Thank you so much for posting this. I am a huge corvette fan and have never seen or heard of the CERV III. Very badass car. Looks like a corvette and a vector had a baby that kinda resembled a Jag xj220/xjr15
You are very welcome, thank you for checking it out! That is one of my goals with this channel, is to turn people on to lesser known cars that you don't hear about very often. :)
DtRockstar1 are you from Michigan? I'm thinking about visiting Detroit, are there a lot of Automotive themed things to see there, such as factories or museums? If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them
I would have loved to have seen the CERV 3 in production. If it was going to be a $100k+ car we wouldn't have seen very many of them. It's too bad they couldn't build it today, I think it's much more exciting design than what they are going to do. A Corvette without flip up headlights, doesn't feel right. But to paraphrase Jay Leno, you want pedestrians to be smiling when you run into them. Damn regulations, takes the fun out of everything.
A CORVETTE WITHOUT THE SIGNITURE ROUND TAIL LIGHTS DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT. CHEVY HAS SO MANY DESIGN CLUES THAT MADE THEM IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZABLE THAT THEY JUST ABANDONED. FOR EXAMPLE IMPALA'S TRIPLE TAIL LIGHT TREATMENT WAS UNIQUE IN THE INDUSTRY, EXCEPT FOR MAYBE THE LIMITED PRODUCTION KOENIGSEGG CCX. OH WELL.
Great video! Corvette should have had a mid engine super car option form the '60s onward like Duntov was pushing for. The only thing that's a no go for me about the C8 now that they finally went mid engine is no h shift option. Autos (DCT really) are nice for a daily driven car or if going for ultimate lap times but definitely takes away from the fun factor.
Cerv 111 is awesome..it should have been made..jaguar xj220 and even modern mclarens take cues from it. If this were built it would have probably been built in lower numbers and 100% be an exotic supercar worth millions.
By switching it to the LT1 or LS1 and ditching the all wheel drive and steering, they could have dropped probably 400 lbs. minimum and a bunch of complexity from the car. Perhaps this could have made it a viable option for production.
@@DtRockstar1 kool - Wondering if the chassis based of the VERV III ? got to see a REAL c4 Callaway turbo with the 5 star mag wheels , also got to see the c4 Callaway LM Race car , and worked on CALLAWAY Impala SS with the SuperNatural Engine , at the Dealership i worked in Toronto Canada 18 years ago . had to Replace the Brembo brakes on the 1996 impala ss Callaway cost $3000 pair for Rotors 2 piece

very awkward video, very low (bad) camera angle shooting through your crotch. Weird. Very little actual technical information. I welcome the new C-8. Maybe try another video with improvements?
The cerv 3 is, was, and always will be the coolest vett never made
"You're all familiar with this car."
I have never seen this car in my life.
i feel my 4th gen Camaro has roots of the CERV III
I had no clue at all the tech the Cerv 3 has! Wow
The Cerv3 is the best looking. It resembles the Jaguar XJ220.
nah nah mate, as the CERVIII Corvette predates it, it is the other way around, and the xj220 resembles the CERVIII Corvette. :)
Was about to say the samething
Looks nothing like the XJ220, It looks more like the Nissan R390 & The Jaguar XJ-15
@@uhm175 really, because the designer of the xj220 said this car and the Buick wild car concept were inspiration for the xj 220.
Jaguar XJR-15R too
Cerv III is so beautiful 😍💙
Thank you for uploading as I remember looking at that mid engine Corvette in a magazine back in the early 90s
The CERV 3 would have made a beautiful LM car
The CERV III should've at least been in Gran Turismo 3 and 4

Yes, Detroit is very rich with car museums and community. You can email me at lightning_shred@hotmail.com and I can give you some recommendations.
looks like some of the design made it into the c4 corvette
The Test Drive III intro music, in all its MIDI glory, kept playing in my head and that's why I'm here.
Ahh, Test Drive…good times!
Lots a freakin tech for its time!!
On my 8th corvette love it very informative video man didnt know much about the cervs now I do
Great video, those cars were new to me . I’d never seen them before
Chevy should organize with polyphony digital and add these car to Gt sport along with a camoflaged C8 corvette(they did this with the c7)
No
I remember the cerv III being all wheel steering and AWD transverse engine. Skid pad performance of over 1.2 G forces
amazing.. i love corvette
I just stumbled on this video after watching your ZR-1 review. Great job man, excellent story telling and editing.
Thank you very much, Jeff! I appreciate you checking out my videos and I am very happy you enjoyed them!
Pretty damn cool
The cerv3 and Indy concept is the future that I always dream
And now it is here 60 years

So I have always wondered why the cerv3 had ground lights behind the doors? Seem to run when parking or headlights on?
MAYBE THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT WAS WEDGED UNDERNEATH.
So cool! I've never saw that car before.

Is the CERV III on display somewhere?
Excellent video. I actually learned a lot!
Thanks Tim! How's your footage of the Firebird III?
DtRockstar1 I haven't looked at it yet!
Thanks for your efforts .... great review it's my first time to see CERV's ON " video " for sure 🌝💙💎

Great video 📹 👍
Thank you very much!
I am from the future, and I can say that the mid-engined Corvette is indeed a thing. You’re welcome.
I can see some of the Jaguar XJ220 in the CERV3. And it looks a lot like the C5 Corvette from the late ‘90s/early 2000s
Looks nothing like the XJ220, It looks more like the Nissan R390 & The Jaguar XJ-15
You didn't go into detail about the gull wing rotary engined Corvette that John Delorean helped create
I'd love to see a rotary swap DMC 12 some day.

Still better looking than the new 2020 Stingray.
Ah great Test Drive III memories. If only GM didn't leave it stuck in concept phase...
Yep! Loved those games as a kid!
the 10th generation corvette will go back to the cerv 3 look futuristic look and ultra light weight
It's BULLSHIT that car makers can't use pop up headlights anymore. I love them
