I'm an ex-addict with 13 years clean. When my active addict friends ask my advice, I clearly tell them that I can only speak on MY OWN experiences. 13 yrs clean doesn't make me an expert on addiction. Too bad Rewired Soul doesn't understand that concept.
A lot of addicts think they're psychologists after they get sober. That's exactly what this guy is doing. Giving psychological advice without being a trained or accredited professional. It's wrong and potentially illegal.
That's why i wasn't a fan of NA when i got clean. It's one thing to suggest advice but it's completely different to preach it regardless if the person wants it or not while acting like you're all knowing about the subject matter. It made going to meetings feel really cliquey and like i would be ripped apart for any small mistake they potentially saw or heard me make. It's great NA and AA work for so many people but it just wasn't for me for these reasons. I've been clean for over 3 yrs now and have been in regular therapy but i can't stand when people claim to give advice when they're really just preaching about what they believe and shoving it down anyone who will listens throat. I think it's fine to give psychological advice to someone based off your own experiences and knowledge but you need to remember that you're not an expert and tell whoever you're talking to, to also see a mental health professional in regards to whatever you gave them advice about. I feel like there's a fine line between constructive advice/input to offensive commanding/ harassing where it ends up feeling like you're being talked down to.
@@maceface2892 First off, i doubt you'll end up like him if you have enough self awareness to recognize you don't want to be like that. And second off, in my opinion, the only recovering addicts that end up like this are the ones that only recovered from using drugs but didn't put any work into changing the lifestyle and perspective of mind that led them to using which is why they still do such shitty things and are always involved in some sort of drama.
Yeah, Christ, anyone who criticises him is the bad guy, what snakey fucker. I love that in his reply to a comment criticising his snap judgement of people based off small parts of their lives, he MAKES A SNAP JUDGMENT BASED OFF OF ONE COMMENT. Dude needs to go back to the shrink, as someone with the same qualifications as him.
The people who defend him with "it's just a piece of paper, to discredit everything he says because of a piece of paper is ridiculous" make me laugh so hard. Like okay, I had my kidney removed and I read alot of medical books on how to perform surgery, will you kindly let me perform your surgery for you? Actually no I will forcibly do it, despite you asking me to stop, I will do it because it is my duty, because I'm helping you in the long run! A piece of paper? Madame Gin i believe this was the first video made about the rewired soul. a little while later many more videos were made on him as people started to realise how shady he was
I feel like Primink is a very smart, honest, and intellectual person. He brings light to cloudy situations. He does large and factual research on every topic he Amelia video on. And shows both sides of the controversy he is talking about.
my dead dad's uncle's brother in law's second cousin to the third right of god's aunt's class friend's favorite singer's brother's pet salamander's grandfather's least favorite brother's mail man's dog is a psychologist, that means i am one too!!!
Oh yeah, totally. Especially if she qualified before you were born, cuz all her credentials get passed through the umbilical cord to you. In fact, you were born clutching the certificates in your tiny little hands👐😊
I went off The Rewired Soul when he made a video on Emma Blackery's BPD diagnosis. She didn't want to talk about her diagnosis beyond letting people know she had it and TRS made a whole video about how she should feel more positively about her mental illness and should be expected to be an advocate for mental health. It was obvious that it really upset Emma. I think of a lot of his videos come off as kind of exploitative and I also think he plays armchair psychologist a lot. It seems like he started out with a genuine interest in mental health but now I think he cares a bit too much about views and subscribers, not the people he's making videos about who can be hurt by his actions. Now he's just a drama channel masked as a mental health channel.
@@Jonqen She didn't want to. It's not much different than asking a person with a disease to talk about it even though it makes the sad & uncomfortable.
I know that a lot of people have been giving you shit about this video... But as a *Real Licensed Therapist*, he is completely wrong about his "career". No real therapist puts out blanket statements, like he does, about strangers on the internet. It's incredibly irresponsible. It's unethical. He's just a hobbyist that has learned that views equal money and money equals power.

I was biased before this vid and automatically was on The Rewired Soul’s side. But within less than an hour I did my little research and saw some of his disturbing responses and I can now clearly see how manipulative and hostile Chris really is.
Why are people taking any UA-cam channel at face value? Enjoy the entertainment factor, do your own research and especially for mental health and other medical stuff do what the majority of these content creators say about seeking out a professional if you have concerns.
SAMEEE. I am sad & ashamed to express how big of a follower I was to him. You can just tell by LOOKING AT HIM just like Trisha was implying, that he is wayyy too overly aggressive and wants to threaten these poor drama channels. Sick.
To be fair, he has said he used to be a very manipulative person in one of his videos. It really seems like he has put in the effort in to change, but those traits don’t go away quite as easily as you may think.
@@Kat.15.07 he's just a really bad Hollywood snake, everything is fake in his group plus there were really credible rape allegations toward his close friend
I AGREE. I’ve followed The Rewired Soul since the beginning. I have unsubbed because he is a man in denial about what his true motives are. He’s on a righteous high horse. Stampeding through creating content that makes him a hypocrite. Mental health is important to him, yes. High-tempered, egotistical, unprofessional gossip is also important to him. If he hid less behind “mental health” his behavior would concern me none. To anyone struggling with their mental health, please be careful with what you consume as “good examples of mental health”
It seems like he started off with his heart in the right spot, but once he started gaining popularity you can see where he started changing his content. I've been following him since before he got popular as well and there's definitely a difference in the type of content he puts out now. Maybe he figured it was the easiest ways to get views and maybe he's always saying he's not a drama channel because he doesn't see it that way, but that's kind of what it's turned into at this point. He does have some good points with some subjects, but he could definitely run his channel in a more productive way.
Alligatoranater I think everyone should unfollow him. There’s soo many videos showing everything. How he’s laughing in texts about causing harm towards Tricia. He’s a manipulator. I thought he was good bc he’s a good manipulator.
I can’t believe the thumbs up on my post. I hoped but did not expect that so many people would see him as clearly as I did. He responded to one of my comments a few weeks back. His response was very troubling when I only wrote to be constructive. Especially troubling considering what he posed to be. I hope he finds clarity and learns to be honest with himself. I hope that everyone who followed his preach and was negatively influenced is finding their clarity too. It was really strange to hear him repeat the words I called him in my original comment... He outlined some of his faults in his apology video. Will look further into what people are saying about videos where he discusses money/views/greed etc....
After coming back and rewatching your video, I am so sorry for defending him when this originally came out and I'm glad he is getting called out for his manipulative and gaslighting behavior. His channel just feels like a scam in itself which feels icky.

As a mental health professional myself, it's appalling how much this guy is making judgements about people that he doesn't even know in real life. Even if he did know them, judgements are a big no no in clinical psychiatry. He wouldn't last a week at my organization. He has no business pretending that anything he says has any therapeutic or clinical value.

Around the time I found the rewired soul I was going through a (licensed!) alcohol recovery program - 8 months sober now! I subscribed as I thought it may be a good place for me to receive some extra motivation, but after a few weeks I came to realise that his attempt to be harsh but fair towards UA-camrs always had a nasty, arrogant tinge to it. What really made me start questioning his channel was when people would give him any kind of constructive criticism and his responses were always extremely defensive and dismissive of any view that does not 100% align with his. I had sent him a PM describing my struggles with alcohol addiction after my fiance was killed and received no reply. This wouldn't usually bother me, UA-camrs are busy after all, but he would *always* have the time to belittle literally anyone criticising him, but not the time to send a message to a subscriber suffering.

Okay but I do want to point out that Kati Morton is a marriage counselor. That doesn't mean she's qualified on all things mental health. She's certainly more qualified than this guy. She has a degree in psychology. But she still spread misinformation when she was on Shane Dawson's channel.

In response to Chris's comment to you Primink, you should have said, "If I had a depressed friend then I would recommend therapy PRIVATELY. I wouldn't insult and criticize them in front of the entire internet... because that would make them more depressed. Public humiliation can have that effect. Duh. " The Rewired Soul is either deeply misguided or intentionally exploitative. I go back and forth on that.
I like the theory someone else had that he's a narcissist, which would allow him to kind if be both. He's intentionally exploiting these people because he doesn't it matters "so long as as much people as possible hear HIM speak", he says that all the time in his videos to justify his clickbait. Personally, I think he's deluded himself into thinking he's God's gift to the mentally ill, and is willing to do exploitative shit like this in order for everyone to hear him talk, because he has the real answers, yet for some reason needs clickbait to keep people watching. I much prefer Psych_IRL, she seems a lot more grounded and is far more respectful and less accusatory in her vids.
@@TheAltair2012 I'll have to check her channel out. Personally, I'm quite fond of MedCircle. It manages to be entertaining while not engaging in clickbait or dramatic bullshit. And the channel brings on real psychologists, psychiatrists, and occassionally people suffering from a certain mental illness to discuss their experience. They actually did a great series on Narcissistic Personality Disorder...
I would have also added "These people you're forcibly diagnosing also aren't your friends. They don't know you in real life. You probably don't even care that much about them." As for The Rewired Soul's intentions, I think he's doing it more for views than anything. He could have stuck to talking about general mental health but it was only when he hit that niche market with diagnosing famous UA-camrs and realizing that got him more views that probably changed his course, and thus, changed his intents as a channel advocating for mental health awareness. He knows there's a section of UA-cam where people do like trying to diagnose UA-camrs with various mental health issues and it's almost like he decided that he likes being front and center on the platform with his videos. His message about mental health has definitely gotten lost once he turned his channel into a Diagnosing UA-camrs Drama channel.
I’m a psych student but I would never think that it would be ok for me to diagnose people. I could observe and give suggestions, but the most I’ll advise is to seek help, and avoid self-diagnosing.
@@jaimeclevenger4116 There's a lot wrong with that. Unqualified opinions can be extremely harmful especially to people who struggle with mental health. That's the reason why only qualified and experienced psychologists and psychiatrists give diagnoses.

You know I really think he started out with good intentions, and then UA-cam money started coming in. And then he started looking into passive income to advertise to his viewers, whose numbers just kept increasing by the popularity of the content creator he talked about. I haven't watched his videos in a while because its the same stuff over and over again, but maybe he's also become a little arrogant. It's too bad, I really liked what I thought he was gonna do with his channel.
Kitty Carpenter I thought that too. He loves the money and has possibly actually convinced himself that he’s doing something good. Being poor my whole life, hell, I imagine I’d have a bit of a time adjusting to a suddenly successful UA-cam channel. He’s still a piece of shit.
As someone studying Psychology I’m really surprised that more people aren’t critiquing his method. To analyze these topics from the psychological perspective (of someone else’s life mind you) you have to assume and fill in a lot of gaps since you don’t know them or their situation. Anyone in the science field (even Chris with his very limited credentials) should understand that everyone has confirmation bias, he projects a lot of his issues and ideas into these people and their situations because he is not an expert and hasn’t appropriately conversed with these people to have a proper educated opinion. He’s a better marketed Peter Monn and that’s about it.
I feel like people aren't critiquing him is because a lot of people thought he was a professional in this field, like he has a license and studied psychology. I sure did and I just thought that's what you people did but boy was I wrong
I tried to comment this exact thing saying how old his bullshit is getting tryna act like he knows everything on a psychology level, and all his fans attacked me saying he’s a great guy and I’m a hater like nah a few videos , Ohk I get it. I totally agree - except about Katie Morton. I liked her channel up until she did the Shane Dawson series and basically spent an entire episode “diagnosing” a person she had never met as being a possible sociopath (despite that not being an area of treatment she is a specialist in) and speaking about mental illness in a non inclusive manner (using terms like “yucky”) and then when fans voiced concerns she called them haters and never addressed the issue. I was so seriously let down by her behaviour - super disappointing.
i agree. i have conflicting thoughts about her sometimes. she does have good information about eating disorders which helped me a lot but it made me confused how she went totally unprofessional in the shane series!
Wouldn't she be rather knowledgable in sociopaths, psychopaths, etc? Since her area of expertise is marriage counseling, where she'd then also have to be knowledgable in personality disorders in order to make it so she can pinpoint the issues affecting a marriage that may be out of the marriage - or relationship two may have - itself? Marriage counsiling would require you to be an expert in multiple fields.
@@GoodFunVideos depends what she did her subject on. Considering she is a marriage counsellor, I doubt she haa anything more than what her books tell you. He can claim he’s not diagnosing all he wants but he’s implying diagnosis. Just like someone going “I’m not saying this person assaulted someone but here’s all the ways he could have assaulted someone”. It’s an implication. Especially by his thumb nails and titles. When you study journalism you learn that people often read headlines and titles and take it as fact without reading the full article. Someone can read his Gabbie Hana video where he has anxiety and avoidance disorder right next to her name and someone could take that implication as fact and say she has avoidance disorder which she has never publicly admitting to having and even if she does have avoidance disorder it’s her choice to tell the world about that
He implies diagnosis because he is trying to teach lessons based off of whatever diagnosis he is trying to teach about. He finds a youtuber, celeb, whatever that is exhibiting similar symptoms to whatever he is trying to discuss and use it as a teaching method for his followers and more importantly his son. Its a teaching method, its used by more than just him. Also.. people can assume alot of things. Its not his fault that people dont click on his videos and watch them and only go off the title. He even says in his videos there is a reason he does the title and thumbnails the way he does (kind of clickbaity) and its because of the algorithm. Most of his videos arent even really about the person in the thumbnail as much as his own personal stories/experience he just uses similiar situations with youtubers because its relatable to alot of the youtube audience and makes it easier for the viewer to visualize. Just like with Shane Dawson and the Jake Paul sociopath thing. Shane highhhhllyyyyyy implied Jake was a sociopath with literally everything about that series and even used videos of jake to visually explain Sociopatch characteristics so that we could see how one MAY act, it.was a visual. Chris is doing he same thing here.
@@paigebrantley737 the difference between shane and this rewired soul guy is the fact that shane agreed to collab with jake & made aware of the focal point of the series before it went public. Trisha and Bobby, on the other hand, were never asked & clearly vocalized their discomfort with what he is doing and told him to stop. He didn't, and he comes back with a video basically saying, "Hey I'm not technically claiming anything about you, just making some points and assumptions based on your public activity though it might not be factual correct." You can claim all you want about how this guy is doing nothing wrong. It still does not change the fact that he is a douchebag.
I'm pretty sure that he's breaking a couple of HIPAA codes. oh but wait hipaa doesn't apply to him because he isn't a licensed professional who is diagnosing people with their permission haha
Is it not illegal, in the state where he resides, to present yourself as a therapist when you clearly aren’t?. In the UK certain professions can’t be imitated not can qualifications be intimated. Although not exhaustive these are just a few of those included: Dr’s, Solicitors and Therapists. I’d argue that his training course certainly implies that he had the necessary qualifications to work within that field. Unless he clearly declares this, he should be in deep shit. Has this all been reported to the authorities where he lives? He is a bully and is so full of self importance that he believes that raising his voice and throwing in a few buzz words amongst waffle, will suffice. I wonder whether his Mummy actually wrote these books? Given that Mummy was on his channel promoting and endorsing his channel she should really worry about her own job. As she clearly stated in one video - he doesn’t need any qualifications!! I hope to goodness that he never returns to UA-cam but unfortunately his ego simply won’t be able to stay away long.
@@katiekat1302 I'm sure it is; it's incredibly illegal to have some form of medical practice without the proper credentials. 12:40 I actually physically winced hearing you say that with all that has since happened with her. Yes, she may be licensed but she stepped way, way out her lane in the documentary with Shane Dawson. Especially since she is a licensed couples therapist and not a psychiatrist, who could actually tell you in-depth information about the disorders from their education _and_ experience treating patients with these disorders, not just read the definition word-for-word from the DSM-5. She did almost as much harm to the mental health community as TRS. She acted extremely unethically(meeting Jake Paul as a “producer” knowing she was actually there to assess him w/o his consent), spread dangerous misinformation about mental health disorders and was just seemingly fear mongering during that series. She gets a platform speaking to literally tens of millions of people about mental health and what does she do? Calls these disorders, and the people with them, “eeky” and “gross”. Rant over!
Hi! I'm studying to be a psychiatrist (in my last year) and i did multiple practices with actual psychiatrists. They (or the ones I worked with) use the DSM to diagnose since they need actual evidence that the symptoms that the patient is experiencing belongs to a mental illness. However, I agree with you on the fact that she was extremely unprofessional in that video. (btw sorry if my english is bad, this isn´t my first language).
Yes, I agree. A REALLY good psychologist to watch is Psychology in Seattle. He watches TLC shows as a way to help his viewers see if they identify with relationship issues the people on the show may be exhibiting.... basically showing us all how we all need therapy. He's always got disclaimers about how he can't diagnose these ppl from a tv show. He's excellent.
I do think that he started his channel being concerned for mental health. However it seems like he gave in to the views those videos got him. People change easily. I just hope he stops bothering other youtubers. We don't really need more drama.
Yeah, i started following Chris when he had less than 300 subs and just did Mental Health videos a few times a week, and they were so good. Now he is in my feed 4 times a day doing drama. And quality has dropped a lot. I keep subbed because i hope it goes back to what it was.
But you gotta admit people would sleep on mental health if it wasn’t made relevant to things in social media and in the situations surrounding controversies and the people we look up to.
Dp Sm You’re not getting the point. The whole reason he makes videos based on UA-camrs is because they get more views. Hence more people watch them because viewers can relate to them more. He makes it very clear in his videos (if you watched them) that he is not making videos for the people he puts in the thumbnail. It’s for the viewers. I could go on but you could also just watch his videos and see for yourself.
He's just replacing substance abuse with the dopamine hits he's getting from rambling incoherently while constantly putting high search posters in his titles.
Finally someone said it!!!!!!!!! People commonly move their addiction from one thing to another and he is clearly addicted to attention, being seen as valued and having skills others don't have, and MONEY. He's also projecting a lot of dysfunction onto other people while being dysfunctional himself. Making 3 videos a day to keep getting that dopamine hit rather than sit in a room with himself for a night says a lot about how badly you want that fix.
@@zoewynne8433 exactly, it's been obvious ever since he started getting attention he's just escalating. ReikaWolf exactly and every argument he tries to make on ANY topic always ends up in “I was as an ex drug addict and that happened to me..”. Every time I hear that it stresses me out, he thinks that he can relate to everything. He compares eating disorders, toxic relationships, bipolar disorder etc. to his drug addiction as if everything is somehow the same
Yeah, and he's always talking about girls that he's dated in the past. It's pretty wired that he keeps bringing them up, like dude, your hand didn't count as a girlfriend.
Do not call me cringy. My son was killed. Losing him suddenly has been the most nightmarish thing you could ever imagine. Watching Chris has probably saved my life. Not that a video of his could fix something so horrific but the techniques he’s taught me have kept me hanging on. I know one place where prim is dead ass wrong. Kati is not better suited to help someone bc of her schooling. My mother owned five treatment centers. Hands down the best counselors were the ones without schooling but with life experience. The ones with a degree but no life experience never had as good of a success rate. Chris has studied his ass off. He’s helped me and I’m not easily fooled or ignorant by any means. I think prim joking about cocaine and wearing a shirt that says I wanna die is dangerous. How’s that? Coming from someone who is barely hanging on I think that’s horrible. I could care less if he makes one dollar a year or a million the help he has given to ppl like me is priceless.
I don't understand how anybody thought he was a real psychologist. Diagnosing people and discussing peoples private and technical details on the internet is not professionally acceptable behaviour. I'd reckon it'd be okay for a lawyer or engineer, but probably not a medical professional of any kind.
i’m SO glad someone is talking about this dude. all of his videos get shoved down my throat in the recommendation page. and he constantly contradicts himself and places himself on a higher pedestal than everyone else.
kerry fredericks omg same he is Serisouly so annoying I always hit the "im not interested" button anytime he pops up😂 but since im subscribed to primilink and also fuck this guy Serisouly😂 hes so full of shit. Yeah hes good at retaining information and then placing it in others situations but god good he is like someones big uncle that just wont shut the fuck up
Same! I really didn't like the videos he made about Illymation. The title was something in the lines of "Why Illymination shouldn't talk about her ex", can't remember it precisely. But it annoyed me. Like bitch, don't tell other people how to deal with their traumatic experiences. He's not even qualified.
If he was a trained professional, he would never try to diagnose someone over the internet because he would know that you *can't* get an accurate diagnosis that way. Sure, it's important to point out toxic behaviour online and start a dialogue, but that isn't what he's doing. He isn't bringing awareness to mental health issues, he's exploiting them for views and money.
I’m so glad someone made a video on this guy. First time I saw a video of his in my suggestions when he was a lot smaller I watched it and felt so weird about him and his content. He gives off a very strange vibe and has no education or training on mental health so he has no business discussing it. Playing an internet psychiatrist is so irresponsible.
Same. Weird vibes. I think the thing about is that he comes off as unprofessional and borderline disrespectful sometimes and that's not what we expect from mental health advocates.
I have a ba in psychology and his behavior, actions, and words always set me off. Something was always off about him pushing his experiences and projecting on others. Its interesting to watch him but take what he says with a grain of salt.
His mother IS a psychiatrist and he also was a counsellor in a rehab. He never claimed to be an expert, but very few practising psychiatrists have the time to give information and advice for free on the internet DAILY. you might not like his methods of using celebrities but I've never once witnesses him give objectively bad advice. It's all advice I could have used back when I was being abused and struggling with alcoholism.
lemon ste “his mother is a psychiatrist” okay? And that means he is? Even if he was a psychiatrist he shouldn’t be online mixing UA-cam drama with mental health. Psychiatrists don’t give free info online because their job is to diagnose people with mental illness. You can’t possibly do that by talking about a UA-cam video or things you tubers do. It could all be a persona, or they could really be shitty. Point is he, or anyone, doesn’t know shit about these youtubers real lives. I think you all are mixing up psychiatrists with psychologist. Psychologists would be the ones to give more “advice”
I was 100% with you on this... until the very end. ...Kati Morton?... Really?... After your whole tirade on BetterHelp (which I do agree with), you recommend her - I find it very hard to believe you have followed her work and somehow managed to miss the very publicly shamed fact that she was one of the BIGGEST BH shills.
I mean this is a pretty stupid argument really considering the fact that Morton is still a LICENSED therapist with specialist knowledge regarding mental health and makes videos purely to help and inform people. Don't get me wrong I am NOT defending BetterHelp, nor am I defending Morton's endorsement of it. But if we are judging Morton purely on her capacity as a mental health channel, she is absolutely solid. Just because she endorsed BetterHelp does not mean that she has any responsibility for that scandal (let's be realistic: she endorsed them for money, and probably did not investigate the service in depth at all), that scandal does not define the quality of her content, and her association with that scandal does not automatically make her guilty by association. If you are a semi-rational person, you would be able to separate her channel and an over-blown scandal and realise that we are judging her channel by its merit alone. Kati's channel is a FAR better channel for mental health as she is not simply an ex-drug addict pretending to be a licensed therapist. If you lack the capacity to analyse the merits of her channel in this way and are simply fixated on a media scandal that is long in the past, then you really aren't being fair, reasonable or logical in your analysis, are you?
Exactly yeah she stopped but it was because everyone was calling her out. And I'm sorry but if you're going to promote something when you have a platform especially do your research and do it well before you start. So in my opinion all the youtubers who promoted it either didn't or didn't care.
@@Lucas-kn4zu For a UA-camr, their channel and their personality are inherently interwined. Kati's garbage personality renders her channel garbage by association. I can't take mental health advise from someone who did what she did in the Shane Dawson docuseries, regardless of how comprehensive her work on eating disorders might be. She's just another parasite exploiting YT drama and the mental illness debate to get ahead.
I don't think he necessarily has bad intentions, but he's very misguided. I've suffered from severe clinical depression, and I had well meaning friends and family say things like "try meditation!","maybe it's your diet","have you tried juicing?", "have you tried this or that supplement?","you should exercise!" And on and on and on. That's absolutely a terrible approach because for one, people with mental health disorders have already heard those things countless times, and if doing those things were so simple or worked, they would have recovered a long time ago. But that's pretty much all this guy is doing. Also, it's not as simple as "just getting therapy", because in order for therapy to be effective, you have to be READY for it. Therapy takes a lot of time and mental energy and not everyone with mental health disorders is at a place where they are truly ready to jump that hurdle.
As someone who is actually in training to become a therapist and getting a master's degree in Counseling Psychology, it makes me sad how much attention this guy has garnered and the messages that he's promoting. We have long conversations in some of my classes about people like him and why it's ethically wrong to do what he's doing.
You’re so stupid, continue “training” while he actually has numbers on his side of lives he’s saved and helped from doing the same thing he does about youtubers. The same way I don’t need a degree to call you an idiot, he doesn’t need a degree to tell his followers not to grow up to be selfish ego maniacs like some of the youtubers he talks about with substance abuse problems. Fuck whatever “training” you’re going through, especially because I know a lot of therapists and not one of them ever referred to their schooling or career as “training” how do you “train” to be a therapist???? Lmaooo you don’t bitchhhh
I think he's truly trying to support and promote good mental health practices and even in the videos about specific youtubers he has a lot of good points. However, I think he's biased toward his own content and is in denial about the damage it can have to make that many videos about one person. Do these youtubers actually have the problems Chris thinks they do? Maybe. But that's for them to take care of if they choose to, and putting a spotlight on them won't help. I haven't seen all of the videos, but I have watched some here and there and the ones I did only spoke about the specific youtuber for the first few minutes while the rest of the video focused on stories from his own experiences and the general person with X disorder or issue. So in my opinion he /does/ focus on the solution, at least in some videos. But making that many videos about one person really adds up. It's excessive and maybe a better way to talk about these problems would be to keep who he's talking about anonymous.
The flip side of that is the reason he uses youtubers as examples is because people relate to them and he mentions them by name because that's the only way people who may benefit from the advice will click on the video. I do think he can get excessive and post too much on one UA-camr at a time, but he doesn't diagnose them and the videos are more geared for the people who see the problematic behavior and think "lol, me." But his discord is actually helpful in bringing people together so they don't feel alone and can connect with others going through similar struggles.
I liked Chris at first. I felt like he really had some knowledge I could learn from in the beginning when he’d discuss anxiety and depression and stuff. Then when he started going after you tubers I started watching him less... so sad to see his downfall. Thought he was such a genuine person. smh.
The fact he replied to your comment with that kinda proves your point. I mean, he admits he drew conclusions of who you are from a single comment. So if hes willing to draw a conclusion of who you are from a couple videos and a comment, he most certainly isnt qualified to be diagnosing people
@@BL-hw4mn No, he just pretends like he knows who these people are and the lives that they lived when he clearly shows that he is quick to jump to conclusions
@@BL-hw4mn His disclaimer doesn't change he talks about people he doesn't know and who don't want his help. He does diagnose people and you are delusional. He has no qualifications so should keep his mouth shut talking about depression and things he isn't qualified to talk about. He isn't licensed in any way and repeatly talked about Trisha paytas even after she has said she wants him to stop. He exploits people for views and money. His mother is qualified not him. He is a just a gossip who says I think this person has this and should get help.
@@BL-hw4mn His intentions may be good but his methods are plagued with selfish tendencies and seemingly a righteous attitude in which he believe he is morally superior because he can 'recognize problematic signs' or 'identify symptoms' I'm assuming you're trying to defend him because you've found help in his videos or something along those lines and you're by no means wrong to do so but to deny his tendency to think he knows all even though he doesnt have credentials and to deny his incompetence in admitting when he is wrong is just plain silly.
I think some of this criticism is valid, but as someone who just got out of a rehab program, I will say that being a recovering addict who now works as a therapist gives you a LOT more credit than you’d think. There were therapists at my program that had master’s degrees and even one with a doctorate but you could always spot those therapists that were recovering addicts and they were usually a lot better because they *got it* (and could accurately call out your bs) better than any of the others. Experience is the greatest teacher especially when it comes to addictions. It’s not like skin cancer because it’s centered around behavior which often comes from the subconscious, not black and white technical expertise.
Yeah whats a peice of paper compared to living what youre giving advice for? You always hear bussines advice to intern because you'll gain so much more that way. Thats how i view rs. But he always lets people know that they should get help if they think something is wrong with them. So really he knows hes not taking any therapists place, so i dont understand why theyre all getting so worked up over a guy just giving his 2 cents in...
I agree with this. My psychiatrist was a patient in the eating disorder program she now is a part of before she took that path. I’ve seen a million and one psychologists, psychiatrists etc and even though there’s times I’ve wanted to hate her, she is the best psych professional I have ever had. Because she GETS it and she knows what actually helps vs what doesn’t because she has been there.
@Danny Torrance equally stupid?its called common sense. If someone has been through something theyre going to have their own set of answers to be given as advice. May i add people get to decide whether or not they take it.
Being experienced in addiction, and being able to coach others through their addiction is very very different from a lot of the stuff Chris talks about. If he stuck to addiction and toxic relationship advice, I don't think hed have any backlash at all (well, if he stopped assuming people were drug addicts that is)
Kati Morten is even more problematic. She is a family therapist but a lot of other professionals have criticized her heavily, specially when she starts talking about stuff outside her area of expertise. She is also heavily involved in the better help drama. (Rumoured to even be a part of the company) so take her words with a grain of salt
But that doesn’t mean she isn’t licensed in her specific field. She made a mistake in the Shane series but her mistakes aren’t exactly comparable to TRS and don’t entirely make her opinions meaningless. Yes, she has limitations in some areas, but she is still licensed and practicing.
Artillery Princess she was featured in Shane’s Jake Paul series and made some super unprofessional comments about people with anti-social personality disorder (sociopaths). She also followed Shane to Jake’s house to “see” if he was a sociopath from her perspective, which is also very troubling. Why I really disliked Kati for this when she did it, that doesn’t negate the fact that she is licensed - in marriage and family counseling. And while her decisions to work with better help and work with Shane are questionable it doesn’t negate the fact that her videos are well researched and she is licensed with a degree.
I agree and I disagree with you. I don't think he's trying to be a therapist for the UA-camrs he talks about or his followers. I've never seen him diagnose anyone, and the only big speculation I've seen him say was when he said "we would be fools to believe Bobby wasn't under the influence when he crashed his car." He has pointed out mental illnesses in UA-camrs, but only when they've come out and said they struggle with said illness first. That's not diagnosing. He's never claimed to be an expert or licensed or anything of the sort. He always recommends that people go see a real therapist when they can afford it, and for those that can't he offers his experiences and what has helped him through those experiences. I see nothing wrong with that. If he were claiming he was an expert and saying "If you have these symptoms, you're depressed. I have the tools to fix that," then there would obviously be a problem. But from my perspective, his whole channel is to raise awareness about mental health by showing you examples of day to day issues in the content you consume. And that's where the problem lies. When he's covering topics presented in Netflix shows it's all fine and dandy. Those are fictional people, and by digging deep into those situations and helping you understand them better he's hurting no one. When it comes to UA-camrs, however, these are real people and real lives. I personally love his videos pointing out what people do right, and the occasional ones targeting why we believe certain things about certain UA-camrs, or why we let some UA-camrs get away with something but not others. But when he's pointing out where they're going wrong, it can go south very quickly. I'm torn though, because people really do put out content that can be harmful to those that don't know better. That's how we get people like Millie Bobby Brown thinking the guy from You isn't a creepy stalker because "he's in love." But by taking content made from a person's life and pointing out the wrongs, it comes off more as an unsolicited attack. I do think his intentions are in a good place. At the very least, they started in a good place, you could argue that they're more neutral now. And I do think he's still making respectable moves; he made a video about Trisha telling people to stop shaming her and that he's not making more videos on her because they affect her. The BetterHelp and $100 course promo rubs me the wrong way though. The books not so much, but the other two I can't really roll with. I don't think he's as bad as some make him out to be though. Maybe not ideal, but not awful.
b1naryqueen I agree you completely, you hit the nail on the head. I don’t think he’s a terrible person but I do see the criticism against him as valid. I couldn’t imagine having serious mental health struggles and having someone use my personal failures as a “circus clown” to show ppl on how NOT to act. It’s easy to be on his side when videos aren’t being made about you. And I feel like now that ppl are doing the same thing to him, he’s visibly feeling what the people he makes videos about are feeling.
LiwiaGoszynska He May be right but that’s not the point. Bobby Burns has a lot going on now poor thing. Anyway I can’t stand this guy. Have you seen his girlfriend🤮. When she sits for a video she scratches her face and fidgets the whole time. I’m a professional nurse and I CANT DIAGNOSE. This guy has no education past a GED that he self admired to. Just wish he would STFU. He’s so annoying and can start rumors that aren’t true. Mark my words he’s going to get in trouble very soon.
@@Doggiehoomanmom I have to disagree. He's not diagnosing anybody. I would say you're doing what you think he's doing. You may not be diagnosing his girlfriend, but you're insinuating something about her due to the fact that she fidgets.
I genuinely was under the impression he was licensed. How the hell did I miss that? 😫 I got weird vibes but honestly I haven’t watched enough to think hard about this dude’s credentials. He DOES regularly say “clients” etc 😒 I’m a clinical mental health grad student starting my 3rd year of my program, and I would never feel qualified enough at this point to make videos like this. Holy crap
Also what is with his "If you had a depressed friend, you wouldn't recommend therapy?" thing. Yes, I would recommend therapy if I knew they hadn't tried it and thought they would benefit from it.....I wouldn't gossip about them to another group of friends publicly enough for them to hear it (the parallel of his videos if these people actually were his friends, which they are not).
He once made a video basically accusing UA-camrs with (professionally diagnosed) DID that they're attention seekers and are faking it. He made another video basically calling Emma Blackery 'selfish' for not wanting to discuss her BPD publicly or to (understandably) be the face of BPD, as if he's entitled to the details of another person's mental health. Another fun fact is that he once diagnosed his past self with BPD, it's hilarious how he's not even professionally diagnosed himself (and isn't a trained professional) but feels like he can tell another person with it how to approach their BPD.
"I learned more about you, and that's too bad, man"??? Wow. That's rich. I was already offended on your behalf because although I'm a fairly new sub, I know about the fundraising you did recently for mental health awareness, so that jab made me laugh outright, but then you go and reveal his $8 emotes and his bullshit $100 one-hour online course! My jaw hit the floor upon hearing that. And while being an ex-addict is all the qualification you need to head up your local 12-step meeting, it does not give you license to diagnose and recommend treatment to absolute strangers based upon what they choose to reveal to the world through their social media platforms. I am so glad I never got into this guy's content now, because today...if I may borrow and bend a quote.... ~ahem~ I learned more about him, and that's too bad, man.
Glory Hulle don’t just take someone’s word for it and actually go watch his videos. He doesn’t diagnose anyone and that’s why he recommends therapy because he’s not a precessional. This guy has helped me so much and has made me feel encouraged to go to therapy and my life has been so much better. I don’t mean any disrespect but you should check him out and form an opinion for yourself.
I really don't like him, he's so patronizing for people (calling Trisha "baby girl", "honey" or something like that is very inapproptiate and I don't even like Trisha that much. He's answer for you was very accusatory and shaming for just telling your opinion about him, like you'd done something wrong, even if he's doing that about everyone else and in way more condemnatory way. He's so manipulative). He's face makes me feel really uncomfrotable. And he's a real drama channel, more than iNabber for example wtf.
So many people are afraid to speak up against this hack just because he'll manipulate you with the "sO yOU Don'T sUPpORt MeNtAL hEaLtH??" bs. I was on the fence for a while, but his BetterHealth circlejerk video ultimately made me decide he wasn't a good channel. There are too many cases of people being scammed by BetterHealth for any decent creator to rightfully support them. He may have good points sometimes, but acting as an educator on the topic without any proper credentials to an audience of thousands of young people is irresponsible & dangerous. Just become a drama/news channel! You have a great voice for it, MAN!
Just imagine scamming someone who has depression that is trying to get help. Scamming them out of hundreds of dollars is surely going to make them *more* depressed. I can only hope no one hurt themselves if they were scammed. Their asses would be sued hell to back if someone killed themselves because of that scam.
You should watch his response video to Primink (yes, he already has one). It's cringey at best with his fans feeding the flames of his ego in the comments. Pretty much exactly what you would expect. The devil works hard but Chris works harder.
You absolutely nailed it Primink! Once you cut through the fluffy psycho-babble, his primary motivation is clearly money and attention. He is dangerous and unethical and needs to be called out.
Not to mention that she also diagnosed Jake Paul with anti-social personality disorder in Shane's series when it's not her field of expertise, she never talked to him AND called the disorder creepy & saying she wanted to take a shower after discussing the symptoms with Shane. No professional in their right mind would diagnose someone they've never met before. Gave me an icky feeling about her.
Claudi S. Honestly that comment about wanting to take a shower after just discussing the symptoms of Antisocial personality disorder is so disgusting. Sociopaths aren’t bad people they have a mental illness that they can’t control. And even though they probably don’t give a shit about her or her opinions, but it makes me so angry when youtubers suddenly are psychologists or hire people who aren’t even qualified to diagnose people with those disorders. Like you can’t watch someone’s videos and then say they can diagnose someone because of those videos ( which are highly edited and cut out things that show the whole picture) my lord.
@@flimsyenthusiasm5769 "makes me so angry when youtubers suddenly are psychologists" god that triggered me, that whole fucking year of jacksepticeye trying to be the pillar of positive mental health when hes a lets play channel I think he even talked with Kati, lmao god that was an annoying time to watch him

Yeah.. dont take mental health advice from the internet. Or diagnos on the net. Thats probably one of the worst things you can do when dealing with mental health. That and self medicating. Better to go to someone who actually knows what they are talking about.. like a doctor
At the end of the day people will take advice from who they want. And if his videos are reachable to troubled people shouldnt they take what ever help they want, thinking for themselves as well?
Can I add that sometimes doctors are terrible, but that doesn't mean you give up on all doctors. Like if you went to a bad mechanic, you wouldn't suddenly stop going to mechanics when your car broke down. The same with doctors. It's unfortunate that getting help is trial and error since mental health is extremely personal and vulnerable. Also, there's nothing wrong with sharing your personal struggle with mental health or the healthcare system. It's actually super valuable. The problem is when you project your thoughts on to others. It's extremely unethical to diagnose someone you have not sat down with. Not to mention diagnoses require the person to go through a plethora of tests. It's not just "I saw this person doing this weird thing so they must have x" A doctor/therapist can have a hunch based on symptoms, but they would (should) never give a diagnosis without administering tests to support their hunch.
@@MissMercury4872 I would hope they'd actually go to a professional rather than taking his advice. If he's so smart about overcoming addiction then Wtf is he still abusing his body with addiction to crap food? I actually feel sorry for him and hope he sees a professional himself. He needs help.

@Daisy ikr?!?!
No kidding! I agree with you 100%
A lot of addicts think they're psychologists after they get sober. That's exactly what this guy is doing. Giving psychological advice without being a trained or accredited professional. It's wrong and potentially illegal.
Yeah no.. We are all fucked up.. the only advice we can give is how to get clean and hopefully stay clean but take it a day at a time..

B B right, if he just said he was a drama channel who like to focus on mental health I’d give him less shit but he’s in denial, denial

The Rewired Soul is either deeply misguided or intentionally exploitative.

I'm sure he'd love to talk at length about confirmation bias - in everyone else on youtube or who he's come across irl, lol

I agree she acted way immature and you can’t just diagnose a person based on 1 visit
A psychiatrist would be way more versed in those types of mental health disorders.

Someone can read his Gabbie Hana video where he has anxiety and avoidance disorder right next to her name and someone could take that implication as fact and say she has avoidance disorder which she has never publicly admitting to having and even if she does have avoidance disorder it’s her choice to tell the world about that
fightmefairy Well said. Cheers!
Chris is doing he same thing here.
because of the... implication
@@paigebrantley737 the difference between shane and this rewired soul guy is the fact that shane agreed to collab with jake & made aware of the focal point of the series before it went public.
@A G Yes, I've seen his videos. I was subscribed to him and enjoyed him until he started getting soooo over the top with his clickbait. Using Jason Nash's children in his title for clickbait honestly grossed me out so bad I unsubbed and see him in a different light.
Rant over!
THANK YOU!
I can’t believe he tried to manipulate the situation to make you look bad. *ALL YOUR POINTS IS WHAT I THOUGHT* I don’t feel so alone anymore

Gingerbreadfork this is dark, but I can agree.
Prime example was a video of his I saw yesterday I can't even remember the content because he couldn't have cared less was 85% rambling about unrelated things as filler and a small mention of the topic used for clickbait in the title.
@@gingerbreadfork_ Did his rambling mention his girlfriend Tristan?!! or him being a dad,??! or being in recovery!!?? Cause he must spend 4 hrs a day yelling that stuff into a camera, while his gf sits somewhere else getting some peace & quiet and his son is who knows where!? Not suggesting he's a bad dad, but I'm guessing he's a dad who spends his custody time turning everything into a teachable lesson and couldn't name 1 thing that happened to the kid that day.
@@zoewynne8433 yeah that's basically the template for all his videos lol if you watch one and actually look for the content it's "implied" to be about you barely find any he usually sneaks it into the last part so you feel like there was much more of it because it's the last thing you hear. Has anyone actually seen "MY BEAUTIFUL GIRLFRIEND TRISTAN"? The guy's response to this video comes off as passive-aggressive. Tbh, the dude seems like a closet narcissist. All his cronies in the comment section are cringy as well honestly.
I'm pretty sure he curates his comments section they all seem to positive and I know I've left negative comments before but I rarely get responses.
i agree with you, i think that he is the type of person to stand in front of a mirror and jackoff to his own opinions and self rightchesnes
If someone asked to be left alone, and you don’t stop, it’s harassment. Plain and simple.
i’m SO glad someone is talking about this dude. all of his videos get shoved down my throat in the recommendation page. and he constantly contradicts himself and places himself on a higher pedestal than everyone else.

He sounds like he's constantly speaking in a tin can
Lmaoooooo
Also, being a counselor means jack shit. Anyone can be a counselor. highly disrespectful to think they have any business talking about what he does.
I was 100% with you on this...
until the very end.
...Kati Morton?... Really?...
After your whole tirade on BetterHelp (which I do agree with), you recommend her - I find it very hard to believe you have followed her work and somehow managed to miss the very publicly shamed fact that she was one of the BIGGEST BH shills.
oh and btw... she also tried to defend BH at first, she just got too much shit for it.
“Before we look at the problem we have to look at the solution.”
Maybe it was just me but I thought that was literally the opposite of how it works

@@sharkyyyx5653 nice work proving Primink right. You idiots really can't take any criticism, just like your master.
I do think he can get excessive and post too much on one UA-camr at a time, but he doesn't diagnose them and the videos are more geared for the people who see the problematic behavior and think "lol, me."
But his discord is actually helpful in bringing people together so they don't feel alone and can connect with others going through similar struggles.

@@BL-hw4mn His intentions may be good but his methods are plagued with selfish tendencies and seemingly a righteous attitude in which he believe he is morally superior because he can 'recognize problematic signs' or 'identify symptoms'
I'm assuming you're trying to defend him because you've found help in his videos or something along those lines and you're by no means wrong to do so but to deny his tendency to think he knows all even though he doesnt have credentials and to deny his incompetence in admitting when he is wrong is just plain silly.
If he stuck to addiction and toxic relationship advice, I don't think hed have any backlash at all (well, if he stopped assuming people were drug addicts that is)
@@sekailu He never called himself a therapist, have you even watched any of his videos?
TheProjectMJ what did she do? What was the mistake?
@@beautifulexplosives259 farted and accidentally pooped but hey ho we have all done it😶
Artillery Princess she was featured in Shane’s Jake Paul series and made some super unprofessional comments about people with anti-social personality disorder (sociopaths).
"He didn't make a video for me" nah son you got a whole chapter in a book

Another fun fact is that he once diagnosed his past self with BPD, it's hilarious how he's not even professionally diagnosed himself (and isn't a trained professional) but feels like he can tell another person with it how to approach their BPD.

yeah true, but the better help call out aged like fine wine. The diversity of a Primink video 🥰
also isn’t Kati Morton problematic too?
4:13 well... that didn't aged well did it
I dont really like Kati, she kinda went along with the Eugenia Cooney thing when theres an actual issue being hidden
@@flimsyenthusiasm5769 "makes me so angry when youtubers suddenly are psychologists"
god that triggered me, that whole fucking year of jacksepticeye trying to be the pillar of positive mental health when hes a lets play channel I think he even talked with Kati, lmao god that was an annoying time to watch him
@@DeezN00tz99 Bro fuckin legit stopped watching jack because of that. He used to be great but he just hit this full on mental health train. Like bro you are known for fucking happy wheels and the escapist lmfao
I called him tacky. He blocked me.
Cheers!🍷
Yeah.. dont take mental health advice from the internet.
Well... in his videos Chris constantly tells people to get proffesional help because he's not a therapist, tho, so what's your point?
@@MissMercury4872 I would hope they'd actually go to a professional rather than taking his advice. If he's so smart about overcoming addiction then Wtf is he still abusing his body with addiction to crap food? I actually feel sorry for him and hope he sees a professional himself. He needs help.
*Sigh*
Its true, I used to like his content but more and more I'm getting sketchy vibes from him
Sketchy because he says things that don’t agree with your or this dumb ass Priminks ego lmaoooo ge rises to it, when you’re a dumb ass , people can call you a dumb ass if they want to and you can cry about it all you want, doesn’t make it any less correct lmao
@@sharkyyyx5653 dude your making all his fans look sensitive 😂 i disagree with this persons opinion but theres no need to be childish. It kind of lowers the credibility you have but thats just me.
@@sharkyyyx5653 lol, the comment you left doesn't help Chris's case at all, no need to swear and call people names just for having an opinion.
I'm sorry but if my "therapist" has got a voice like that, I'll just pass.
I watched a couple of his videos when he first started uploading, but the more views & subs he got, the bigger his ego got. He's CONSTANTLY in the comment sections of drama channels, fishing for collabs & be really seems to think he's superior because his Mommy is a therapist. He's a weird guy, very manipulative.
You took the words outta my mouth 💓
"Who hates David Dobrik? He's an angel."
Well that aged like milk.
Chris doesn't rewire souls, he rewires people's words.
That thing on David Dobrik age like milk lol
and the kati morton bit as well 💀💀 totally not diagnosing jake paul as a sociopath later that year without his consent
