Found ur channel yesterday as I’m staying on my dads Oceanis 46 and been watching constantly since yesterday afternoon. You are a Gem in the boating community love the videos!
Awesome, welcome aboard! :)
These boats look so small on the outside. But when you get inside they are huge. Thank you Nick.Say hi to Maggie for me. Lol
Will do!
That is a fantastically well thought out boat. Love it.
Achingly beautiful boat, every boat owner knows you never have enough storage but this is awesome, never seen so many lockers. Ps “chain counter” great tour !
Dammit! 😄
@@AQUAHOLIC can’t all be perfect
"ACMF" from now on 👍🏻⚓
Oh lovely...I do enjoy the videos of the sailing yachts most of all. This boat sure is a terrific looking piece of kit.
Glad you enjoyed it
Can you explain some more of the sailing terminology? Forsail, spinnaker etc. For someone who isn't looking to buy a sail boat and just likes seeing the tours it would be interesting to hear you explain!
In simple terms, the foresail is the regular sail you have in front of the mast, while the spinnaker is a very very big sail you can put up when you are going downwind, to go faster
I mean you could not be a lazy pos and spend the 5 minutes it would take to look those items up. I dunnno.
Lovely boat, lovely walk-through. As per usual, Nick. Your videos are very “get-attable” 😉
Many thanks!
I love sailboats, thank you for covering this one.
"Anchor chain measuring fellow" 😂😂😂
It's a technical term... 😳
@@AQUAHOLIC is that the same as a quick chain counter ?
@@AQUAHOLIC An easy-to-recall mnemonic “Rub Your Balls With Oil,” Which is: red, yellow, blue, white, orange. When white marker goes through windlass, with each color being 25 or 50 feet in length, you have 100 or 200 feet of rode out.
@@gmcjetpilot 😳
@@AQUAHOLIC If you don't get it, ask "Jack The Sack"..color coding . your chain shackles w/ paintvis time honored. 🙄
Wow! What's not to like about that boat? It must have a very proud owner.
Epic!! My new favourite sailing boat, really like that one.
“They’re all Yanmar’s” 🤣
Thanks for showing us around Nick.
An awesome boat and a brilliant video. Love your channel!
Many thanks!
Love the out-take!
I’m wondering because you’re getting into more sailing yachts (I hope) if you could possible get you’re hands on a Jeanneau sun loft 47? 6 cabin?? That would be awesome!
Keel stepped mast!!!
An unsinkable boat? She’s a beauty. Wouldn’t know what do do with most of it though.
Keel/deck stepping is not on size. Yacht Rona 77 foot has a deck stepped wooden mast.
Rod rigging is low stretch compared to layer up rigging.
Suggest you do a RYA course on sailing....
Lovely lay-out 😀
Draw opening instructions again, a great 👍review though.
Wow! I love this sailboat. Thanks for the tour! Question - how does one go about learning to sail a boat like this?
Such a nice S/Y!
Have you toured a sessa c42 before because there is one on sale in Chichester marina I know of
...and every one of the bells and whistles needs maintenance...How many is the crew?
The cabin carpets are very nice. May I ask which brand is it, and how it can be ordered ? Thanks and regards
It's a Hanse, you order it from your local Hanse dealer :)
@@AQUAHOLIC thanks for the answer I know that it is a Hanse 😀I have recently order one. I am asking about the vinyl carpets in the cabin. They are very nice. Best
Not being a sailor, why would you choose in mast/boom furling vs slab reefing? Or vice versa.
It’s mostly about performance. Sporty sails have all sorts of clever curves to give them the best airfoil shape but they are almost impossible to roll into the narrow furling slot in a mast or boom and invariably jam if you try. These sails are generally slab reefed onto the top of the boom, usually using a kind of guide net, often called a lazy jack. For in-mast/boom furling a simpler, flatter sail is used though this compromises power and sailing performance.
Th is Nick, Love the prestige 520 port side, is that one coming as well?
There's a Prestige 520 already on the channel :)
@@AQUAHOLIC Thanks, I’ll go find it
Wow, I think this is my favorite sailing boat you have shown us yet. When you said the sail was being laundered I was thinking that must be one heck of washing machine! How are the sails cleaned if they aren't machine washed?
......not the brightest bulb on the christmas tree....
I would hate to spend my life at 45 degrees!
When these make it to California we call these Hawn-zee's. Always doubted that pronunciation.
Hanse needs to sponsor me to take one of these around the world while doing vlogging and social media... cmon hanse it'd be an investment 😉
looks like hard work i will stick to a nice pair Volvo pentas
700k?
Sending my love from New Zealand 🇳🇿, I love your reviews, I’ve watched a lot now, I like how the yacht looks smaller on the out side (unless it’s a super yacht) but the inside has so much room and other places to store stuff like if you have crew cabins, but you only not have 60ft yacht and don’t need to have a crew so all that room is good for storage.
Thank you for more sailing yachts !!
More to come!
An absolutely charming tour Nick - very smooth , a pleasure to watch - huge respect to the owner of this beautiful yacht , it takes mindfulness , minimalism and efficiency to the next level - l will be watching this again just for the focus and ambition it inspires
This is a nice boat.
On the other hand, you could review a plastic bathtub with a pvc drainpipe for a mast and an old towel for a sail and it would still turn out Nice Nick.
Anchor chain counter I believe.
Nick. Thank you for a great tour. I REALLY like this boat. I’m a fan of in mast furling and the self taking foresail. Just a simply fantastic boat.
I was about to get going on a long day of which I wasn’t really looking towards. This just made my morning and put me in a better frame of mind. For that, I am greatly appreciative.
I got the feeling you were looking for extra things to show just so you didn't have to leave the boat ha ha ha ha! did they drag you off kicking and screaming ?
What a superb yacht. And I love the owner's organisation. Everything labelled, everything in its place. Beautiful colour choices for the interior, cabins 2 and 3. Not so taken with the colours on the owner's cabin bed. I know, it's nitpicking. I'm allowed. We're in our 5th lockdown and I'm bored. And I want one of those anchor chain measuring fellows too. I've just got interval tags on my anchor chain. :-)
As usual, thanks Nick, great review and I can really understand why you're taken with this boat.
The owner has to be ex-military with all the labeling and first aid stations
I nearly said "It's nicer than my house". But then it's over twice the price, so I suppose it should be!! :)
You have toured alot of yachts and boats on this channel but which one is your favorite and what would you choose for yourself if you could have one?
I take it the crumple zone is more of a squidgy zone if it's converted to a crew cabin 😳
Dr Who wants his tardis back!
Washing machine , or did I miss that ? 🤣🤣
After Nick reviewed a Mangusta, only one thing left so I can achieve true happiness. Yes, I'm talking about Amel! Please, Nick... :(
I'm pretty sure the 'owners soundproof door' is actually a waterproof? bulkhead.
It's like a tardis, there is soooooo much hidden down below. I particularly like how many windows there are, so airy which helps things just look bigger and spacious
I have wasted so much time watching videos on super yachts I can't afford.
I should have been watching videos of sailing yachts I can't afford.
Nick - a hybrid 68ft cruiser/yacht, has diesel and electric drives also with an interesting, additional perhaps unexpected benefit: ua-cam.com/video/KES0JhPXhvA/v-deo.html
Nice boat but a bit pricy I think, Beneteau tops out at 850k€ (£600k) with the Oceanis Yacht 62 and is way better equipped…
Curious how the crewcabin would look like in that forward compartment, guessing they would reduce the owners cabin for it, or not? 3:58
cat much better overall. monohull good for day sailing in the bay for fun. long trips and living years on the boat you want a cat (buy a semi performance cat).
I can imagine the benefits of such fantastic organisation on the owner's behalf far outweigh the time they've taken to organise everything! Can you imagine a bag of sugar spilling all over the place in choppy waters! 😂
Great tour Nic, as always!
Can't imagine a bag of sugar, only sugar packets.
Not to worry, all of the individual grains of sugar are labeled as well ;)
I'm sure I'd be just as capable of spilling sugar from a labelled containers as from a bag!
1Hr preparation is 2Hrs in the field, always nice to know where everything is and how much of it there is :)
Generally not a fan of sailing boats, but with something like this? I could probably see myself going from Troy to NYC on the Hudson River and have a really good time! (Maybe then sail on to Mystic, Block Island, Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod...) Thanks for the wonderful tour as always, Nick!
Impressive itinerary. Sign me up!
Jeez how many times do you guys say plenty of storage and opening cupboards to prove it sick of seeing cupboards opening
Never leave the dock without a trusty "Anchor chain measuring fellow"!
love the sailboats
Obviously there's a reason because they all do it...but I don't understand why sailboats all place the helm so far back that your butt is basically hanging off the transom.
Well i looked until the end. Seems a good coastal cruiser but certainly not blue water…
Thanks Nick 👍
Thank you for continuing to pander to the wind freaks hiding in your subscriber ranks :D
No worries!
The Hanse boats are a very nice
The width below deck is surprisingly large.
Only one word for the interior "WOW", that is an awesome interior really spacious with loads of storage, if I was into sailing yachts this would be the one for me. It looks more expensive than the actual price. Cheers for the walkthrough Nick really enjoyed it.
Did you say 700 mile range ? Impressive. Great for emergency or no wind days.
Drinks in the freezer? Or are they both fridges? Hmm...
How the eff can you see your tail tells on the genoa from this cockpit?
Really nice boat. If I would decide to have/buy this directly from the factory, I would remove 1 of the head and have the space for washer / dryer for those longer periods out on the sea.
That would be more handy to have than 1 head for each cabin.
Not even my current home have 1 bathroom for each room. Why would I have it on a boat with limited space?
Don't know why it is a trend to have 1 bathroom for each cabin on modern boats.
It's in keeping with the upper class/luxury vibe I guess. Posh bedrooms have en-suites.
@@adamski101 I understand the idea on bigger yacht with lots of space. But not on a "normal size" sail boat. I will rather have the comfort for my self with the utility that I can have in my boat, than rather have shower for each cabin. I wouldn't care if my guests have their own shower and head. They all can share 1 shower and wc. They are guests. If they don't like it, they can get the f. out.
I will rather have 1 big shower where you don't have to stand on the wc to take a shower and have washing/dryer machine. But that is just me.
Boats that tip over while underway, crazy...you should do a showing of a top floor condo from those in the foreground.
I was just looking those up! great location!!
Going on holiday to Cornwall next week. Nick you've inspired us to hire a little boat for the day from Falmouth to explore up and down river. So looking forward to it, I shall be doing some serious boat spotting - even taking the GoPro , Awesome 😀
Enjoy! :)
Another totally professional walk through.
Another great review. The boat? Not so much.
I once attended school with the SON of Mr. Anchor Chain Measuring Fellow - we called him Rusty. But then, to see the very fine Baseball Cap Organizing Locker in the master state room was beyond coincidence as I once had a job at "That" company - Hats Above the Water Lockers, Ltd. We mass produced these lockers as "drop in" devices for master cabins in Atlantic crossing sail boats. It truly is a small World (as I plagiarize Mister Disney). What a great boat, Nick. How do you find them? NO. Dont tell, I like surprises. Thank you for sharing (and laughing?).
I feel sure I’ve seen a video with a yacht, probably not from ”Aquaholiq” with cabins all with a different city theme such as London, Paris, and NY. I really wanna watch it again, can anybody please help me out?🛥⚓️🚀
I think of it as a superyacht toured by a younger brit, like superyacht captain or someone
How do you drive if weather isn’t great
You put a coat on.
Just had a million dollar idea: sometime in the future maybe someone can create a flexible and strong solar panel material that we can make the sails out of, so when you're under way you can charge the batteries with the sails ⛵
Google helios.. this exists already.
@@chriswhite4915 The helios is a concept that "exists" in CAD. Right now it's nothing more than a concept because it's not practical given current technology for a variety of reasons. The best boat solar system currently in production that I'm aware of is the sunreef yachts solar skin that has solar panels on all the exterior surfaces of the catamarans.
Yes i beleaguered you’re right, although i was referring that idea / concept already exsists
All those organized bits and pieces are so get-at-able! I really appreciate a neat and tidy boat. Thank you Nick.
You're very welcome!
Really like this boat. Shoal draft model?
Just asking: is the engine capable of 700 miles? The yacht have that enough feul?
That's a lot of boat for 700,000 sailing yacht .
"Properly Lovely" - great name for a sailing yacht!
What a boat!
Very,very nice
Thumbnail is different from the boat.
Nice boat for the price though I question that there is no place for a decent solar panel installation.
It has a generator. No need for solar.
@@abcdefg3386 Then you do not understand the point of sailing.
@@maxnex7676 Please enlighten me!
Glad to see they have Branston Pickle!
Very nice
Gorgeous boat. Was out sailing (well, motoring, the wind died as soon as we got the sails up) Saturday although a pretty high stress situation in the harbor with all the boats for Newport Folk Fest. Was feeling a bit like Nick though trying to identify the other boats that were tied off or bopping around.
Narragansett Bay and Newport Harbor are gorgeous, but I can’t imagine dealing with the water traffic on such a busy weekend.
@@chasbodaniels1744 normally my friends let others take the helm for a bit...not Saturday. It was pretty nuts.
now this one is gorgeous, I might have missed it in the video but which marina is this?
Ocean Village, Southampton
As a non-sailor, this seems a *very* impressive piece of workmanship. Wow.
That’s spectacular, very impressive 👍
Like the little outtake at the end, a nice inclusion to finish up with 😁
Another excellent tour Nick, wonderful looking craft but if I could just pull you up on your technical terminology, the rear of the the boat is called “the blunt bit” and the front of the boat is “ the pointy bit”. You certainly get a lot of bang for your buck in a sail boat. Carry on sailing…
Dammit, you're right! 😄
Not as spacious as a motor yacht. More work sailing vs motor yacht, and sailing you are healed over, not as comfortable. However less fuel bill, a lot less. I assume you need min crew of 2 competent sailors, 3 better.
I can’t see one of these and not daydream of being a proper sailor. And yes they are all Yanmar engines lol.
When this ship is bigger than the apartman I can afford...
owner... please dont open all my cabinets..
Nick... yes
Awsame yacht.. love hardtop and protected kokpit from sun, wind and rain.. also 700 miles whit engine in no wind conditions. superb and many more good thinks..
I'd like to see more sailing yachts
More coming!
First awesome yacht
