@@erick7brian she was suffering from an eating disorder and self-harm (which is why she used to wear so many bracelets) - as well as feeling miserable due to an overworked Disney contract working on music, promotions, touring, TV (Sonny With a Chance), and DCOMS (Camp Rock, Princess Protection Program, Camp Rock 2) at the same time while she was 15/16/17 - which is young considering that minors were only supposed to be on set for 9 hours, and then having a whole music career on top of that. Demi also developed a cocaine addiction shortly after the release of her second album as her workload kept increasing as she was seen everywhere in 2009/2010. Also she was assaulted by someone she knew at 15 and had to continue seeing the perp after the attack due to them most likely being in the Disney/Hollywood circuit, which led to her bullemia getting worse. All those traumas led to her punching a dancer while coming down off of drugs on the Camp Rock 2 tour.
Gosh watching this now in 2022, you start to realize that Demi's natural style always trended toward this punk rock and hard rock stuff. It just fits her and her voice SO beautifully. Tbh it was probably Disney and her managers that forced her into the 2010-2018 pop-rock era. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE her albums Confident, Cool for the Summer, Heart Attack, etc. But these older songs and the new Holy Fvck just really seem to be HER REALM. She totally OWNS it and she knows it. We, as listeners, can totally feel the buzzing energy she emits when she is freely singing what she wants to sing.
I know this is just "Disney rock", but Demi has a really good rock voice. I really hope that she does more rock-influenced music again someday because I actually got goosebumps when the guitars kicked in during the middle and she just wails the chorus like she's on her dying breath. Born in 1998. I remember this song so much in 2009 being 11 years old. Now I’m 23. After all that my generation has gone through, living in post 9/11 wartime, enduring disasters such as Katrina, then a financial crisis, threats from North Korea, going to school while school shootings occurred like normal, and many other issues.
that's me 2 this guy that I really liked liked me at the beginning of the year and said he was going to ask me to the next dance...the dance is next week and he likes a new girl and he asked her instead. I just found out yesterday and Im still heartbroken and this song just defines what is going on 😥😥😥
“Somewhere we went wrong, we were once so strong, our love was like a song, but you won’t sing along” I’m afraid no one has ever came close to writing something like this ever again ❤
one of my dear friends, like a brother to me, was always there for me, always stood up from me an I did the same for him. I love him. not in a boyfriend-girlfriend way, but like in a way like siblings, I cant live without him. we have our own world when we are together. he were happier than anyone in the world. but I guess I wasn't enough for him. he started smoking, he cut, he hated life. I tried to help him but I couldn't. now he has cancer and is also losing his memory. they say that by next year he will forget everything... even me. this song is for him. and when I do slip away from his memory, when its time for me to cry harder, ill sing this song over and over and pray that someday he can get to know me again and we can be happy like we used to.
Im sure he will always love you!Sometimes people make mistakes and cut off with those that were always by there side...I hope he gets well!I'll pray for him too!:')
Brittany Cook oh cool!! i cant jam this outloud since im 21 and all and a dude haha but its a hidden guilty pleasure :) also i havent a clue how your comment got flagged
Not so long ago, rock was still considered cool. I know this is POP rock, but man, nowadays mainstream music doesn't even have guitars, or real instruments, or feelings. It makes me sad.
+Bruna's One Girl Band I have a friend who writes songs from the heart and has an organic sound. His name is Benjamin Clayton. Check out his channel if u want. I don’t mean to be an ad lol
This was my favorite era of Demi’s. After watching the documentary around a year ago when it came out, I’m so sad to know that she was in such a horrible place during this time.
was anyone else's mind blown back in the day, at the end when she says "but you won't sing along, you've forgotten. About us." like that was so deep smh

Funny how when your 11 you can't really fully understand the lyrics of this song you just think it has a catchy beat! But now I'm crying my eyes out cause I can relate to every word😭
I used to play this song in 2009 with a girl that I used to hang out.. I think it was the happiest time of my live, and I also think that I didn't really enjoy it.. Young people, if you see this, take this little and stupid advice: ENJOY THE MOMENT! I'm still young with 28 years old, but I feel like I have 50, maybe because of my mistakes.. but I'm still fighting and trying so...Cheers and have a nice life :)
Awe! You haven't lost, you've just been attacking the problem from the wrong angle. Don't give up. Head held high, don't you worry just you wait, everything's gonna be great. I see people who feel pain or regret and I feel for them. It's how life is. Those emotional moments that really strike a nerve. Please let all these little rocks in the way be something bigger than you can dream of in the end. Some of the hardest things are the best things. Hope always shines on someone who needs it most. ❤ Sorry for long post... just needed to get this across.

That I was even alive
Did you forget
Everything we ever had
Did you forget

'Bout me
Did you regret
Ever standing by my side
Did you forget
What we were feeling inside
Now I'm left to forget
About us
But somewhere we went wrong

Our love is like a song
You can't forget it
So now I guess
This is where we have to stand
Did you regret
Ever holding my hand
Never again
Please don't forget

Even more in love
Than we were before

You can't forget it
But somewhere we went wrong
We were once so strong
Our love is like a song
You can't forget it
At all
And at last
All the pictures have been burned
And all the past
Is just a lesson that we've learned
I won't forget
Please don't forget about us
But somewhere we went wrong
Our love is like a song
But you won't sing along

same expesily when your trying to txt your boyfriend and he keeps ignoring you but while your txting him he is txting your best friend and ignoring you😭
Yep, I always cry
I can’t believe she was only 16 when she released this. She is so talented
She definitely has the most powerful voice in mainstream pop.
Helengrace Pickering Ariana has the best vocal range, but Demi seems to have the most powerful, and really the strongest, voice. Just my opinion.
James Pickering She needs prayer :)
James Pickering did you see her have youre self a merry little christmas 2014 cause she is amazing .
What about christina aguilera? HA
Ana Losada Demi is better in my opinion.
Demi: *whispers* "don't forget"

+Mariana 01 HAHAHAHA
...Yo por aqui leyendo comentarios en ingles que no entiendo. jajaja
Same bruh sending u luv and light 💫
Yes same
Demi is still the best
I was born in 1998 as well and I'm 23 too, I understand those were tuff times & I love demi ❤ as well
This song aged like fine wine….. the current little Disney stars could NEVA

Don't even give a shit that this is a song by Demi lovato or that it's 6 years old this song is relatable af for me right now unfortunately
Me to, well I guess we both will get through the it.

Yup, same here :(

this guy that I really liked
liked me at the beginning of the year and said he was going to ask me to the next dance...the dance is next week and he likes a new girl and he asked her instead.
I tried to help him but I couldn't. now he has cancer and is also losing his memory. they say that by next year he will forget everything... even me. this song is for him. and when I do slip away from his memory, when its time for me to cry harder, ill sing this song over and over and pray that someday he can get to know me again and we can be happy like we used to.
lo lamento tanto por ti
So sad I'm so sorry I pray that he will remember u one day :'(
Im sure he will always love you!Sometimes people make mistakes and cut off with those that were always by there side...I hope he gets well!I'll pray for him too!:')

my girl... will always be one of my fav Demi songs
Bruna's One Girl Band gotta search harder
Maybe u should check out dreamcatcher just saying
All be writing songs while they high so all they write about is drugs lol

Every breakup song video's basic requirement: rain
llooool truthhhh
ummmmm, TAYLOR SWIFT, never seen rain in her vids
+Zwi 0 (Z0) there's rain in Taylor Swift White Horse music video and it's a really emotional break up song
+Zwi 0 (Z0) Avril Lavigne is My Idol!!!
***** that's it. All I know is that Avril is the fuckin queen
My favorite Demi song. Even all these years later I didn’t forget.
This was my favorite era of Demi’s. After watching the documentary around a year ago when it came out, I’m so sad to know that she was in such a horrible place during this time.
Isabel Lucia me too , sometimes we can see her pain in her voice and her eyes. Where are you from ??
i miss the old disney when the songs were more rock
erica constoncio mee too

I think we all just miss the old Disney period😭😭😢.. Cuz this corny mess rite now is a joke😤

This song made me feel
like a broken hearten belle
who turned into a punk rock star
This will forever be in the music archives
It's only sad if you don't understand the music she produce
was anyone else's mind blown back in the day, at the end when she says "but you won't sing along, you've forgotten. About us." like that was so deep smh
This song used to make my 9 year old self all emotional over a relationship I didnt even have 😂😂😂

*10 years later...still haven’t forgotten this iconic song!*
To this day, this is one of the BEST breakup songs out there, I can feel the build up as it goes on and love the heavier rock part❤️🩹
I dedicate this to my fiance, he passed away from suicide 😔 almost 6 years together. ❤ rest high my love. Henry 😘4/30/1989_ 12/22/2016

Funny how when your 11 you can't really fully understand the lyrics of this song you just think it has a catchy beat! But now I'm crying my eyes out cause I can relate to every word😭

This song was waaay ahead of its time. Happier than ever kinda vibes am I right?

lydia sharman same
Demi deserves more, she deserves better and she deserves her flowers. A lot of us let her down, man. She just really deserves better.
Renzo Paissan you cant just say something like this and expect me not to subscribe to you
I was like 8 yes old those days which makes me 17 now but I feel like a 71yr old .my advice is to appreciate every moment your having because you will miss it later 😣😣😣😣😣
@@marwamnrauf4559 2008 was the best time or my life. I ran outside, played and was so full of energy. I wish I had of been able to be happier about those days at the time. It ends fast. ❤

HarrysonSykes She's happy the way she is now. Back in her Disney Channel days she was going through depression and taking drugs and her bipolar disorder. I miss old Demi too, but I'm pretty sure she's a happier person now that she cane be who she wants to be :3
+Taylor Rant she has bipolar disorder.
Yes
Taylor Rant well..that sucks. Lol. Thank you

Being a kid with no idea what love is...and crying my eyes out. Absolutely crazy.

Lyrics
Did you forget
That I was even alive
Did you forget
Everything we ever had
Did you forget
Did you forget
'Bout me
Did you regret
Ever standing by my side
Did you forget
What we were feeling inside
Now I'm left to forget
About us
But somewhere we went wrong
We were once so strong
Our love is like a song
You can't forget it
So now I guess
This is where we have to stand
Did you regret
Ever holding my hand
Never again
Please don't forget
Don't forget
We had it all
We were just about to fall
Even more in love
Than we were before
I won't forget
I won't forget
About us
But somewhere we went wrong
We were once so strong
Our love is like a song
You can't forget it
But somewhere we went wrong
We were once so strong
Our love is like a song
You can't forget it
At all
And at last
All the pictures have been burned
And all the past
Is just a lesson that we've learned
I won't forget
Please don't forget about us
But somewhere we went wrong
Our love is like a song
But you won't sing along
You've forgotten
About us
Don't forget
A little too long girl
SLS L thank you 😍
thanks
SLS Salgado I appreciate people like you. gracias
2021 and this song still slaps.
yup
Yess
yass
😭😭😭😭
Classic
Them other disney girlies in the early 2000s WISH they could sing like this. Demi's control was incredible, I'm still amazed...
Demi the besttttt
@@yuvalgerhard8169 I agree
She's never let me down unlike the other 2 sadly like, Miley, and Ariana Grande.
I like Selena Gomez for her fun music and lyrics. I try not to go for the voice when it comes to her and enjoy her stuff for being fun then your enjoy Selena's music. But when it comes to voice. I pick Demi easily. She's the best in my opinion. It's the same with Britney Spears. She can sing but they didn't want her to sing for real.
@@stevenmorris2234
Nailed it. Demi had the ability to BELT THE NOTES OUT but they rushed quickly to put the reigns on that.
De onde es??..💚😎💜
She's blowing powerful soulful underrated voice damn
Please don't forget demi was a rock queen
its 2016 and I am still obsessed with this song. tks demi.

I am 18 about to graduate.
I remember being obsessed with this song when I was in 6th grade.
Demi Lovato has such a beautiful voice that will never change.
Are you me from another life.
I am 18 too.
I was obsessed with her in 6th grade too.
I was even about to comment here about all that.
Okay. Same... Creepy.
I'm turning 18 on January 6th, and graduating this year. I used to always listen to this song.
Well I'm in 6th grade and I'm obsessed with her
Same here. She was the first person I saw in concert, I had the biggest crush ❤❤
This is a good song. It reminds all of us to stand up against bullying. It is the truth. Bullying is dead wrong. We need to shut it down. Thanks Demi.
Oh how does it remind you? It's a breakup song.
Your love is like THIS song.
You CANT FORGET IT!!!!
