Great video. I also bought a Memphis Shades 21" to replace the factory windshield on my '09 Road King Classic. It went on flawlessly (I didn't use tape). The stock windshield was 19" but I like the 2 extra inches as I am also tall. Original one got hit with a rock several years ago (better the windshield than me) and the small crack just kept growing.
Thank you Sir ..I'm about to install mine, and your video was so helpful. I'm not going to bother replacing the tape. I'm thinking of using a small bead of clear silicone for a little cushion Anyway ..Thank You
Thank you very much. Having the part numbers for the adhesive tape helped as well. My local Harley shop had a good price on them, less than $20. Installation was a breeze. Next time I will do a better job of dry fitting/tweaking everything to make for a better fit.
Thanks for the good video. Could you get me a close up of how the quick detach bolts look? I am putting a shield on but have hardware that looks way too short to work.
I dont think you need the tape. They recommend putting the plastic screws in from the back and pushing them through with the metal screw. Great video good to see the process. No torque number though
Thanks for the tip on using gasoline, It cleaned everything up great. I was just wondering on the yellow jug, by the color code red is for gasoline, blue is for kerosene, and yellow is for diesel fuel. That's the only reason I asked the question.

Great to hear!
Thanks so much! Great load of help while fitting a new windshield on my Softail. BTW, sweet looking Road King!
Just put a 21 inch on my 01 softail and I love it. Now my ears are not exploding
Thanks for your video. It was a big help installing the new windshield I bought online.
Thanks! Really helpful when replacing the screen on my Fatboy.

I'd be happy to but unfortunately I just sold the bike
Thank you doing this brother, the video that I was exactly looking for!
Thank you much
Does the steel hardware in the windshield? Which goes where? There is a thick piece and a thinner piece?
This was an informative and helpful video.
Nice work, thanks for the tutorial.
Good job... by the way, what’s the forward pointing bracket for on the light bar?
Thanks, good eye! I rigged up a drone camera that had a gimble in it to take out vibration but I fried the camera in the process. ha.
Marion Blair oops! Thought it was for a camera or another light of some sort. Great video.
Yea, you are correct, I ended up putting the gopro on the top of my helmet.

Thanks, agree, the second one I did, I didn’t do the tape. Works fine. Just don’t over tighten.
@@MarionBlair yes I used 12 inch lbs and blue lock tight.
Hey good job Mr Blair from another Blair
Thank you for your upload it helped out lots
Can those flat metal strips be purchased? Do they serve a purpose?
They come with the Harley clip on windshield, you can check with your local dealer and see if they sell them separately, maybe?
They just add strength
Thanks anyway, i figured it out and only one scratch.
Why do you have to replace the tape
You really don't. It just helps hold and less movement in the frame
Thanks Marion I’m about 5-11 and after a 17” screen maybe a 15” very helpful video my screen on my road king is a 20”
Yellow fuel can should be kerosene.
Great video
appreciate
is that kerosene or gasoline in the container. Yellow jug usually means kerosene?
Or is it diesel fuel?
I'll bet you don't even need the tape
You don't, If I did it again, I wouldn't bother. The key is not to over tighten the nuts as you'll break it.
Everyone don't know what a yellow jug is!!! Is it diesel or kerosene?
Gasoline

@@MarionBlair GooGone wasn't doing the trick, but I had some 100 octane in shed, worked like a charm!
