Travel Guide for Best Beach Seafood: Restaurant Review Video of The Crab Trap in Pensacola, Florida
In this episode of our beach travel guide we are on a travel search for the best beach seafood at restaurants with a view. We're looking for where the locals eat seafood at The Crab Trap which is perched next to the Gulf Coast on Perdido Key in Pensacola, Florida. This restaurant is popular in the area for being right on Florida’s Gulf of Mexico beach. This location of The Crab Trap is located in Pensacola, Florida at 16495 Perdido Key Drive which is about 3 hours and 201 miles away from the New Orleans French Quarter. There are two other Crab Trap locations in Florida in Fort Walton Beach and Destin. Join us for a beach food travel adventure as we explore beach style seafood on the beach. If you’re looking for an interesting experience this might be a place for you to investigate. Our restaurant review videos will be exploring some of the best Gulf Coast restaurants and this beach food vlog will show you how we enjoy our beach seafood experiences. I might go so far as to say that the Gulf Coast might have among the best seafood in the USA to my taste and the area offers many great seafood options along with lots of other food. Our beach seafood and dessert experience here could be the USA’s best beach food and waterfront dining candidate but we will let you judge that for yourself. I am constantly asking where is the best seafood and who has the best location and often I find the best seafood locations are still found at the beach so we will eat with me seafood and beach food perfection so let’s get started with a seafood eat with me on our travel vlog.

    Been to most of these, love them all. Antoine's is a family favorite, as well as Arnaud's (had my parents 50th Anniversary dinner there!). Love lunch at Galatoire's, been known to grab a quick bite and a drink at either Napoleon House or Tujague's. Was disappointed to not see Brennan's on the list, but I guess they didn't make the age cut, being opened in the forties as I recall. Great list, great video! Your A.I. narrator missed a couple pronunciations though...

      The AI missed a LOT of NOLA dialect pronunciation but the UA-cam voice to text AI got it all correct unlike my real voice. I have individual videos on all those restaurants, except Napoleon House hasn't been released yet. I have a few on Galatoire's... Thanks for watching!

    Very good job sir!! Work on your pronunciation a little bit. Don't forget Antiones, Brendan's, Corinna Dunbars, Mosca's. Have you ever heard stories of Tchopitoulous Plantation. (sp?)

    • @NOLAGent1

      For this video I used an AI voice clone tool which pronounced things in ways I can't or wouldn't. My real voice pronunciation doesn't work so well for the UA-cam AI voice to text feature as we often pronounce things in New Orleans far differently than the way they are spelled or how the rest of the world would. It hurts my ears how some of the things were pronounced in this video but the UA-cam AI gets the voice to text perfectly which makes for better results with the UA-cam algorithm. I have videos on Antoines, Brennen's, Dunbar's and Mosca's. Dunbar's final location closed sadly. Tchopitoulas Plantation these days is a wedding and event venue. Thanks for watching!

    Grew up in New Orleans. Nicely done. Love to have you do a video on the New Orleans Sunday brunch tradition. It was always a big thing what restaurant your family went to. My father’s side was a Galatoire’s brunch family and my mother’s side was an Arnaud’s family. Probably eight times out of 10 my dad won out and I have some beautiful memories of waiting in the line to be seated at Galatoire’s on a Sunday morning, everybody dressed in their finest and talking about the weeks happenings. It’s amazing all of these restaurants still exist and, for the most part, they preserve the traditions.

      The dress codes have gotten far more relaxed at most places other than Galatoire's sadly. Commander's dress code decline really hurt the souls of some of my older friends and it certainly put a dent in mine. The Jazz Brunch tradition does continue at least. Thanks for watching!

    I’m seventh generation New Orleanian….worked in, owned /operated bars and restaurants for 49 years. Way back when I was starting out, I worked 8 years at Antoine’s, before moving on to other places. It was an amazing education in the “old ways” and Creole cooking and service . When I was there, there were 181 items on the menu, entirely in French, with no explications. Before being allowed to work on the floor, we were tested on each item. Ingredients, cooking process, prep time, etc, most I still recall to this day. But…all things change and Antoine’s has been forced to become a shell of its former glory days, although it’s still a sentimental favorite of mine. I’ve eaten at every place on this list. To me, best ones are Galatoire’s, Arnauds, Broussards , Commamders, Mandina’s, Tujacs, ….

    I’m from New Orleans, born and raised and I’m of colonial Louisiana ancestry and I want to clearly define the terms “French”, “Cajun”, “Creole” and “French Creole” used in this video for folks that are confused by these labels or think they mean something other than what they mean. This might be a bit long so please try to read until the end, it’s filled with good information. “French” means it comes directly from French influence from French immigrants or their immediate descendants which has not evolved to be the local style or was added from French cuisine directly without any local change. “Cajun” means it comes from the influence of white Louisianians of Acadian Creole heritage that are of French ancestry whose ancestors were Acadians from what is today Nova Scotia and New Brunswick in eastern Canada. “Creole” means local. The local people (of any race or ancestry), the local culture, the local cuisine. That’s Creole. Here in the context of food, it means the local food style that is a mix of influences from all the people that settled New Orleans over time and contributed to its local style. Historically, Creoles were anyone of any race or ancestry that was not an American Indian or a foreigner, meaning to be a non-indigenous native-born local and this extended to mean the local culture and cuisine of these folks to which the likes of shrimp creole, creole tomatoes, creole cream cheese and creole mustard come from. “French Creole” means it comes from the influence of native-born white Louisianian locals of French descent called French Creoles, and especially those of colonial Louisiana heritage as most have ancestors that came to Louisiana in the early to mid 1700’s when Louisiana was a French colony. This is the group that the French Quarter was mostly inhabited by when it was inhabited by its original occupants and who the many books of time were written about in relation to the French Quarter and New Orleans in general. This group is the original ethnic group of New Orleans, the descendants of the founders and their ethnicity. By contrast, there are other types of Louisiana Creoles (native-born non-indigenous locals) and influences from them such as Spanish Creoles (white Louisianians of Spaniard descent such as Isleños and Malagueños in south Louisiana), Acadian Creoles (Cajuns; these are white Louisianians of Acadian heritage that are of French ancestry), German Creoles (white Louisianians of German descent, Germans been in Louisiana since 1721), Creoles of Color (mixed race people of Euro/Afro mixture such as Beyoncé’s mother), Afro-Creoles (black Creoles; unmixed and mostly unmixed blacks), Filipino Creoles (Filipino descendants whose ancestors arrived aboard Spanish Galleon ships in the late 1700’s when both Louisiana and the Philippines were Spanish colonies) etc. you even see things like Creole Italian, Creole Irish etc. In the context of food, “French Creole” are the local dishes and influences of French origin that have evolved to become part of the local cuisine that were contributed by French Creoles. I saw a restaurant not long ago that identitied the food as “Creole Mexican”. Creole being the name for local anything. Creole is always evolving, always absorbing. I hope this helps.

      I used an AI program to clone my voice for this video and generate much of the script which is optimized for search engines. This video pronounces things in ways I can't and the way many tourists do but the UA-cam AI makes it read out perfectly for the automatically generated text. Most of my videos are in my real voice and UA-cam doesn't accurately translate my voice and pronunciation to text. I sound like most of.the local people in Uptown, Garden District and Old Metry I know. I don't have any of that old school Yat accent that is now mostly in Metairie and the other suburbs.

    This narration could not be anymore annoying--- a "rich" "cullinary" "testament" "slice" of a "culture" in the "tapestery" of the "dishes".........god STFU!!!!

    You forgot Cafe Sbisa! Do your homework first.

    • @NOLAGent1
      @NOLAGent1 8 днів тому

      The only source I could find for Cafe Sbisa being the third oldest was their own website. None of the other many sources I reviewed list it. The name Cafe Sbisa goes back to 1899 but perhaps because the restaurant was closed during its history and not open the entire time other sources are not counting it. I'm certainly aware of Cafe Sbisa and it's history but I have to go with the prepondarance of the sources.
