    I believe I have that bigger battery in my expedition but I still will be bringing along a power pack just in case...TFS!

    • @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
      @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors  5 років тому

      Yes Ted, I’m fairly certain you would have the bigger battery. I know I’ve heard expedition owners say up here in the North that their snowmobile starts at much colder temps than the 900 aces. Excellent!

    That is a great tip. I am due replace my battery on my 2009 expedition WT. Need to check if I can do this.

    Hey Chuck, noticed you connected the ground first. Always connect the power first, much safer if you accidentally touch ground, no problems because there is no ground( battery not connected). Then connect the ground, to complete the circuit. Just a helpful hint from an old boy.

    Thanks for the video. I have the same machine and will be doing the swap this weekend. Any idea of the screw length needed if I want to use the old bracket?

    when i add the Part # into brp dealer it shows up as a wire.... any other part # for the battery?

    • @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
      @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors  Рік тому

      No sorry I don’t. But if you call the dealer and inquire it’s actually the same battery that fits the 1200 ace model.

    Thinking ofbuying a 2020 skandic but worried that machine is tippy. How is your driving at speed on the lake?

    • @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
      @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors  4 роки тому +1

      I have driven machines that are much more tippy. It’s something I don’t even notice to be honest. Mine is the 24” track though so I’m sure that makes a bit of a difference for sure. The expedition is less tippy but has the a-arms exposed. I wouldn’t let the stability be a huge factor in determining your purchase

      @@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors Are you aware of the ski stance extending device and if so do you know how good they are. Claim to widen ski stance by 4 inches.

    • @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
      @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors  4 роки тому +2

      Robert Simard yes I’ve heard mixed reviews...some say it makes a difference while others say they hardly noticed any difference at all. Of course the 12” ski skins are a must as they make an incredible difference in keeping the ski ‘afloat’ thereby keeping the rest of the machine stable

    Always disconnect the negative terminal first and connect it last.

    Surprised they never mentioned that when you bought the machine I’m pretty sure the 30 ah is a gel battery too not acid. Royal distributing had some too that were called earth-x , supposed to be real good and I think they were lithium.

    Is there a trick to taking out the battery out once the bolts are all removed? Might need some persuasion?

      Mine is a 2016 WT and let me tell you nothing just slides out and not sure there is room in there. Turns out to be as usual a bugger of a job with multiple tabs to defeat and figure out. on these overcomplicated and fussy machines. Taking the big battery back..

    Should always disconnect negative side first when working on a battery.

    What is the maximum current draw when cold that this starter will draw? If it's less than 310 then using a 400 CCA is a waste of time and money.
