Breaks my heart that ODB didn’t live to see all the other weird guys in rap music that came along after him
fr imagine a danny brown song featuring ODB, that would be fucking insane
Imagine a ODB song with a Yuno Miles feature 💀
@@Alex-xn2pjHe actually would, that's the great thing
@@martinrodriguez1599Bro imagine him featuring on Scaring The Hoes, god damn we were robbed. RIP the GOAT
@@K1LLtheSWITCHthat would be fucking insane
When Melon started talking about U-God, he sounded like all of my grade school teachers who would start off their conferences with my dad with, "Now, Richard has a lot of potential..."
Honestly thought Melon was going to put every member in S tier just to do a 9 minute lead up to
"In the end, Wu-Tang Clan ain't nuttin to fuck with"
That idea for a video would have convinced to donate money to the channel 🤔🤷🏾♂️😅
That was the only acceptable answer to this. This man legit put Meth as a B...
People really sleep on Inspectah deck. For sure top a 3 Wu tang member for me.
His solo stuff isn't as good as Ghost/Rae/GZA but for their group stuff he consistently delivered some of their best verses ever.
yeah definitely my favourite member when it comes to their group efforts. dude is very versatile too. i think he has the funniest quotables in the group next to ODB, and yet in another song he'll remind you he can be the best rapper in the group with unbridled lyricism.
If only RZA didn't lose the originals for his first solo album
Pretty much every Gen X hip hop fans can recite the opening verse of Triumph in their sleep, and for that he deserves his flowers.
His parts on Protect Ya Neck and Triumph are two of the best openings of all time.
Worth mentioning that INS had his solo project destroyed in the flood which ruined RZA's basement studio. His solo career never took off because of the album being lost, and then he was sidelined after that.
His "Uncontrolled Substance" album is still very solid
@@Alex-xn2pj yeah it is, shame we missed out on the original vision
considering it ended being a great record is a miracle. i truly believe he had the potential to drop a debut of the quality of Ironman/Liquid/Cuban
@@daryl7531 yeah the beats for his subsequent projects weren't nearly as good because he ended up getting last dibs, due to his lack of exposure. Kinda makes it hard to imagine just how good the og project was.
It would have been dope to hear that spiderman album.
Top 5 list
1.Dirty Ghost Man
2. Inspecta Rector
3. Killa Bastard.
4. Donna the Chef.
5. Old Face
Where’s Meth O.D. Man?
I'd place Old Face a bit higher than that. I almost like his stuff as much as my hero, Pumpin' Verses.
I forgot Masta Rae God.
6. RDS
rector? damn near killed her!
decks first album that was lost in the flood could've genuinely been a top 3 solo album in the wu catalog with the way he was ripping mics back then
His albums after that were underrated tbh
So sad we won’t get that album could’ve been the greatest
Uncontrolled Substance was still a solid album too
Meth got done dirty
Should be in A tier. But I get why he got B
i love meth
tical is def a fire album and then he got a bit goofy with redman.
i love meth
One the few 90s guys who technically speaking, are even better now
Meth is unquestionably a, maybe even S. Albums be damned....have you ever heard a Meth feature that he didn't absolutely merc?
this 💯
Anything lower than S is an insult, and I don’t say that lightly. Meth the goat.
Tical 2000 is slept on💤💤💤
A yes ....S? Nope
Putting Meth below Raek is crazy. No disrespect to the Chef but Meth is like, probably number 2 most necessary after Rza and in a lot of ways even more because he brought a more mass appeal without watering anything down
RZA's run as producer between 93 and 97 is one of the greatest in hip hop history.
Hard to argue against that....but it got brutal after 2000....like he lost his fastball.
The music he made on the Wu Tang show is good

@@coffdrop77nah I can see it. Maybe not one of the worst rappers of all time but he definitely is on the worse side of rappers. He crams sentences with too many syllables and can’t keep a decent flow on most songs. Its a shame because he’s actually one of my favorites on 36 chambers. That whole agressive style just went away tho and he turned too focussed on the lyrical part and not so much the delivery and flow. Compare rza’s verse to the other verses on Triumph and you’ll see what I mean.
Method Man - best clan member for me simply because of his voice. one of the best voices in hip hop
Meth and Red was such a good duo, how about How High and the Wire!
Same. Method's got the best sound in the Clan and one of the best in the game.

Would have liked to see Cappadonna included on this list, he wasnt part of the original lineup but was made an official member later and I gotta say, especially after seeing him do his thing live during the Wu and Nas tour last year, I definitely feel he's kinda slept on. Still, this was a cool tier list I wasnt expecting, and honestly I agree with pretty much ever ranking except Meth, feel like he could go in A for his extensive feature game, but thats cool. Thanks Melon
Agreed, Cappa has some of my favorite bars of any wutang member. Winter Warz alone is legendary
Cappa's first album The Pillage is also really good.
Wu Tang Clan fans did not come to see Cappadonna unfortunately. They usually come to see Method Man.

Inspectah Deck is hail by every member of the Clan as the best Lyricist.
He doesn’t have the solo catalog but his contribution to rap as a whole… be it styles, flows and themes that a lot of the Greats use today…. HE CREATED THOSE.
On every Wu Tang and solo album he’s featured on, he has the best verse.
There is a reason he usually goes first.
There is a reason why after he drops his verse, everyone rewrites their.
The Rebel INS is underrated and under-appreciated.
The GZA is by far the best lyricist with the slickest word play and that alone makes him S-tier. He legitimately has multiple bars from various tracks that, it could be argued, are the greatest lines in rap history.
GZA, imo, is the fifth greatest rapper whose ever lived.
Anything below an S is crazy.
While I agree U-God is a bit below most of the members, he does have some of my favorite Wutang verses. His verse on Cherchez la Ghost is so smooth
Knuckleheadz is great and he popped off on all of Forever. Well maybe not black shampoo :D
He had a solid verse on pinky ring too.
yeah it's a shame he was in jail when 36 chambers was recorded
"Method Man is well above average in the group"
*Places him joint-second to bottom*
Masta Killa's No Said Date record is the most overlooked great Wu-Tang album and I'm surprised you didn't mention it. Also, Ghost's Wizard of Poetry has some great tracks. It's arguably his 4th-best album.
No said date is very good but not neceserally better than other underrated Wu solo projects like first three RZA albums, bulletproof wallets ir even golden arms redemption
I agree with both of these statements. No Said Date is sneaky good. Its slept on because some of the best tracks are toward the end of the album, like Queen, School and Silverbacks. Ghostdeini is great too, its just different and some people weren't open to Ghostface changing his sound. That being said, tracks like Do Over, Baby and Guest House are super strong tracks which will always be in my Ghostface mix due to their quality and his versatility.
Check out the track "Soursop" off of his relatively recent Ghostface Killaz album. That one flew under the radar too, and its one of his best.
Ghosts wizard of poetry was fire plus I feel he the most versatile emcee in the WU one of my faves for sure
Don't say "beloved and respected member of the clan"
deck deserves at least a B spot for that verse on Triumph
guillotine too
ODB god tier Mr fantano. I will gladly debate you on this, to make up for the lost KOTD interview you did that I messed up the sound on.
Main thesis? His weirdness allowed the rest of the crew to be as weird as they wanted to, without ever being the weirdest in the room. Without him, they wouldn't have been able to come out or their shell in the same way.
ODB was a true soldier for the ppl... mad times they be trying to shush him down cause he gon call out erryone... G O V to the industries
ODB was D tier at best
@@GotDamBoi way to tell on yourself for being a cultureless swine
Being fair, I knew no one was going lower than C. All are exceptional rappers. I felt like Method Man should rank at S. Went back and forth with Biggie, always delivers solid lyrics. Flow, delivery. His chemistry with Redman. Should be S tier.
Still waiting on the pink floyd list you talked about in the wrapped vid ❗️❗️
Same 😭😭😭
Method man’s verse on Lemon by Conway alone should get him into S tier
ODB's first album is incredible, a completely unique experience
missed opportunity to do it in the M.E.T.H.O.D Man intro order
2:30 - Yesterday morning in Toronto, my friend was at a cafe & had their order mixed up with this guy wearing a cape & Yeezy foam runners.
Cape went up to correct the error before my friend noticed, but my friend complimented their fit and after talking for a few moments, he decided he’d be fine eating whatever my friend ordered, and vis versa
After exiting and bidding farewell, a group of people suddenly descended upon the man, asking for pictures
After 15 minutes of trying to google who they were, based on the brief interaction they had, realized it was Method Man
And his order was immaculate, highly recommend the Method Man breakfast sandwich order. S+ tier for sure, genuinely great guy
(We’re Zoomers so we only knew Wu Tang the group, not individual members and their work)
This is real btw, crazy coincidence
What does method man get on his breakfast sandwich out of curiosity
@@base4yrfaceyeah we wanna know
You can't recommend the order and then not give deets. That'd be foul.
Got to drop the breakfast order now, can't leave us hanging. Also I'd argue not knowing Method Man is less a generational thing than it is a taste thing. (Source: I'm also gen z)
Great list! However, I do think it’s slightly remiss to highlight Ghostface’s contributions to Cuban Linx without mentioning Rae’s performance on Ironman
Thats right, I admit its a mistake i make too but you have to give Rae his props. Faster blade in ironman is all him and a masterpiece in rhyming
@@robloxazogod I fucking love faster blade
We NEED an entire WU album tier list, with all the affiliated groups and Acts.
Melon I appreciate you having your own opinion but you didn't have to put all the members at F tier while yelling "NWA better" over and over again
Meth at B is insane lol. Tical easily most popular solo in real time. No cap… maaaan
My top 3 Wu-Tang Clan members
1. GFK
2. GZA
3. Inspectah Deck
💯
I love RZA’s rapping in Gravediggaz. Everyone always talks about his production, but he's an underrated rapper
as well. The Czarface records are so good. I love INS. He would definitely go in the S. Otherwise I pretty much agree with the list
I would put INS in A but S is questionable imo. The Czarface album are cool and his name probably is what pulled most people into giving them a listen but let's just be honest with ourselves. Czarface seems more like Eso's thing while INS is just along for the ride. The former is clearly the driving force behind it all.
@@mf_dva Still his verse in Cream alone puts him in the S for me. Such a powerful, powerful verse.
INS is definitely high A tier, he brings fire to every single group cut he opens on ("Triumph," "Protect Ya Neck," and "Guillotine (Swords)" just to name a few). Lyrically I'd put him right on par with GZA and Ghost, even if he doesn't have the discography to back it. Uncontrolled Substance is slept on though, I'd put it at least on the level of Tical and probably higher.
I was waiting for GFK’s placement…Good man. Your rankings are legit imo
Saw them live last October. It was beautiful
Would def rank Deck also in A; he's a beast when it comes to (opening) verses. I mean... "Protect Ya Neck", "Triumph".... I also loved his first LP even though it came out too late...
I agree with everything but Masta Killas ranking his debut album NO SAID DATE got criminaly overlooked but is a classic
Fax
It got overlooked because it came out 10 years too late.
Brilliant list!!
Nice to see Inspectah Deck receiving praise.
Melon, you can’t put everyone at F-tier just because they wouldn’t let you in the clan
There's only one Klan the Melon is a member of
Greatest Asian rap group ever
you crazy for that one, G
Should have included Cappadonna on this list. He's essentially the tenth member of the group. Hes heavily featured of Only Built For Cuban Linx and Ironman. He's on the cover of Ironman with Ghost and Rae.
An odd future tier list would be dope
Meth under OBD is nasty work. RIP ODB
wtf are yall talking about? There is no universe where Meth should be ranked above ODB as a Wu Tang member. If we’re talking acting then sure

@@newyoutubehandle wrong, he’s arguably the best rapper of the clan and he arguably made the best solo album of the clan. He deserves an A or S tier. Meanwhile you’ve got Deck in S tier somehow.
GZA is my favourite of the bunch when it comes to rhyming. He is creative, intelligent and educated himself well. Liquid Swords is a masterpiece. But I agree his longevity is a problem. He's one of those artists who seem to just spit out all the incredible ideas on one record and then just can't beat that. On the other hand, have the Wu Tang ever got close to their mind blowing and one of a kind debut?
the rza made bill murray drink hydrogen peroxide bruh

I haven’t seen the group as a whole live but I have seen Method Man (with Redman) and Ghostface and Raekwon and let me tell you the energy Method Man brings is simply different, I think only Onyx has ever brought more crowd pumping enthusiasm to the stage from any artist I’ve seen live.
Also they all played Shimmy Shimmy Ya and Method Man was tearing up and every crowd was all over the track
You have excellent taste. I agree. I have watched Onyx live on UA-cam an the energy they carry is insane. Top tier like Cypress Hill on live shows. Watch the Wu Tang forever and NY State of mind tours for Wu. The crowds went wild. Like when they did I like it raw in Chile and the crowd went nuts.
Inspects Deck always my favorite, verses on Cream and Triumph alone are Top Tier…. always flow on point
Inspectah Deck should be S Tier since his “The Movement” track provided one of the most used music backdrops for MTV Cribs
ODB is half of where my name comes from!!
I've got incalculable love and respect for every other member, but so as to avoid writing out a whole college essay, that part feels most worth mentioning.

Melon you said you were working on a Pink Floyd tier list earlier this year wtf happened to that
Come on man....Method Man is S tier. Distinctive voice, flow, personality and just a great rapper. He was basically the mascot of the Wu. His solo albums didn't meet expectations but his work with Redman is iconic. Blackout! is iconic. It made meth super famous and even helped elevate the entire Wu. He was everybody's favorite weed-smoking gangsta rapper before Snoop.
Inspectah Deck has an entire legend around his prowess as a lyricist and the flood at his house that ruined his debut album and probably destroyed his career. His verse on Triumph is hailed all around the internet as the "greatest verse in hip-hop", and his feature on "Above the clouds" with Gangstarr is iconic. (His feature on Pete Rock's "Tru-Master" and the music video is classic).
I honestly would put Masta Killa in D tier. The man contributed nothing. Less than Cappadonna. He bit GZA's style but it was worse. U-God didn't do much for the Wu either but he had a bigger personality and his baritone voice is kinda iconic at this point if nothing else.
I love Wu Tang rankings because every time they get to U-God they're like "I mean, he's not BAD but..."
It's like being the child of a celebrity but instead of being an actor or musician, you work as a regional manager for Taco Bell
It's not as glamorous but sometimes we need that stability
U-God was pretty capped by being in jail for most of the 36 Chambers recording sessions, really cool that he used the little time he had out so effectively on that album
