Fantastic and wonderful boat
I love the fact that both winches are right there at the helm, but it doesn't feel crowded at all. A real sailors yacht.

Beautiful design I like a lot of natural light this version with three bedrooms is just the right size as the price of the boat I am only fascinated by the fact that 150 people bought the boat without seeing it I think it's about charters that change older boats, I see that there is a lot of activity on ads on the Adriatic, so maybe I see new Hanse in live

Surprised, they didn't dual Rudder, It seems to be in trend and boat appears to be quite beamy when on strong tack past the taper, Another Beautiful yacht
Some very nice design features. Hanse have always pushed the boundaries. Only criticisms are: A lot of sharp pointy angles below. Everything that's worth having is an option! Is it Polyester, Vinylester, Epoxy? How stiff is the boat? Great sailing in those light winds but what's it like when the wind gets up a bit?
How does it sit at anchor where most of its time will be spent (unless its in charter where it will be in a marina most of its life).
Those of us that live aboard, have modern boats know the good stuff. It's the bad stuff like not enough space for a decent amount of chain for the eastern Med. No facility to plug in electric fans or have decent mosquito nets on hatches and companionways. Sail Safe. Ant & Cid.
As a liveaboard, I feel the aft helm position is an issue in foul weather. If you take a big wave. (i know that you could get a bimini, but that's an extra option, and you would have a harness on) but still, I feel it could be better. The price is ridiculous, but I feel, more and more companies are earning their money on the extra upgrades !! Saw a guy on Aquaholic, that got new cockpit pillows, it was 8k £ for a Princess yacht. Upgrade to a generator on your Seawind it was around 15k - the same on a Fountaine-Pajot was 32k. It's just not okay. Will just say i have followed Ruby Roses search for a new explorer Cat. They ended up with the new (hull nr 2) Seawind, and atm they are in Vietnam to follow the build. As of yesterday, Seawind has 84 orders, without making a single commercial. Only invite ppl to test the new boat, and collabing with people on UA-cam....wish you all fair weather

With a lead-time into late 2023 and the potential price increase, it is great for Hanse, but not very attractive for buyers. Surely one can find something similar ... or better.
150 orders & a lot of inflation lately but with 150 all ready ordered & this was 5 months ago. We should see some cost savings as a lot of parts will be mass produced by the subs.

Thank you Toby. I have always enjoyed your videos, even more so during these Corona times. Hanse it that right in the middle quality brand, sort of what the Acura brand is to motor vehicles.
Except Hanse is cutting corners Acura is not. Using lower grades (than 316) for the steering cables, for example. Allowing for enough corrosion to break at seas after 2 or 3 years. They saved pennies, you may be fearing for your life.

Same Designer means very similar boats Even if the shipyards are not, possibly this is good for their business, but a tough question for the sailing world.
Although it has a good deck design, the cockpit area limits the helming options & of course the lack of main sheet traveler is a minus. Saloon is well lit with all those hatches but has such a wasted cluttered design with that French idea of island seat & kitchen.That folding bar is a nice touch and the chart-table looks good, if not flimsy. Forward cabin is so wide though probably at comes at a performance cost with that beam. All in all, please give me an Azuree 46 instead for better design, better performance and great build quality!
For private owners in the market - how does this compare to a Dragonfly 40?
A stunning boat made it by Hanse. But if there any chance of doing a comparison between this one, the upcoming bavaria 46, the recently launch dufour 470 and the Beneteau 46. It would be interesting to find out whats the best option in terms of construction, sailing performance and interior accomodations. Its not easy i know but it could be more than interesting to understand what yard nailed it in this popular segment.

Yes indeed - Olivier Racoupeau designed the latest iteration of Amels and Hanses (and others including Fountaine Pajot)
Hanse being Hanse, I would pay a few thousand more and instead go for better build quality and performance. I would go for a Grand Soleil 44 or an Azuree 46.
I searched for videos on the makes you mention. Doesn't seem to be any useful or recent video on either.

What has the world come to? People are queuing up to buy Hanses? I think the boat has a decent deck design, though the cockpit area limits helming options and, of course, the lack of a main sheet traveler is a minus. Check with Hanse. But I'm pretty sure that boat is rated "Category A - Ocean: covers largely self-sufficient boats designed for extended voyages with winds of over Beaufort Force 8 (over 40 knots), and significant wave heights above 13 feet, but excluding abnormal conditions such as hurricanes." Don't sail myself. And I'm sure you know anyway - the trick seems to be to keep a very good track of weather so you don't get caught in something that you wouldn't want to experience... Sailing Zatara for example has done at least one video about that topic which is available here on Y-tube...

@@Andy_M986 Me neither. I prefer trimarans... But as I understand it they have managed to avoid getting into severe weather. And that is what you have to do if you want to travel the oceans in a ~46 foot sailing vessel...
How so that 150 people order a boat without even seeing it? I wonder if they are some sort of speculators who are selling their place in the queue later at a profit? If they are real buyers, how do these people make money so easily that they can spend it so easily by taking the risk of the unknown?
I guess charter companys are shopping for a new fleet for the post covid season too. This flexible and roomy design is a big plus for them and they don't just order 1.

Beautiful and refreshing design, first Hansen I really like and although I’m a Beneteau Owner , I’d like this new Hansen design more than what Beneteau currently has to offer.
Normally I'm not a big fan of a lot of the modern designs, but this one is just stunning both inside and out. Amazing!

I really dislike those giant slippery plastic hatches right up forward on the bow. So dangerous when go forward in wet conditions.

Things have changed! When I was in the market for a family yacht they were 26 feet; a 36 footer was for the really wealthy! But Hanse have always made nice handling yachts, and this one looks to be no exception

After FLOODING the used sailboat market with 150 of the 460's...the resale value of this model will SINK.
