Well the electro magnets are stark tech Also in the old weapon when Peggy was firing at the shield the bullets may have dropped because guns were much less powerful back then. In the future the bullets may have gone fast enough to richochet off the side
The bouncing can be explained by elastic collisions, similar concept to the newton's cradle, and the laws of reflections. Supposedly Vibranium's properties help with those concepts.
Far as summoning, in the comics it’s explained that he’s predicting and calculating the projectile and angle that would allow it to come back. Which is pretty impressive while in combat. Same way with boomerang, you have to know where and how to throw it in order for it to come back to origin
When I first saw Captain America, it was in a snes Avengers video game. When he threw the shield it would come back to him like a boomerang, even if nothing was there. I always thought that was how it operated somehow. I still don't see how you can perfectly time a rounded object that can perfectly bounce off and back to you. But it works I guess. 😆
So u know how u can only scratch diamond with diamond well it’s the same for vibranium like how black panther was able to scratch his shield it’s because his suit is made of vibranium
The way Thanos and Thor attacked caps shield was completely different. Thor hit it dead center with a blunt object so the impact was spread out across the entire shield, while Thanos used a sharp sword and hit the shield on the side of it. So the different weapons affected the shield differently
When Cap fell from the elevator he used his shield as a cushion because it absorbs vibrations. Therefore much of the impact was taken by the shield. Plus if u notice that when Cap jumped he fell for a distance before hitting the glass and then falling again to the ground. The glass would have still hurt, however it created a barrier slowing Caps fall

In marvel vibramium is the strongest metal on 'earth'.Thanos comes from galaxies that could be made by materials stronger than vibranium.Sorry if i am wrong
One unlikely explanation for why the bullets bounced and one movie but were stopped in their tracks only the other movie is because the pistol could have fired the bullets with less power unless momentum whilst the other weapons from the other movie could have fired the bullets with more power as well as what the Bulls could have been made of
Thor is hitting the shield with an angle when Thanos is directly trying to break it. Also Peggy Carter is a S.H.İ.E.L.D agent and highly trained so she can shoot the middle of the shield when any other person can't. (The middle of the shield is relatively smooth and flat when the sides are not.)
Considering Thanos' sword was sharp, it's not surprising that I cut through the shield for two reasons, it only blocked Mjolnir because of vibranium's repulsive properties and the blade was sharp but Mjolnir is blunt force and blind force would probably not have an effect on it that much. EDIT: someone can explain this better than me I'm just giving basis for why it happened
4:10 put it this way, Spider-Man’s webbing has extreme tensile strength but can be cut apart easily another example of this is how steel cable is much harder to pull into two than to cut into two
