Mitchell & Ness used to be of high quality many years ago. Fans were confident in what they put out as an independent company for producing nearly identical jerseys to what CCM put out as the on-ice product. This is ALL Fanatics fault when they bought them! Since they dominate the market, they think they can sacrifice quality for mass production of products. Sick of it, honestly.
@@NHLCrazy2007I didn’t know that, I was going off all my baseball batting practice jerseys I bought for $80 that look accurate. I was going buy this 2004 Tampa Bay Lightning Martin St. Louis jersey, however I’m going pass now, not for $200 and fact I know Fanatics is involved, they’ve just ruined MLB ON FIELD jersey’s. Very disappointing because I love that Lightning style and even has 2004 Stanley Cup patch, I just can’t risk paying that much and losing on shipping if I want return.
@@detroittigers1282 Very sorry to hear that you are unable to buy the authentic jerseys anymore because of the rapid decline in quality. And you are better off saving that money. And for the hockey jerseys, no doubt I would not get any of the new M&N ones because they are NOT the real jerseys and as I stated previously, they do not in any way live up to the standards of an on-ice jersey. Still paying for the cost of one, but getting a cheap knock off in return. Hockey fans fear the worst until we get any proof that we will see the quality of at the very least the current Adidas Primegreen jersey (made in Indonesia) or if we hold out for demanding the on-ice jersey (made in Canada... known as MiCs). And God forbid that our fears happen and all we are offered are cheap replica jerseys at full price, the secondary market for past authentic jerseys will skyrocket. I would plan carefully on how you spend your money after this season. Only way Major League Baseball reverses course is if the players enmasse refuse to wear them and the fans in the highest majority do not buy the inferior jersys for the ridiculous cost. Soon, we will pay $300 for oversized napkins draped on our bodies.
Saw both the Mighty Ducks white & eggplant jerseys and boy do they absolutely blow! It’s freakin cheaper to get a good decent quality of the original CCM versions AND getting them properly customized than this absolute POS!
Yup, they are basically only there to get people who don't know how/where to look for the original jerseys. Which I think is fine in theory, but when they look like this and cost this much, it feels very scummy
I've been wanting an old Penguins Ultrafil jersey that CCM/Maska made in the late 80s/early 90s. The one with the modern-day penguin logo but back when the beak was wide open and had a bigger/sharper eyebrow to make it look angry. I call it the angry penguin logo. They're ridiculously hard to find and not extremely overpriced. So when Mitchell & Ness recently made that exact style with the 1992 Cup patch I was so happy but then even more disappointed when I found out about the godawful quality. I'll never touch anything Fanatics has a hand in. Unfortunate many other great jerseys were ruined by Fanatics/M&N.
Well I'm going to make a video on this soon, but apparently they are making a second generation of these blue line jerseys that are a bit higher quality. Hopefully they remake a few of the previous ones they've already made.. and for you, hopefully that includes a Pens one.
I wouldn't even justify 50 dollars American for these and I'm saying it pieces of crap as a collector since I was about 14 years old it's literally insane that jerseys made in the early 1990s can still end up being so much better quality than alot of the stiff made today I mean just insane and I remember doing a video from a lids store at mall of America showing these M@N jersey and just how awful they are I mean good lord just horrible and yet people buy them because they just don't know how good these jerseys were when made under the CCM/Koho umbrella just unreal
I have a few of these. I have the robo Pens Lemieux, the 09 finals Crosby and the 01 finals Sakic. If you can get them around the $100 range its worth it. They had a sale for memorial day where they were $120 and i found the Lemieux for $100 on ebay. I would never pay full price for these
I am a big Edmonton Oilers fan from Edmonton and I have seen the M&N 2006 Cup Final Jersey's pop up for sale locally and I took a look at one in person and wow, as someone who has a CCM 6100 crested with that patch, seeing all that single layer printing is just awful, borderline sacrilege for 250$ Canadian! You could easily get a used replica and have it properly crested with that patch for a similar amount.
Yup I just saw an Owen Nolan San Jose Sharks jersey on the Mitchell and Ness site. I don’t even care anymore, I’m going to get it. Can’t even find anything with his name anywhere unless you have $400 for eBay
As an oilers fan I was excited to see one of the oilers jersey in the store until I got close to it. Absolute garbage. The colours were not accurate (ie the thin red stripes that outline the copper stripe was clearly darker orange rather than red) everything...numbers, patches, logo, was single layer plastic (not even vinyl). This is barely a step up from replica crap that used to be sold at discount stores. I feel bad for anyone who buys or gets one as a gift this Xmas because a lump of coal would be better.
I finally saw one of these, a 2003 Stanley Cup Finals Devils Scott Niedermayer, in person last week and it was as awful as advertised, cheap plasticky material used for the name, numbers and patch, Fanatics really should be ashamed.
New to buying hockey jerseys how does mitchell and ness jerseys fit if u kno smaller than normal shirt size bc it's baggy or tts or maybe size up idk anything helps thanks
Haven't purchased an M&N jersey myself, so maybe not the best person to comment. But from looking at pictures and seeing them in person, they seem to fit more like old-school jerseys. So I'd think they'd be a bit baggy/boxy
Do you grind your teeth dude I am a dental student and it looks like you’re left. Incisor tooth is ground down? Watch, how your mouth is when you’re sleeping man
This kind of analysis is why you're my favorite hockey jersey UA-camr. Keep up the great work!
Thanks!
Imagine sewing down a screen printed team crest

Did they get bought out? What the hell happened?
@@walterwhite1 Yes, Fanatics bought them. That's why their jerseys they now put out are also crap.

I have two Mitchell & Ness jerseys and I am glad that the positioning of the logos and numbers aren't botched like these ones.
2009 the replies Winter Classics did come with the patches

Fanatics has ruined Mitchell & Ness
I saw some of them at a Mitchell and Ness store in Philly and my god they suck I refuse to buy them
Where did you get your Mighty Ducks jersey from? I can never find the white version of that jersey
I just picked it up on eBay a few years back
I just sold the one I had.
@@NHLCrazy2007 where did you get yours from?
@@danielsingh8822 No, I sold it. I no longer own the jersey. I had acquired it in a bulk sale from the original owner, a friend I worked with.
dude amazing analysis
I think I’m just gonna get one on sale for the culture. I like the Nordiques jerseys they have even if the quality is lacking

The M&N logos look like those frosting print-outs that you'd put on a cake. At least those are edible, these things are completely worthless...
I think they made the logo small because the logos were small in the 80s
I was thinking that too but with the EDM 05 jersey also being small (at least to me), I don't know if it was intentional
They won’t ever make an Ottawa jersey so they won’t get my money.
I wonder why Mitchell and Ness fell off so much in quality
They got bought out by Fanatics a little while ago.
Do you grind your teeth dude I am a dental student and it looks like you’re left. Incisor tooth is ground down? Watch, how your mouth is when you’re sleeping man
I would rather not have something at all than overpay for something of poor quality.
Some of them look better than the original.
But they’re screen printed like a t-shitt
I guess
Let’s pretend the quality of the jersey is same, still want an accurate version. The whole point is being accurate.
