Super useful video! I love both, but the square mini flap is my favourite of the two (perhaps even my favourite designer bag shape out of all the bags I have). It's so cute and fits me perfectly as a petite person haha. The chain on the rectangle is slightly too long, but it works for me as I absolutely adore how cute the square shape looks. :)

Hi, Dayle! Thanks for the great comparison of these two. I've always loved the square a little bit more but if I had to buy one, it looks like the rectangle mini is more suited to my needs. These large phones are the bane of many a mini bag lover! I keep telling myself I'll get the Samsung Z-flip but I can't bring to spend that much on a phone when the funds can go to... another mini bag! Lol. Hi Dale. I have a couple of mini recs but never bought the square as its too short for cross body. I just bought the iridescent blue toggle bag and agree that having that extra length is fab. Haven’t used as yet. So much cuter in the square shape though x

Still prefer the square for its cuteness haha.. The rectangular mini also makes it harder for me to arrange my things.. There's always this awkward space at the side i don't know what to put. Square is deeper and taller, i can stand my cardholder straight and stack them together. For example cardholder, tissue, wet wipes. Great video! 💕
Yes I know some people love their square minis… I think the phone size has a lot do with it.in some ways, it would be better if my phone didn’t fit then I wouldn’t care - like my petite boite chapeau

I just bought a green patent square mini from 2012. I love green, I’m more fond of the rectangle but this was a great price and the colour ❤️ I’m looking for a chevron rectangle with champagne hardware in maybe a navy

Thanks Autumn! Yes there is, it’s been around about the same time period as the square, very hard to get hold of for the obvious reasons. Chanel and versatility don’t always go together 😂😂
Usually when I go out I’m with my hubby so I can carry a mini bag. Because he’s driving I don’t need to carry car keys and he also carries the house keys. I carry my card case, my phone, pain meds and a mask so they easily fit into a mini bag. The less I carry the happier I am and my back thanks me for it. As I don’t have any Chanel bags it’s usually my Alma BB or my Gucci Ophidia supreme mini cross body. If I ever buy a Chanel bag I’m pretty sure it will be a rectangular mini.💖

I use bag liners to help keep the shape, protect the inside of the bag & organise my bits “n” pieces. I personally prefer the rectangle, even though the square is pretty. The square is not functional enough for me, carrying medications a bag hanger etc, mask. I like everything in 1 place not having to carry my iPhone in a separate pant or skirt pocket.
Yes I thought about a liner but I think I’ll lose too much capacity in this tiny bag unfortunately. The square is pretty…. Impractical.. but pretty! 🤣

I just find the chain on a standard mini square so short! I just wish it was the same length as the WOC which is a great length for cross body.
I agree that’s why I bought the Pearl crush as the standard square is just too short!
The rectangle gets my vote for looks & usability, but I do love the Pearl Crush adjustable strap. The square still came up shorter on you than the rectangle, how short is the strap on the normal square?! 😲
The standard square makes you feel like you’re wearing a bag designed for a toddler, it’s horrible on me!

They are two of my favorite mini bags too!
My t-shirt is in a Medium (my other one is a large), just hand wash (machine cycle) them to maintain colours 🤗

You are the Tetris master! The closure reminds me of the issue I had on my Pochette metis, which was resolved with an insert. Couldn’t really do that with the mini as it would eat up too much space 😢

Great comparison video.💛🖤 If I was making a choice for practical reasons then it would be the Rectangular Mini, however, my heart is with the Pearl Crush - I adore the colour, the crush mechanism and the longer strap! What do you think about Chanel changing the Pearl to a toggle on the new square mini crush? 🤔😞 Ideally a small to medium size suits my frame better. 👌🏻❤️
