- In this episode of our New Orleans travel vlog we are in the New Orleans French Quarter at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel to do a New Orleans hotel tour. This is one of the best New Orleans hotels and a lot of history has been made at this location. The Omni Royal Orleans hotel started out as The Royal Orleans Hotel which completed construction and opened in 1960. The Omni Royal Orleans Hotel is located in the New Orleans French Quarter at 621 St. Louis Street. This location was previously The St. Louis Hotel which opened in 1843 where it compiled a notable history until it permanently closed in 1912 and then it was destroyed by a hurricane in 1915. Local legends indicate that The St. Louis Hotel was the birthplace of gumbo, the cocktail and even the legendary free lunch. The ballrooms of the St. Louis Hotel were also the center of New Orleans Mardi Gras celebrations before they were taken out on the streets in the contemporary style. The Royal Orleans used surviving pieces of the old St. Louis Hotel along with historic information about that historic hotel in building the contemporary Royal Orleans Hotel so that it closely resembles the noted St. Louis Hotel. Omni Hotels and Resorts acquired the lease to The Royal Orleans Hotel in 1986 and began operating the hotel as the “Omni Royal Orleans.” The Omni Royal Orleans has 14,000 square feet of meeting & event space, 3 on-site bars, a heated pool, fitness center and 345 guest rooms & suites.

Love the Hotel tours, especially the higher-end ones. Would be great to see the new 4 Seasons or the Mason de la Luz. Hope to see more Hotel Tours soon!
Thanks for watching! I will have more hotels.
I love this hotel! It’s so beautiful and they serve delicious coffee.

Wow! Dare I say? I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I do like the restaurant reviews and I think it's great how you support local restaurants, especially during the pandemic....but I really enjoyed the hotel review. Thank you! Maybe that's also your niche!
We have a LOT to explore in New Orleans!
Really enjoyed this video. One of my favorites so far.
It is a really nice place. Thanks for watching 😀
Beautiful hotel 🏨 love this review I could sit all evening on those balconies great view 😀
Maybe not in the August heat but most of the rest of the year they are amazing places to people watch and enjoy a great time 😀
You need to go to Maison De La Luz and film that. Ask for Tom he will give you a tour.
I've actually never been in there so great idea!
Tom actually showed me this channel. He’s a big fan of yours.

It is a great spot! Thanks for watching 😀
@@NOLAGent1 yes and thanks for the food reviews also will be eating at a lot of restaurants that you posted.
@@staceygillmore6518 You are near so many great spots at the Omni Royal Orleans! Make sure to pay a visit to Antoine's nearby and go to their Herme's bar to try the original Oyster's Rockefeller as they invented the dish!
What a classy place to recharge!
It is a nice spot.
Whiskars!
You left off some of the *very* dark things that have happened in this hotel... including right by that spot filmed at the rooftop pool.
In a city the age of New Orleans plenty of good and bad has happened in most of the places and spaces.
Yea I was thinking the same thing too
@@NOLAGent1still wise to make mention of them. At 2:50 follow your own advice
You are free to make your own video on any details you see fit to include about this hotel. In a short UA-cam video like this there isn't enough time to include every detail and every incident in the very long history of places. If people want a more detailed history they can research and read about it on the internet or in books. This video has a main focus on just giving a tour of the hotel which includes a VERY brief history.
Please add room names.
It sounds like voice over
There is definitely voice over.
No pool 😮
Around 14:24 is the pool.
