next upgrade.
This looks like a no brainer. Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome grant. Thanks for tuning in 👍
I believe I have that bigger battery in my expedition but I still will be bringing along a power pack just in case...TFS!

That is a great tip. I am due replace my battery on my 2009 expedition WT. Need to check if I can do this.

Great tip my friend. Thanks for relaying that. Good stuff👍
It's a beautiful machine!!!
It sure is Doug. I love it. So practical and so applicable to my lifestyle.

No I don’t bud. But I’ll check next time I have a minute. 👍
Also use a synthetic oil will help
what is the rear storage system you are using?
It’s a home made cargo box that a guy made out in Quebec , Canada. Great box. Love it. 👍
I bought this battery at Canadian Tire.
when i add the Part # into brp dealer it shows up as a wire.... any other part # for the battery?
No sorry I don’t. But if you call the dealer and inquire it’s actually the same battery that fits the 1200 ace model.
Thinking ofbuying a 2020 skandic but worried that machine is tippy. How is your driving at speed on the lake?

@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors Thanks. I appreciate the feedback.
Always disconnect the negative terminal first and connect it last.

Good to know sir. Appreciate your input as always. Looking forward to testing it out👍
Also use larger battery cables for better starting
Yes all things like that are beneficial and count when it’s needed 👍
Здорово 👍 надо тоже поменять акаммулятор .
yes give it a try and let me know how it makes out!
Kimpex starter is better too but if ur brp one hasn’t shit the bed yet no point in replacing it I spose

Haha!! But wouldn’t you like to at least upgrade the battery in the surfboard?😂. Thanks Dave. Always enjoy the chuckle
Is there a trick to taking out the battery out once the bolts are all removed? Might need some persuasion?

Привет из РОССИИ😁
And a special welcome to you!! Thanks for watching and I really appreciate you joining me from your part of the world!
Should always disconnect negative side first when working on a battery.
What is the maximum current draw when cold that this starter will draw? If it's less than 310 then using a 400 CCA is a waste of time and money.
For an easier start, in hard minus, there is a life hack)) Is it necessary?)
Not really. I just went with it as it’s was readily available. Couldn’t hurt and if it gets me out of a jam at some point then it’ll be well worth it 👍

We live in Canada, in the northeastern part, in a Province called Newfoundland & Labrador. Specifically, we live in the Northern portion (Labrador).
