My 2003 Corvette was having a problem with one of the headlights making a grinding noise on the way down. Watched some UA-cam videos and learned how to repair the gear drive. Got it done. No more grinding noise. UA-cam suggested your video based on the videos I watched about my Corvette's headlights. I enjoyed your video more than I thought I would. 8-)

Great video, with some very cool versions of the pop up lights (Alfa Montreal and Opel GT and other ones i've never seen working before). Ive owned over 230 cars with pop up lights, but 225 of them were MR2s! Another one I didn't see is the Panther Solo, which had swivelling headlights. But there were only about 20 were built.

TheGetawayer Thank you very much, Guido! I was so excited to have finally been able to share this with the world. So did your dad's 914 get you hooked on German cars?
Most cars that have them usually have front clips that are "aero" and slope downward from your eyepoint behind the wheel. I knew this from my original Miata, and my C5 Corvette later on. Best feature about them to me is that when you quickly raise them as you pull into a parking spot, you have a bit more visual confirmation of where the end of your car is, so that they reduce the likelihood you will hit something with your bumper. In addition, protecting the lenses from rocks or UV fade in the case of plastic ones that are sadly the norm these days, is a huge plus in my book. Mostly, they look clean which sports car people rather like. YMMV.
