Fubara Presides Over Rivers Executive Council; Awards The N225 Billion Trans Kalabari Road Project

- Rivers State Executive Council presided over by the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has approved the award of the Trans Kalabari road project valued at N225,114,563,830.02 to Lubrik Construction Company Limited.
Briefing Government House Correspondents after the 5th meeting of the Council on Wednesday, Commissioner for Information and Communications, Senibo Joe Johnson said the cost of the project is informed by the critical and strategic nature of the project to the development of the state coupled with its terrain, which takes off from the Port Harcourt ring road near NNS Pathfinder at Mgbuodoha, stretching about 2.0kilometers to Aker road and traverses the back of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education moving southwards to the first bridge crossing to Oguruama to terminate at Bakana and Tombia end.

This will make Port Harcourt metropolitan area to officially sprawl into Kalabari kingdom and open up opportunities for real estate development.
Rivers state is quietly bulidng a megacity region around the Port Harcourt Metroplex.
My only concern is the cost at over ₦200b as at the time of the award in May 2024. I hope this will be a dual carriageway and not single lane like the Bodo Bonny road under construction. This is to ensure that future government doesn't have to return to expand infrastructure when population begins to boom in that axis

I've never heard of that company. What is their pedigree in constructing projects of such a scale? I would want to believe adequate technical evaluation was done before the award of the contracts. Oga Sim Fubara, you are a finance expert, and I am sure you know what you are doing. Serve your people right because they are the ones who will defend you against the vultures in your state. You know they are many in your state. God help and grant you wisdom to meander your way through and around the political dynamites laid you on path.
