Just so no one knows, Mitchell and Ness were bought from fanatics a year ago. I was excited about the Mario robin jersey but finding out the fanatics bought them has me worried….
Mitchell and Ness is basically a throwback company. They're very popular with the MLB, NBA, and the NFL as I've seen plenty of 80's and 90's jerseys with the Mitchell and Ness tags on it and they're good quality wise. The fact they're doing it with NHL Jerseys is kinda of a big deal, but they should just stick doing them between the 80's and early 2000's. No way should there be a Vintage Jersey for Crosby, Ovechkin (unless it's the OG screaming eagle), McDavid, Matthews, and especially Adam Fox.
Straight up trash. This is their equivalent of their NBA Swingman jerseys, meant to be more affordable by being produced with cheaper materials. But as you said yourself, there’s no way I’m paying $200 for this Fanatics-esque quality especially when you can get a Fanatics one for less. Even Reebok’s Premier line of jerseys were far better and cheaper than this trash. Now I personally don’t collect the Fanatics jerseys, but you can always find the proper era ones by CCM/KOHO/Reebok/Adidas/NIKE and often at great prices on eBay/Mercari/OfferUp. Hell, I scored an Ultrafil Center Ice Authentic player jersey off of eBay last year for $150? 🤔 Sheesh.
The sad thing about the Devils fanatic jersey crest damage I remember they advertise that you can fold the jerseys crest without damaging it and clearly that’s false advertising by fanatics .
Thank you for exposing these guys....I've been searching for ways to make a custom hockey jerseys for my beer league team and am finding similar issues in the fact nothing is made with any quality or pride nowadays
I agree that the first impression leaves much to be desired. At the same time it's good there's now a third company making liscensed NHL jerseys. More companies making jerseys means more competition for our dollars. That's generally good news for fans and jersey collectors.
Mitchell & Ness is the throwback leader my son. Their line of NHL from about a decade ago was very high quality, almost exact reproductions of the original jerseys they were throwing back to. (Mesh for the 80’s Oilers, ultrafil for the 90’s Kings, and even durene for the 60’s Leafs jerseys) I grant you that these do not look nearly as good as those were… these do look as though they have been manufactured with far less quality.
I have a 89-90 SCF Bruins one and the quality is amazing as soon as adidas took over it went down hill…M&N is owned by Fanatics now but they still come out with vinyl crap like this the Bergeron 2011 jersey looks laughable next to even a Bruins adidas one…Fanatics needs to address this I’d go nuts for an avalanche authentic 2001 finals jersey or any koho-ccm-Reebok authentic. Fanatics has the factory it’s just a matter of them caring or seeing the value in production of legit ones again…it just makes the league look bad the NBA/NFL ones are all good quality
I checked out the Flyers Lindros jersey at a local store. The color of the jersey was much better in person. HOWEVER , the logo is lower quality than Fanatics! It's smaller and a newer rubber material. Only thing good about the rubber is it doesn't have the bending issues. It's like real rubber! Jersey runs smaller like Mitchell and Ness baseball and football jerseys. DEFINITELY not worth $200 !!!!
Mitchell & Ness are a company based out of Philadelphia. They were known for higher quality vintage NFL and NBA and sometimes MLB apparel. Great stuff but also expensive. Issue now is they were bought out by Fanatics so the expected quality is going down. Your criticisms are valid and it's such a disappointment to see.
That is shocking you have never heard of Mitchell & Ness. They have been making apparel for a long time. Especially since some of their merchandise is sold on the Fanatics website. They definitely make better hats than any of the lazy crap that Fanatics makes.
I own two (Canucks 1970 & Canadiens 1993 stanley cup finals) Mitchell & Ness jerseys from the first run, and they're great additions in my collection. However, these look horrible during this second run. They look fake.
I've bought a dozen of the BB jerseys from M&N. Yes the pics on their site suck. They dont true represent what you are getting. In reality the BB jerseys are high quality. The colors, logos, etc have been spot on. Yes their logo/tag at the bottom of the jersey does suck but as far as the BB jerseys go you can hardly see it w/the way your arm hangs down. They mail the jerseys in large sturdy bubble type envelopes w/the jersey packaged in plastic & w/the white tissue paper. Yes the reg prices are too high but once a month they will have a 25-35% off (just about everything) sale. The best sale was last Nov they had 40% off (again just about everything). I did receive one jersey that had a large crease on the logo. I sent them pics & they gave me a refund w/no hassle & no cost to me. To be honest w/you I find the videos you do such as this one or the NHL Viewership Down more enjoyable bc they are a diff perspective of the hockey world. Your hard work is greatly appreciated!!!
These look terrible, I'd stay away, not just because of inaccuracies and how cheap the materials look but also in the cuts and how they'd likely fit, just no bueno all around. M&N was much better 20+ years ago when they were making vintage baseball and football jerseys from years gone by but quality has taken a nosedive while pricing hasn't.
This is terrible quality jerseys for Mitchell and ness they due pretty good on the jerseys with the nba mlb and nfl and keeping the good quality stitching of the era the jerseys from also usually do a lot of championship games from the early 2010s but these are not up to their normal quality
Man who is a jersey and brand fanatic has never heard of Mitchell and Ness and also pronounces Nike as "Nyke". Love ya man but use Google a little more.
I see what you mean. But I will admit I am more of a hat person. Can you please do a video or something on where you have gotten your hats from? Please?
Mitchell & Ness was bought by Fanatics. I think it was last February about a year ago. Mitchell & Ness make really nice hats. I like their old NHL ones they’re kinda hard to find, and they make nice winter hats too. M & N were my first choice as the next company to make NHL jerseys. This may be a test run to see how people react and how well they sell. Obviously they’re trash I consider them counterfeits. People who have a passion for jerseys, the quality on all the details that make up a a great jersey. I believe that we were a small community. The majority of people that buy NHL jerseys are just people who are fans they don’t really care. You know how quality to the logo is or the material the stitching the embroidery. Those are the consumers at Fanatics targets. They jack the price up to $200 by calling them “vintage” and there are some in this vintage lineup that were made not too long ago. If they become to Jersey makers oh my goodness do they have to step that game up big big big time. The crests look like those old Reebok shoulder patches screen printed vinyl, Nnnooooo way! Am I buying those. Because I’m not buying that kind of stuff I didn’t like Reebok jerseys I never bought any home and or away jerseys from any other teams except the Penguins, who are my favorite team, and I hardly ever wore those jerseys. The only Reebok jerseys I ever bought were third jerseys and the outdoor game jerseys.
Mitchell & Ness make a lot of overpriced NFL and NBA jerseys, but judging by these comments I'd dare say that they know absolutely nothing about the NHL.
@@Post2PostProductions some of the best material out there. Only thing will have to agree with is some of the colors are a bit off. I noticed that with my lakers shaq jersey. But material is definitely of higher quality than Nike
The fact that all of them have color issues and the fact I doubt a well known company and the league would allow wrong colors leads me to believe the colors will be fine in person. I've seen a lot of pics of unis that look completely off due to light. As someone who has knowledge I'm surprised you are so sceptical. And tbf, you shouldn't knock the quality of the logos without seeing them. A good example is how you decided you wouldn't purchase a flames rr because in the Pic it appeared there was a line going across. As an owner of one there is no fold. It's not a big deal or anything but I think if someone is going to make content and form an opinion on something where people might be swayed because they respect you, you should review the item in person. I could be wrong but you make money off your videos so being transparent and informed to the fullest seems like the right thing to do.
The owners of Mitchell and Ness sold the company to new people it’s a real shame the new owners cut corners and don’t care about putting out quality material.
I have a few Detroit Tigers Mitchell and Ness jerseys. They are excellent quality. Also, I have CCM and Starter, authentic game Wayne Gretzky jerseys, from the 90s. The logos were not made cheap, back then. They were made top notch. Neil, I think you're jumping the gun, by bashing these M&N jerseys, before actually seeing them, in person.
If you notice they don’t have the fight straps so most likely there will be an authentic line coming out. M&N has 2 lines of jerseys one is the cheaper version and one is the authentic. Their authentic NFL stuff runs like $300 and the replica ones that have the vintage patch everyone’s complaining about run about $130-$180 and are made the same way it looks like these are made.
Question could I make uniforms for the NHL teams through NHL 23 & send them to you to review? Longtime fan but that's my only way to customize and I enjoy doing it always trying for realistic looking jerseys but always found it fun so would be interested in hearing your review and thoughts thank you
Mitchell and Ness has especially been popular with hats over the past decade or so. It's understandable that you haven't heard of them, though, since any hats you get for this channel are Adidas or Fanatics manufactured 👍
I don't intentionally purchase Fanatics or Adidas hats only for the channel. I have Reebok, CCM, 47' and other manufacturers hats as well. It comes down to availability, and in Canada I have never once seen a M&N hat for sale. I also do not browse eBay for hats, or really anything else so I would have no exposure to common search results. When it comes to hats, I buy what is easy and most cost effective the majority of the time. I do not give brand preference.
@@Post2PostProductions Fanatics makes the most boring hats. That's why they are cheap (they really aren't even that cheap). Mitchell & Ness made quality NHL jerseys before. They are somewhat common on eBay. They have also made shirts and other merchandise. I don't live close to any stores either that carry them. But they are easily found on other store websites.
I could be wrong in my generalization, but ive always seen Mitchell and Ness as having two customer segments, its for people who want to wear a jersey for the fashion sense (ive been asked before to buy a hockey jersey for someone, not caring about the jersey itself or whats on it, it was just fashionable to wear one) and the making of jerseys that might not be so easy to find anymore. Us serious hockey jersey collectors arent the main target market.
I really like some of their apparel, but I've only bought shirts on clearance from them simply because they're so expensive. They hold up well, but for the price I can't buy them all the time
As an owner of a Mitchell & Ness NFL jersey I gotta say I love it and am shocked at some of the poor quality choices here. Hoping it’s just the lighting and angles
Mitchell and Ness is as reputable as it gets. They are definitely the leaders in throwbacks here in the states, their merchandise has always been quality. M&N had an NHL license for a long time, somewhere in the last 10 years they lost it, on a rare occasion you'll see a M&N jersey in usually a very large size pop up on eBay. I very excitedly ordered a Messier 94 Cup jersey this morning, but worth keeping in mind it does appear by the pictures these will be M&N's "replica" NHL line. MLB has BP jerseys, the NBA has swingman jerseys and NFL has legacy jerseys. I assume at some point they will release true authentics with period-correct materials and stitching, but prepare for those to be anywhere from $300-400 USD if the "blue line" jerseys are $200.
When Mitchell & Ness started making vintage, authentic baseball jerseys in the mid to late 80s, their quality was second to none and were historically-accurate, right down to the last detail. I think I remember hearing that Mitchell & Ness even used actual jerseys from the time period to make sure that every detail was exact. I have two Brooklyn Dodgers Mitchell & Ness jerseys and it looks in every detail the way the players used to wear them back in the 40s and 50s. According to their website, in 1998-2000 they were granted the rights to produce jerseys for the NFL, NBA, and NHL as well. At the time to me, the quality seemed to be the same top notch level as their baseball jerseys. Fast forward to today, it seems like the quality of Mitchell & Ness has gone way down and that they are more concerned with pumping out merchandise to make money than they are concerned with the high standers of quality. This could be due to the company now being owned by corporate owners, one of which I heard, like others have said being Fanatics.

Thank you for exposing these guys....I've been searching for ways to make a custom hockey jerseys for my beer league team and am finding similar issues in the fact nothing is made with any quality or pride nowadays
Where can I get stitch real hockey jerseys
M&N used to be really good quality. I guess they've dropped off and for how much they charge this is ridiculous.
This is a shame, their baseball jerseys are great vintage jerseys. I hope they just hired a bad photographer
It's not the photographer. The quality of the materials is horrible. None of this rubbish should cost more than $50.
What do you mean that you never heard of Mitchell and Ness?
They make Blue Jays merchandise too. So it's quite surprising that none of the stores up there apparently doesn't carry anything from the company.
I agree that the first impression leaves much to be desired. At the same time it's good there's now a third company making liscensed NHL jerseys. More companies making jerseys means more competition for our dollars. That's generally good news for fans and jersey collectors.
literally got a game used cbj cannon jersey for 200$
gavin bayruther too still plays for us
Mitchell & Ness makes great quality jerseys I have one on now I love em...
Mitchell & Ness is the throwback leader my son. Their line of NHL from about a decade ago was very high quality, almost exact reproductions of the original jerseys they were throwing back to. (Mesh for the 80’s Oilers, ultrafil for the 90’s Kings, and even durene for the 60’s Leafs jerseys)
I grant you that these do not look nearly as good as those were… these do look as though they have been manufactured with far less quality.
Jersey Jaguar has a video how to iron the crease out of the logo.
You've never heard of Mitch & Ness? That's bizarre.
Why spend on M & N when you can easily get good quality of jerseys from eBay,Team Pro Shop, Certified Websites and Thrift store
Bro it’s they cheap version. It’s only 200 bucks.
Man I have a M&N jersey and it’s light years beyond the Fanatics jersey I ended up giving away. Neil educate yourself before you talk dog
I like mitchell and ness I have the burger king jersey from the kings
Big Boston fan, they was definitely off on that color. The supposed yellow is orange lol
I don't like any of the Reebok either.
Nothing from Mitchell & Ness are low quality
Alibaba has better quality jerseys. Total money grab.
Mitchell & Ness make a lot of overpriced NFL and NBA jerseys, but judging by these comments I'd dare say that they know absolutely nothing about the NHL.
I have an older M&N 1993-94 Brian Leetch jersey and the quality is nothing like this. I’m really surprised at the drop in quality
Fanatics own Mitchell and Ness now. 😢
@@gerrylee1687 that explains a lot then…both how they got the NHL stuff back and why it’s not as good as before.
How the hell have you not heard of mitchell and ness 😂
Just haven't. Most of the hats they make aren't my style, so any time I'm in a hat store like Lids I don't even consider looking at them.
@@Post2PostProductions some of the best material out there. Only thing will have to agree with is some of the colors are a bit off. I noticed that with my lakers shaq jersey. But material is definitely of higher quality than Nike
I own the Road Black flying V from Mitchell &Ness. Their old quality of NHL jerseys were amazing.
You think the Hurricanes will get one anytime soon?
It's quite obvious from the pictures that the materials is extremely low quality.
The owners of Mitchell and Ness sold the company to new people it’s a real shame the new owners cut corners and don’t care about putting out quality material.
New company is Fanatics😕
Don’t know how you can accurately judge quality off a photo but sure
I never claimed to. In fact, I said the opposite twice in this video.
Do they run big or true to size??
They're similar to Fanatics in the sense that they make better hats than they do jerseys...
Fanatics makes good hats?
I have a few Detroit Tigers Mitchell and Ness jerseys. They are excellent quality. Also, I have CCM and Starter, authentic game Wayne Gretzky jerseys, from the 90s. The logos were not made cheap, back then. They were made top notch. Neil, I think you're jumping the gun, by bashing these M&N jerseys, before actually seeing them, in person.
Rip off
I heard of them recently but in the NBA market. They are sold on the fanatics website.
If anyone searches eBay regularly, Mitchell & Ness items are quite common in the search results. So I was shocked he didn't know about them.
They are making the jersey in the vintage material as well.
I really like some of their apparel, but I've only bought shirts on clearance from them simply because they're so expensive. They hold up well, but for the price I can't buy them all the time
Yeah, I'm seeing $50 for shirts that probably cost $5 to make. Nice shirts. But not for that much.
As an owner of a Mitchell & Ness NFL jersey I gotta say I love it and am shocked at some of the poor quality choices here. Hoping it’s just the lighting and angles
It's not the lighting or camera angle. All these jerseys really are that bad.
@@fantasticvoyage262 damn that’s unfortunate to hear
Mitchell & Ness is the best quality I've been an average buyer of Mitchell and that's jerseys for years You should try one You might like it my friend
Waynes jersey has been done many times
Mitchell & Ness make amazing vintage gear! Their hats are so awesome! Have awesome products from them!
Kings should still be using that early 90s jersey today
Nah. The purple and black are better.
@@fantasticvoyage262 oh they are?
@@Realistic316 No question.
@@fantasticvoyage262 oh cool!

the most horrifying thing about that Sabres Fanatics jersey is thte sh!t stain on the back
